Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club, Honolulu

It was boutique and unique and close to the beach and shopping area . It had a holiday vibe and Happy Hour around the bar was a highlight. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The bathroom was a bit tired.

Staff amazing!!. Beds really comfortable. We enjoyed the smaller more personalised vibe, great pool, bar and coffee shop. Great to have towels for the beach and the water dispenser to refill our bottles with cool water.

Whilst really comfortable and very clean the rooms are in need of a bit of an update. Be good to have some cutlery in the rooms as well.

We really enjoyed our stay at Surfjack. It is centrally located and the bus stop is just around the corner.

We had a three bedroom unit and there were 8 of us so the room was a bit cramped for 8 people. Overall, it was great.

Our shower would turn off intermittently. Like completely off for anywhere from 15 seconds to a couple of minutes. The water pressure would turn way down at times as well.

I mean what could I say… I had waited too long to write a review about this hotel because I didn’t want to be remembered by it. As I miss so much… The staff was incredible, friendly and felt like some other reviewers said, like family. We had the opportunity to meet the big boss Jack which was fun. We had an amazing room on the top floor.

Customer service is very good. Room was very clean and comfortable, though could use a refresh. Bed was very comfortable. Pool area very clean and easy to use. A great sense of community with all the weekly activity offerings

Overall good hotel, cleaned, comfortable. Would recommend it. The corridors and elevators though do not signal that you are in 4* hotel...

The hotel is located in closed vicinity of the waikiki beach, the staff are super friendly and the room was clean. Our bed was very comfortable. Our room was rather big. Good value for the price!

The room was missing all sorts of dishes, plates coffee cup or spoons.. we sometimes wanted to eat a fruit or a sandwich or cut something, so it was rather impractical. Also our room was close to the elevator which was a bit loud..

Great vibe, friendly service, excellent location. Enjoyed the on-site restaurant and coffee shop. The free, filtered water machine was a really nice touch, too.

Excellent, convenient location to all there is to see, do, and eat in Waikiki. The room was clean and quiet, and it was great to access the hotel pool at our convenience. Staff were extra friendly and helpful.

Parking for our rental car was a few blocks away (a 5 minute walk), but be forewarned that it's a rather tight parking garage, which is typical especially in Waikiki.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming boutique hotel in Honolulu! The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, consistently going above and beyond to meet our needs. Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and the shower had fantastic water pressure. The hotel thoughtfully provided various amenities, including a hairdryer, shampoo, body wash, filtered drinking water, ice, beach towels, and even a handy tote bag for our beach trips. Additionally, we greatly appreciated the luggage storage option, which allowed us to explore the area after checkout before our flight. Lastly, the location is ideal - just a short walk from Waikiki and other main attractions, yet pleasantly set apart from the general noise and bustle, providing a peaceful retreat.

For improvement, we found the bedding slightly confusing, particularly as guests accustomed to European linens; the sheets tended to shift around. Also, because our room was located on a higher floor, we occasionally noticed street noise carried by the wind, though it wasn't enough to disrupt our sleep significantly. Overall, these are minor points in what was otherwise an excellent experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to others visiting Honolulu!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they made the check in extremely simple allowing me to store my bags in a friends room before my room was ready. Great facilities (beach towels, coffee in the morning), the pool/lobby area was lovely.

Super friendly staff, great location within walking distance of great restaurants and the beach. Appreciated the pool, water refill station, beach towels, and the cute coffee shop on site. Really appreciated the high quality body wash, shampoo, and conditioner! Felt amazing after a day at the beach. Room was super cute!

Walls were fairly thin and door wasn't completely sealed (could see light through at night) so could easily hear family next door coughing all night. Honestly though for the price, didn't bother us too much and would still stay here again.

The Surfjack is the perfect boutique hotel so close to the main strip of Waikiki although you feel completely out of the noise and crowds, it’s just the perfect getaway. On-site restaurant is fantastic and the Arvo coffee shop would definitely make some of the best coffee in Waikiki. What makes this place so special is the staff, exceptional service particularly from Whitney, Hoku and Salynda on the front desk ❤️

Great value for money and close to everything. Had a good-sized pool, the bar was great, and so was the restaurant.

It was a nice hotel with the sweetest staff. My second room was spacious and quiet. The first one was on the higher floor with the nice view but too close to the elevator (which is my personal disadvantage). Staff wasn’t super friendly and helpful. Pool is in the lobby, nice and clean, not overcrowded

Neighbors upstairs had a dog that would run around. Hotel is dogs friendly so you beed to keep this in mind

Parking is on the garage for 10 dollars/day, but it is just few streets away, about 5 minutes walk.

this is a real and nice boutique hotel - and offers great and clean rooms. the staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. there where not ressort or any other fees the offering for garage parking is top.

please maintain the shower heads, the have a lot of chalk, provide a simple map for the parking garage for international travelers that do not have access to online street maps.

Parking was only $10 per day but not onsite….good exercise though every morning when getting to car park. But at the end of the day of driving, could be a bit of stretch going back to hotel from parking.

The pool area was really nice, especially with the free coffee, sunscreen and drinking water. Nice music playing thoughtout the day and a cool vibe. The location is also really good!

Our room smelt strongly of mould/dampness and was a bit run down.

Great location in a walkable but quieter area Of Honolulu. We liked the comp coffee in the morning which we could enjoy with treats from the on site cafe.

Overall great hotel. Walls were a little thin so you could hear neighbours but we would come back here for a relaxed, affordable vibe.

We had a fantastic time at Surfjack. We thought it was great value for money. There was complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning, sun cream available by the pool, and a water filling station. The food and drinks at the bar were great, and the rooms were clean and generously sized, and so close to the beach. I will be recommending Surfjack to anyone visiting Waikiki!

Transit for 24 hours in HNL so nice to stay in Waikiki near great food and beach. Staff really lovely and helpful. 2nd visit to Surfjack. Hawaiian service without the plastic wrap that you get at every hotel in HNL

One of the best places in terms of service and value. Highly recommend. Shoutout to the girls at the main desk who were so kind and helpful. I have nothing to complain about, they made my trip better than it would have been otherwise.

Good experience overall, stayed for a few nights with family of 4. The couch in the room wasn’t the most comfortable, but for the price I think the hotel delivered great value. Restaurant is outstanding. Pool closes at 5:30 for kids. Location is very good, but parking is kind of annoying ($10/day at the Hyatt centric parking a couple blocks away, but car must be moved at least once every 24 hours).

This hotel has such a cute and energetic vibe! The rooms are nice and comfortable (could be a bit small if you’re staying for a long time). The staff are very helpful and friendly, and having an Arvo coffee downstairs was a lifesaver! Location is convenient and walking distance to the beach and many other places.

I love the vibe at this hotel. The staff were amazing, the place is very chill, and the rooms and other guests were great. I love the fact it is dog friendly and people would let you pay their doggos as they went out and walked them every day. Great food at the restaurant and a spectacular cafe attached at Arvo. Also, every night they had live music around the pool which just made the place seem more like a place you wanted to be at, rather than a "tourist hotel". Also, it is off the main beach so not quite so touristy (though of course, you don't get the water view - but also, are not paying outrageously for something you only glipse in the morning.). Really loved my stay at the Surfjack. Will be going back next time I'm back in Oahu.

Nitpicking really, since there are lots of food options nearby, but was a bit surprised the only breakie option was the Arvo Cafe next door which had limited food selection (tho yummy - and their coffee was aces.).

Close to beaches and nightlife

The property is in a great location to the beach and shops. The pool is great and loved the live music each night. Cool that it’s dog friendly as many pooches come and go. Nice friendly reception / cleaning staff

Our room wasn’t facing the pool, was on the other side and looked out at what I can only describe as a burnt apartment block (but I’m assuming pool views cost more). Like other comments, the barman needs to smile more!

My partner and I loved the overall vibe of the place. Very welcoming and friendly. Walking distance to everything, especially the beach. The food and drinks were great and we especially enjoyed the live performances offered in the evening. The balcony view to the city was remarkable and the room was fairly clean. Would come here again.

If it wasn’t for the offsite parking structure, this hotel would be perfect. It’s a short walking distance and it’s very doable, however, I like having the rental car close by whenever possible.

Room cleaned daily and quite spacious. Location was excellent, short walk to beech, main strip and beside bus stops for public transport. plenty of towels, for pool and beech use. Overall an excellent stay.
