Hotel Am Berg, Frankfurt

Large room, friendly staff, location was good for my visit. If I come back to Frankfurt, I'll try to stay here again.

The hotel itself is really interesting. It looks quite gothic and all the rooms have different themes. We stayed in the Chinese themed room which had its own birdcage with small soft toy birds. It was fun to explore the old building. Also the breakfasts were really good. You are waited on and brought rolls, cheeses/meat then a small black forest gateau as well as being able to grab yoghurt and cereal yourself. The staff are really friendly and I'd definitely come back when in the area. Location really near Frankfurt Sud station in the Sachsenhausen area so good for restaurants and near the museum area.

The building with a long and dignified history was comfortable and cozy, the staff was kind and helpful, and it was located in a quiet part of the city, a pleasant walk from the city center.

Our tenth or so stay at this delightful and charming family run hotel. Huge rooms with quirky and fun decor, great location and fantastic value for money.

We arrived in the evening when it was very hot. As with many places in Germany, there is no AC. To keep cool, they had closed the shutters on the windows. My room became bearable after a storm came through, but my son's room was like an oven. The person who greeted us had not explained how to open the windows and shutters. We were on the third level. Perhaps on a cool night the place could be pleasant. It is an interesting old building in a residential neighborhood. But our stay was very uncomfortable and we found the staff barely helpful. Anyone challenged by stairs would have difficulty getting to the rooms. Sorry to give such a negative review, as I know part of the problem was simply the heat. It was at least inexpensive.

The building looks like a fairy tales house. The room was big and clean, with lots of space and a nice balcony. The hotel has a wonderful garden, very quiet. They were so kind to allow me to use the tables in the garden to work at anytime, even the day of my departure. All the staff is very kind and helpful. It’s very easy to reach any time of the city in short time.

Cute hotel with character.

The hotel building is quite old, and I enjoy staying in places with history and character. The location is also great — cafés, restaurants, markets, and the train station are all nearby. The rooms are clean and have their own charm. The staff is friendly and welcoming UPD. I got a call from the hotel manager after all this situation and we had a nice conversation. Nice to know that hotel care about its reputation and guests experience.

Early morning I went out for breakfast, and when I returned, I was shocked to find that my room had already been cleaned and all of my belongings were gone. Later, I discovered that my things had been taken to the reception. Apparently, the hotel staff assumed that I had already checked out, which is why they entered and cleaned the room. I asked what made them think I had left — all my luggage was still in the room, and my car was parked right outside the main entrance. They also had all of my personal information, including my phone number and license plate. Even if they believed I had left something behind, no one tried to contact me to confirm. This wasn’t my first stay at the hotel, but it will likely be the last.

Great location in the best part of Frankfurt, comfortable rooms, great breakfast, very friendly staff who helped us to make the most of the trade show we were attending.

We had a wonderful one-night stay at this charming hotel! The atmosphere was incredibly cozy, and the building itself was full of character and charm. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it even more!

We booked a larger room and it was very spacious; beds were comfy; onsite parking was tight but available and it worked just fine; off the beaten path which was great; roomed warmed up well. staff available and very helpful. The place is older and makes its own noises but understandable. A great place with character.

Great location! And a really cute old mansion to stay in. Close to the train station and easy to get to the airport.

A nice house with some history behind it. Really good breakfasts. A peaceful area, but not far from the metro/railway station/shops/restaurants and the city centre.

It wasn’t perfectly clean, there were no air conditioners (a bit hot in summer). The furniture is already quite old but that had a scent of authenticity

its an easy walk from the South Station (Sudbahnhof) and the breakfast is great.

Just be prepared, if you have a heavy suitcase, it's a treak up the hill, then a few stairs (no elevator). But worth it for a nice view and quiet area in the center of Frankfurt

The property itself is quite beautiful and has a retro feeling to it. The rooms are dated but clean and spacious. The overall feel of the room takes you back in time. The attached balcony is a bonus.The staff overall was just great... excellent hospitality from both front desk and restaurant staff. The restaurant itself is also quite beautiful traditional style that gives you a whole different experience in the morning while having your breakfast also overlooking a green back space

The bathroom could have had a proper shower, instead it only had a tub and a hand held shower. And pillows were too thin for my liking. Could have been more pillows or slightly firmer ones.

This is an old hotel but kept in fine shape..;everything is kept in original condition. it is like sleeping in a vintage museum. keep it like this !!!

The hotel is a unique place where to stay in Frankfurt. Well connected to the City Center and the Airport, Hotel am Berg provides its guests with a deep dive into an historical residence surrounded by nature. Staff is really welcoming and caring. Breakfast is very well balanced and makes use of fresh local products, an experience that personally I highly recommend!

The room was enormous and decorated with stunning quality ?50s furniture. A refreshing change from staying in a ‘sterile box’. The room was quiet and had a small balcony. The hotel was within walking distance to the Alte Stadt and local train station. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in our room. And a ‘small world problem’ is the continental pillows, as an Australian I don’t think I’ll ever get used to them.

The bed cover (blanket) is small. Bathroom is fine but the bathroom fan is quite enthusiastic, too fast and a bit noisy

The toilet has a slight smell. I check in very late, and the staff guided me how to do it when I called. but I think they can also leave their customers a message in advance to avoid unnoticed late check in without anyone there.

Very big room with comfortable bed and large table that we needed as we had to work during the day. The location closed to südbahnhof was ideal to travel within Frankfurt.

The hall and the entrance didn't have the Charme that one can expect in such building. I had the impression they didn't invest much in making the hotel welcoming.

The rooms were large and spacious and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional and the staff were extremely friendly. Location is fantastic as just a short trip on the train to the centre of town and walking distance to many restaurants and bars.

Super spacious room, very comfortable and warm. The breakfast at the hotel easily carries you throughout the day, with a rich continental style meal. The staff is always helpful and available.

The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so it might be tricky for guests that can't do the stairs. Also, I think the rooms could do with some refreshments for guests (bottled water, instant coffees and teas).

The hotel is an old stately home that has been divided up into hotel rooms. Great breakfast in a grand room. the hotel was a little quirky, but lots of fun. Each room is very different. Ours was accessed by a grand staircase and had a Japanese furniture theme while our friends has a groovy 60's colour and decor theme and was accessed by another set of stairs that were probably the servants staircase many years in the past. Some great walking around the neighborhood and very nice local restaurants nearby.

Charming and unusual old building within walking distance of the old town. Easily reached from the airport by bus, train or taxi. Friendly and helpful staff. It was an ideal place for a stopover between flights.

Excelllent locaction close to Südbhnhof from where I could easily get to the city of Langen (where I had an appointment in the afternoon, and to)the airport where I needed to b next morning The castle-like buildlng was sort of pittoresque and easy to recognize

An old world hotel in a good location. Walked all around town and found some nice eating locations. Breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. A good place to stay with parking all be it at a small cost.

Appliances are "old" (doesn't work). It is tough to stay in hot nights.

Noble 19th century vibes, very beautiful house. Clearly different from the standard 08/15 hotel. Quiet neighborhood, in walking distance to train station Frankfurt Süd.
