The hotel is right in the heart of Downtown San Diego's Gaslamp District. Bars, breweries, and food are in mass supply here. Petco Park and The San Diego Convention Center are a 3-5 minute walk from the front door! The pineapple 🍍 theme is adorable.l and the bath robes are incredibley comfy. The complimentary drinks upon check-in as well as the free reusable water bottle are all fantastic extras for this super affordable stay!

Our room didn't have a view of anything except a wall but it didn't take away from the good. However, no affiliated parking lots could make parking very expensive.

I loved the entire stay! People say the rooms are small and yes they are, but they're clean, nice, comfortable, and so cutely equipped. I love the location as well. It's in the middle of everything. You can find food places and bars no matter which direction you walk. Overall, I loved everything they offered from the complimentary drink, to the bikes you can borrow, to the water bar, to the cute coffee area. I will definitely stay there again when I return to SD.

The only thing I would have to say is the room I stayed in had a see-through window straight to outside. I was somewhat uncomfortable that someone could see too much inside. Luckily the window faced an alley way that wasn't accessible to anyone but the employees.

We loved our 4 night stay here. It was amazing, great staff who were so welcoming and helpful.

Just the parking situation. If there’s an event in the area parking is so ridiculously expensive anywhere near the hotel. Luckily the event was ending on our arrival day so we checked in, dropped our stuff and went out until the evening when prices returned to normal. $85 for a night vs. $18.

The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The "double duvet" bedding was exceptional.

This was very likely the most comfy hotel bed I've ever slept in. Location was also great, and price for San Diego was really decent! It's a cute place and a great idea.

The casting function on my TV seemed to not be functional, but I was too tired to try to call and figure it out.

The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel offered some extras that really improved the stay—they offered complimentary drinks (incl alcohol), a water bottle for unlimited refilling of filtered water and free bike rentals. The location was close to the centre of action in Gaslamp but far enough to not to hear the noises.

The rooms are not very sound proof; you could hear the door slamming next door. There’s only one elevator so sometimes it’s a long wait.

Amazing staff! Located in the heart of downtown, a couple blocks from the waterfront. They have free bikes available for you to use and tour this beautiful city! Rooms are very comfortable and clean.

Customer service was very good But the parking was horrible had i known prior to booking i would have reconsidered you should offer a free parking voucher or vallée parking at a discounted rate

Hotel was in a great location, clean, warm and inciting. Staff was so friendly, and the amenities offered were amazing. Bed was so freaking comfortable and the room was impeccably clean.

Walking distance to Petco park, check out is till 12pm and you can ask for another hour for free. Bathroom size is big. Staff was friendly

The location is great for our first visit to the city. The staff were very helpful and the room was clean.

We found it a bit noisy with loud music and dogs barking. We wouldn’t complain but something worth knowing. Our room was small and it was difficult to get settled.

Hotel Z is a true gem. From the moment we booked the place, we knew we were in good hands. We were traveling with our two dogs and had started our trip at the Margaritaville down the street, which was a disaster. We ended up cancelling our stay there because our dogs were getting noise complaints from barking and there were no solutions from staff to move us to a quieter part of the hotel or move us into a room that didn't have large gaps around the entire door so that our dogs couldn't hear every little noise. We ended up calling Hotel Z, as I had seen that they are extremely friendly, explained the situation and they provided a solution right away! They suggested, without us even asking, if we'd like to stay in a room down the hall, to avoid other guests. Let me tell ya, this worked! No more dogs barking and we could finally enjoy our vacation. Additionally, everything is spotless, the rooms are cozy and they gave us four free drink coupons for all of our hassles with the other hotel. I would highly recommend staying here (and definitely NOT the Margaritaville)!

I stayed at Hotel Z, during my vacation, and it was fantastic! The location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk from the main attractions and surrounded by great restaurants. The room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable with little company “Maya the husky” :)) The staff was very friendly and helpful! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

The room had a funny smell and was dark with one small window and no outlook. The chairs were uncomfortable.

Staff were all SO friendly and provided true hospitality. All the little details were thought of including our dogs name on the welcome sign and doggy welcome package. Appreciate the complimentary check in drinks. Room was spotless. Felt safe and cared for. Thank you!

Great place and comfort! Omg the beds were amazing with puffy blankets I wish I had at home. And 1 min away from everything like restaurants and bars.

The place was amazing!!:) Looks just like in the pictures.. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially Cynthia and Lulu! Thank you very much!!! I extended my stay twice because of a flight cancelation, and was very happy to stay at the same place! The room was very lovely, it was equipped with everything I needed, especially the coffee machine ;-) The bed was so comfortable, and everything was just wonderful! The location was perfect for me, right in downtown, close to public transportation, restaurants and shops.

Pineapple theme is so cute. The beds and robes are so comfy. The amenities are simple but great - pineapple shaped cookies, cookie brewed downstairs, games in the lobby, free water bottles. Location couldn’t be better, walking distance from shops and restaurants.

This is a quirky but delightful property in the heart of the Gaslamp district. The little touches make it special. A special water bottle with a station in the lobby to refill (including sparkling water!) plus yellow robes and funky fun pillows. Cookies in lobby for afternoon coffee service. Area is central to many restaurants in San Diego (and a CVS).

Room a bit dark since window facing a wall! Could hear noises from people moving above us.

Extremely lovely themed hotel with a lot of attention to details that will delight you upon arrival. Bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the two individual duvets! My only regret is that I didn't have a chance to stay longer to enjoy it all.

The staff at reception was caring and helpful, specially Cynthia and Lulu. I enjoyed the free bikes a lot, I used them twice a day to excersise and get rid of the jetlag. Location is wonderful. Comfotable bed, good shower and outstanding towells (as they brag). Plenty of USB sockets around the room.

The shower faucet was too complicated, flow and tempretarure could be controled independetly, but not really and I almost scolded myslef a couple times. The "pine USB station" in my room was not working too well.
