Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

The staff provide the most excellent and friendly service. I lost my tablet in the hotel, thinking that I may have left it in the business centre. I called reception, but because it was midnight, the business centre was closed. However, 30 minutes later we received a call that they had found it and simultaneously there was a staff member at the door delivering it. I am so grateful to the staff who so quickly found it. Thank you so much.

we didnt bother with the breakfast as there were so many eateries next door the KLCC shopping mall at the door step did loosen the purse strings and much money was spent and a good time had

A lovely hotel in a great location - easy to get everywhere We had a fantastic room - spacious and comfortable - with a fantastic view of both the Petronas Towers and KLCC Park We enjoyed the pool and facilities at Aqua. The staff on level 3 were wonderful - they gave my partner a tour of all the facilities. Excellent gym Housekeeping were excellent.

Unfortunately it wasn’t the impeccable service you’d expect from the MO. Big queues for breakfast at the weekend followed by long waits for coffee and the receptionist didn’t even apologise for the wait - just said it was high occupancy Queues at reception and they didn’t put more staff on. And they didn’t deal with the preauthorisation on my credit card properly and at the time of the review have not responded to 2 emails. Overall that was rather disappointing and not at the level of other top class hotels.

The venue for breakfast is Under performing. Long queues at the entrance. The staff cooking the breakfast were unable to keep up with the demand from the breakfast people.

Terrible service at the breakfast. Please do not take in so many reservations where the breakfast cannot handle the crowd on a weekend.

Excellent location, adjacent to the twin towers, Surya KLCC Mall and many other attractions. The room was spacious and had a great view. The breakfast spread was very good. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Mandarin Oriental in KL is an outstanding hotel with a truly unbeatable location—right next to KLCC Park and the Petronas Towers, offering easy access to shopping, dining, and business districts. The service here is consistently top-notch; the staff are attentive and go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The outdoor pool and well-equipped gym are both excellent and maintained to a high standard. Unfortunately, the only downside is that the rooms could use better soundproofing—you may hear corridor traffic or neighboring rooms, which can be an issue for light sleepers. Apart from that, this is one of the best luxury stays in Kuala Lumpur for comfort, facilities, and exceptional hospitality

The staff is exceptionally kind and warm from their heart. Especially the doormen who are always kind and caring give a feeling of being at home. Such special and warm people also at the pool area where one was looked after. The Spa is fantastic, I had a 2 h treatment with Mini from Bali and it was a 10/10 absolutely great. The location next to Suria KLCC is very convenient as there are good restaurants and a very nice grocery store. The historic building has a special Charme and warm feeling.

The food quality is not up to MO standards. Compared to the MO in HK, Bangkok and Dubai the food was in all restaurants I tried and at the breakfast buffet very disappointing in quality. And other guests I spoke to confirmed the same to me. I even overheard a conversation of a gentleman in the club lounge who was shocked how bad the bread was. The bread at breakfast is below anything I have ever tried, its old, stale and pre packaged breads, nothing really fresh, even the quality of fruit not that great. The worst cesar salad I ever had which was disappointing as the MO in Bangkok has a great quality for food. No fresh green juices, also pre made. If I wanted all pre made I could buy it from the store but even the supermarket next door has better quality items. The pool is not very clean, I had black hair tangled around my hands several times which I find kind of gross, shower and washroom next to the pool is dirty and smelly
