Shinola Hotel, Detroit

The staff was exceptionally welcoming and kind. We arrived while an entire bridal party and guests were trying to check in between the wedding and the reception - and while we were willing to step aside and let them all get checked in - the staff insisted on helping all of us at once - and it was very efficient. The glass of champagne during check was a nice touch as well. Anytime we had questions during our stay everyone was eager to help. Seriously a wonderful experience!

Our first stay was right after they opened and we loved it. It has aged well, quality of the decor is a huge factor. Valet and Service were perfect. Very clean. Food was outstanding.

Typically stay at the David Whitney and I find that hotel to be more impressive in general. Warm welcome in lobby and valet.

On this trip one of the towels in our room had hard plastic or dried up caulking on it…. And there were big hard plastic tags in the pillows? Not sure why they were there but it was strange… almost like security tags…

Everything was amazing! The staff the location for the concert at The Fox, food and drinks, the room, the robes!

Very modern yet classic! The showers were great! The bed was so comfortable!

The hotel is gorgeous, San Morello and evening bar we're very enjoyable, and the location suited us well to go to a concert at Masonic Temple and see The Red Wings play. The hotel staff were all very friendly, professional, and accommodating. Hope to stay at The Shinola again someday soon!

Close to Comerica Park and Ford Field. We went to Tiger game and Lions game and was easy walking. The property is beautiful! Very clean and comfortable! Would book again when in Detroit.

The property was wonderful but the person who decided to race his motorcycle up and down the street late at night was annoying.

It was so aesthetic! Beautiful details and artwork throughout the property. The hotel is centrally located near so many attractions. However, the absolute best thing was the staff. Every single staff member we encountered was beyond friendly, accommodating and all around top tier! By far my best hotel stay! Thank you to everyone at Shinola. I will forever rave about our experience there!

Housekeeping didn’t come until late afternoon. To be fair she tried to come in the morning around 9 but we were still there. Out of th room all afternoon.

Noise on Woodward sounded like Indianapolis Speedway. Area rug in room was frayed and in terrible shape. No need to change rug until after the NFL DRAFT

Location was excellent. Vibrant surroundings, clean comfy rooms and the shower was amazing. Loved the Bluetooth book shelf speakers in the room and the large comfortable king sized bed.

The room rate was quite high $475 US for one night. We were there for a wedding. The room and facilties were beautiful.

This hotel was fantastic. From the moment the valet opened our car door, it was a wonderful stay. The room was large and light. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was great. Super soft towels. Great smelling bath accessories. Hardwood floors. And the location was fantastic. A 10 minute walk to sports venues and restaurants. We absolutely loved it!

The coffee was good but a little complex to make. A magnifying mirror would have been nice in the bathroom.

Gorgeously appointed rooms, supple decor, and quiet surroundings made this truly relaxing. The staff was lovely and friendly but not TOO friendly. The subtle elegance was perfect.
