Starling Residence, Geneva

The staff was extremely helpful. The availability of breakfast. A nice Spanish restaurant nearby. A public transport card included in the price. Modest rooms but everything is available for a stay near University.

Our apartment was lovely with a separate bedroom. The living area was large and the bathroom was nice. The portable air conditioner was wonderful! There was a tram station right outside the building and a convenience store nearby.

The sofa bed was make up when we arrived so we converted it back to a lounge however the floor was filthy underneath. Kitchen prep area was a little small and there was no milk frother for the cappuccino maker. Nobody emptied our bins even though we put the sign on our door.

My family and I stayed at the Hotel it was a great experience, the location has great access to the transport, there is a tram just in front of the hotel, the room was completed clean and cozy also no noise from the street, when we arrived. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Good location to the football stadium

Our room was overlooking the main street and so it was quite noisy with construction

The place looks a bit older than in the photos. Main issue would be the windows, they do not block the noise from the street at all.

The room was clean and functional and the hotel is very well located because of the awesome public busses and trams. Good breakfast in a pleasant dining room. Personnel was alert and very helpful.

The street noise. We had to upgrade the room to a small suite situated at the back of the hotel, at a cost though, since the room they offered was on the noisy street side. If one is a good sleeper it will not disturb you much unless you sleep with a window open. In the suite, one sliding door, separating the bedroom from the day room did not work. (it was out of the groove). The mirror above the sink did not work. One outlet near the window did not work. Airco for us was not necessary but might be noisy and cumbersome in summer since it is a separate big unit in the room!

Excellent knowledgeable, friendly staff, always able and willing to assist with any of our queries, especially Yanis at reception. The breakfast had a very good selection. It’s location is beside public transport with tram stop (15 & 17) just outside.

It was VERY hot and the portable AC was VERY loud. Moreover, when the tram passes by, it sound like tank rolling right across the backyard

The air conditioning is noisey and inefficient and the pillows are below average.

The location of the hotel is very convenient if you are visiting the university or participating events in the Uni Mail. Making tea or coffee in the small kitchen wa a plus. I did not use the kitchen otherwise but seems adequate if one wanted to use it. Free coffee in the breakfast room during the day was nice.

I did not use the AC unit in the room because it was very noisy.

The location of the property to the city centre is great. Tram stop outside front door. Paid car parking space available. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The property was very clean.

The furniture and accommodation areas are very dated although the cleanliness makes up for that. The air conditioning unit is very noisy and cannot be used throughout the night.

Good location and fair price

Due to shower design there was an overspray each time I used the shower resulting in a small damp patch on mat each time

At first bit of context for our trip. We were at Geneva with my daughter to watch Fin - Swi Women's Euro 2025 match. Our plan was to stay just one night there. For this purpose chosen hotel was perfect. Location was good. It was just nicely between stadium and city center. Hotel was easy to access by tram. Room was well big enough for us. Room was clean. Bathroom was clean and shower had nice water pressure. There was some kind of AC machine but we didn't use it because it was quite loud. But even though it was warm night it was not too warm for us and AC was not needed. Breakfast was simple but good. It was not something as Finns we were used to but there was bread, yogurt, eggs, cheese and of course coffee provided and it gave us well enough energy to continue our journey. All in all I must say that this hotel was perfect for us and if i go someday again to Geneva I will consider this hotel for my accommodation.

We had a generally pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, very central and easily accessible by public transport, with a tram stop right at the entrance. The room was spacious, had all the necessary facilities, and was reasonably clean. The morning receptionist was friendly and professional.

The afternoon check-in was a bit strange. The young man at the desk seemed very formal and theatrical in his manner. While I believe he meant well, the whole interaction felt awkward and overly dramatic. He asked me how old my children were. When I answered, he paused and said, “Ah… pas de chance… non… ça va pas,” which immediately made me worry I wasn’t sure if something was wrong with the booking. After a little suspense, he finally explained that we’d have to pay the full city tax. That could have simply been said directly. I already knew about the city tax, but he seemed surprised that I wasn’t more surprised, and continued with a long, unnecessary explanation. Then, when giving us the key card, he held it with both hands and presented it as if it were a royal medal, it honestly felt like we were receiving a sword from a king. It was over the top and slightly uncomfortable. At the end, he tried to wish us a nice stay in Russian, which felt a bit forced, almost as if he wanted to make a point that he knew my background. I do speak Russian, but I’m not Russian, and the way it was done made the whole moment feel even stranger. Overall: a good hotel with a great location, a comfortable room, and nice service in the morning. But the afternoon check-in could really benefit from a more natural and straightforward approach.

The portable air conditioner is very noisy — it managed to keep the night temperature comfortable (constant noise though); it could do little in the day when the external temperature was over 30 degrees. There was an unpleasant smell from the bathroom. The coffee machine in my room did not seem to work.

Rooms were close together. Nothing stood out as being top notch - completely fine for one night.

The parking lot was weird. Hotel prices in Geneva in general are very expensive.

My room was facing the main street which was quite noisy, especially Friday and Saturday night as there is a nightclub next door.

The noise from the portable AC they installed in the room once it’s on you cannot hear yourself. It’s very loud so we kept it off all the time. I wish they could improve installing a quieter AC.

Kitchenette very useful! especially microwave!! tea/coffee making facilities, all crockery and utensils provided! Very helpful staff!! assisted with getting very important documents signed and returned!!

Clean room and good location just front of the trum station. Breakfast is decent and good restaurants are nearby. It is my bavorit hotel to visit our customer in Univ. Geneva.

There is a staircase to reach the elevator. With heavy luggage such as tools and files for a business trip, it is a bit inconvenient.

The room is clean, has kitchette with basic tools and cutlery. The staffs are very helpful. The location is perfect. You can simply take tram no. 15 from Cornavin and the hotel is just in front of Acacias stop. Hertz is located in walking distance and route 1a entrance is just a few blocks away, so you can rent a car and drive to outskirts without being annoyed by confusing traffic inside the city.

You have to carry your suitcase several steps to reach the lift. No self laundry room in the hotel but you can find self laundry rooms nearby.
