Very close to the port and a 10 min drive to the airport. Lovely views from the rooftop terrace and bar with contemporary rooms with coffee machine, kettle and hairdryer provided. Staff were very accommodating.

It's a wonderful classic hotel,in a prime location near the fortress and in walking distance to central Heraklion. Superb decoration in an iconic building from years gone by.

The air condition got direct over the beds. We were obliged to ask for duvets, which was promptly solved.

It was so convenient to the airport, ferry port and bus station. The hotel was lovely and clean. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and each room had a balcony. We normally don’t eat in hotel restaurants but got back late from touring and decided to grab a bite at the hotel. Their rooftop restaurant was lovely and the food was delicious!!!

Happy and glad that they honored our request of a quieter, higher (6th floor), and corner suite for our family of three adults. The property has very few rooms to accommodate for three, since they do not have the option for a roll-away bed or a pull-out sofa-bed. The 2-beds were 2 twin beds joined together but it was very comfortable and linens were luxurious. The third bed was a futon with extra linens. Our 6th floor Jr. triple suite on the back of the hotel had a wrap-around balcony with a partial-view of Sea of Crete and ferry harbor. Bathroom was beautiful with a big-window overlooking eastern sunrise. Luggage escort from the car park was provided by the front-desk, which was a great help. Effie and Vicky at front-desk were very cordial and welcoming and also responsive prior to our arrival. Breakfast gets 10/10 stars for hot and cold fare, in addition to at least 2 dozen very tasty, freshly baked Greek specialties. The entire hotel smelled ginger-bread-cinnamon festive and Christmassy even in Spring season. Breakfast tables had a nice view of the Ferry port. We didn't use the fitness center on the lobby-floor, which seemed a bit too dark, but was well equipped for your gym needs. Neither did we use the roof-top pool because the pool was too cold and not heated, however, the views from the roof-top terrace were amazing. Without doubt, we'll be back for a longer stay!

My stay at Megaron hotel was simply exceptional. A true 5-star experience with outstanding service, beautiful facilities and an atmosphere that makes you feel instantly relaxed and welcomed. I would specially like to thank the afternoon receptionist, who kindly helped me send a Whatsapp from her telephone to my family, after my phone accidentally fell into the pool area. Her calmness and empathy meant a lot to me. Also, many thanks to the bartender and the waitress at the R floor who immediately tried to help and solve the situation. The breakfast was spectacular. The terrace.and pool area are exceptional, perfect for relaxing and enjoying. Everything about this hotel reflects care, professionalism, elegance and genuine hospitality. I would definitely return and highly recommend it.

The breakfast is amazing at this hotel. The array of homemade Greek cookies and cakes and jams made us feel like kids in a candy store. This along with a variety of savory breakfast items served in a lovely dining room with a view make it special!

Our room was large and clean. We had to ask for an extra coverlet as blankets were not provided.

The hotel interior was luxurious, the bed was huge and very comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast - it was the most elaborate hotel breakfast me and my partner have ever encountered anywhere.

Access at the main entrance is difficult. I found the reception area very big and confusing. It's a pity that the building has been stuck in a 1980s time-warp rather than restored to a simulation of its former glory. But there we go.

The location was great. We had a beautiful sea view if the Venetian Fort and were a few minutes walk to the center if old town. The hotel also had a gated parking lot. The breakfast was excellent and a great representation of Cretan cuisine.Staff was very helpful and kind.

We would have liked better temperature control in the room however this was a restored property. We were able to open the balcony doors for better air flow.

This hotel is AMAZING, and I would recommend it to everyone. As for their breakfast, I hope someday to return just for it!! It went down as an all-time favorite of mine!

Good location. Very convenient for a bus to Knossos (outside the door) a 10 minute walk to the main centre of Heraklion. Nice little gym with cross trainer, treadmill and bike.

The only English TV channel in the room was BBC News 24. It looked like it was supposed to have Netflix, YouTube and Amazon prime but none of these were working. Our holiday will be forever associated with Trump talking about his successful bombing of Iran and sad footage of civilians injured or grieving in Iran because there were no alternatives to BBCnews24. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great (it was March) so we spent more time than planned in the room.

I have not seen so many breakfast options before. Everything was locally sourced and hand made. Extremely courteous and helpful staff. Rooftop restaurant view is cherry on top.

Swimming pool was not heated.

Spectacular breakfast, the best in my life. Organic olive oil, handmade pastries, salty baked dishes, local delicasies, seasonal treats and huge choice of local herbs. Free and private parking. Rooms are spacious and staff absolutely competent. Location can't be better!

Rooms could be renewed, feel dates. Health club costs 30€ so no one uses it.
