Exceptional
We liked the proximity to everything in the city. We attended a two day concert at Ford Field and a Red Wings hockey game, both only requiring a 10 minute walk. It was much better than find parking and dealing with traffic. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were always clean. Every detail was well attended to.
The cost was high but the quality was exceptional.

STAY HERE!
Everything!! Best hotel I have ever stayed at. It’s so clean. Comfy beds. Big shower and bathroom. The staff was amazing!! The valet, the staff taking our bags to room. You felt like a queen/king staying here

Great food, comfortable room.
We stayed at the Shinola for a wedding. The food provided by the Shinola was incredible, the best wedding meal I've ever had. We had great service throughout the festivities. The venue was superb.
The carpet in our room needs cleaning. More attention to cleaning and touchups in our room is needed.

Best hotel in the city!
beautiful boutique hotel and wonderful across the board. food was great. location was great. staff was friendly. and everything is just nice to look at. the details really matter, and they were exceptionally detailed!
Plus it's nice to be able to pick up some shinola goods or madcap coffee in the mornings. and mister dips burgers and shakes are killer.

Luxury in the middle of the city.
The hotel was absolutely beautiful and conveniently located near attractions. Every staff member we encountered made us feel valued and comfortable. My daughter and I stayed following a concert downtown and it was so worth not having to fight traffic afterwards. San Morello, the hotel’s restaurant was outstanding

Our room did not have an amenities kit with cotton buds, cotton rounds, etc. Also not all staff was equally nice.

Great Escape.
The staff was excellent, they made sure we were completely comfortable. The entire hotel was very clean. Wish we could've taken advantage of more amenities (the only reason I gave it a 9).
The bathroom was a little tight. Liked the fact the sink/vanity was separate from the toilet, but the Quarter bathroom was really small.

Great, comfortable, and convenient stay!
The aesthetic, location and comfort. Staff were all very kind and welcoming. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfy.
Only 2 minimal critiques. 1) no one to open the door for you. It sounds so small and silly but we had 1 large suitcase, 2 carry on roller bags and two backpacks and it was a struggle just opening the double set of doors to get in. It would be nice to have an automatic door or something, but there was the option of calling the bellman. 2) kinda weird outlet placing. Everything was mostly on one side of the room so we were charging all devices on one side table and ironing on the same side of the room.Though there’s a ton of space in the room it made it feel somewhat cramped on one side. Very small critiques overall :)

Great location. Felt safe and secure. I'd stay again for a sporting event.
I was not informed of the breakfast options by the receptionist. Instead went to the Hudson Cafe.
Loved the Evening Bar. Service and atmosphere were great.
I was disappointed in the "Italian" restaurant. Could have tried to be a little more authentic with food and service.
Was there a gym or pool? If so, the receptionist did not tell us.
