Close to everything; friendly staff; quiet. Good breakfast in the morning.

No elevator but understand as it is a historic building. But still not bad and staff will help with bags if needed.

The location is excellent, facing the northern edge of La Fontaine Park. Everyone in the staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and updated. Bathroom was spotless. Towels were fluffy. Toiletries provided. Thoughtful attention to detail. Although I didn’t opt for the continental breakfast, it looked well stocked and excellent. There’s coffee and tea provided 24/7. There’s a parking ticket machine located across the street from the hotel.

I cannot think of a negative. (And if you read my reviews on Booking.com, this may be a first.)

Nice clean room with two Queen beds and on-suit and nice and quiet. Good to have a fridge and coffee making facilities in the room, decent size wardrobe with ironing board and iron. Very good continental breakfast and great that you have the option to make use of a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your own food, there is drip coffee in the kitchen and a variety of teas to help yourself to. Staff very friendly in particular I’d like to mention the very friendly receptionist Maha who was very informative regarding places to visit and eat and was a delight to talk to. Beautiful clean boutique hotel. Perfect location across the street from a beautiful park. Great breakfast ( additional cost but worth it) and around the corner from a coffee/ croissant shop. Sit in the park and enjoy watching kids play, bikers in the park.

Cozy, clean, and central to everything. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean, the bed fresh and comfortable. A+

The room was small, but exactly what we needed as we were mainly out and about in the neighbourhood. The location was perfect, close to everything we needed but not noisy.

Breakfast was fine, but not worth the price they are charging. We also had an issue getting in one evening (we extended our stay but our keys were not updated to work after hours).

The location was excellent. The deck was a great place to relax after a long day of walking.

Our room was great with a separate suite in addition to the bedroom and there was a tub in the bedroom which i thoroughly enjoyed! The Continental breakfast was delicious and we didn't have to go hunting for a place to eat in the a.m.

The only issue was that no one offered to carry bags upstairs which the description on their website said they would. It would have been helpful as there were a lot of stairs.

Small hotel, well located but very quiet. Anyone at the front desk was helpful, patient & spoke English (bonus).

I had T walk 2 flags guys of stairs. In fairness, I knew our choice in advance and they offered to bring up the suitcases and bring them down

Coffee is available at any time of day, a nice bonus. The room was sunny with east window. The location was lovely as we could get on the bike path. The park across Rue Rachel is also very enjoyable. What a nice stay !

The property is close to a bustling park and busy neighborhood (but not loud). Really good restaurant options close by and not too far from old Montreal. Not in a particularly touristy area. Room was spacious and clean.

The place was quite charming but the best thing about it was how lovely and helpful all the staff members were. They went out of their way to be welcoming and assist us in any way possible.

Made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I had some motorcycle trouble and they let me sit in the lounge area for hours after check out helping myself to free coffee etc snd then they looked after my excess luggage for 2 weeks. Amazing room so well equipped. A great breakfast and in a wonderful location.

There were no snacks in the kitchen, or in the fridge, I remember liking this small detail a few years back. Breakfast was nice but the croissants were not great and the bagels were not even Montreal bagels. The selection of cheeses was boring, no real interesting cheeses. I'll go out for breakfast next time!

We loved the location & the staff- they were so helpful & friendly. Our room was on the 3rd floor so there were a lot of steps. Staff helped with our luggage. It’s showing its age & the bathroom needs an update. We paid for breakfast & Enjoyed the various options.

Staff moved us to a larger, nicer room upon request. Breakfast was plentiful and good, not inc. in our rate. Location was great for walking around this neighborhood in Montreal (not to walk to Vieux Montreal).

We knew ahead of time and no surprises, but the flight of stairs to the upstairs rooms is long.

Excellent location. Walking distance to the park and pedestrian streets. Super super clean (the cleanest we have seen in a long time! Bravo!). Quiet. Very pleasant.

One major weakness is the incoherent match between the A/C and the bedding. The bedding was made of a thick comforter that would have been great in the winter, but not in June. Especially not since the A/C in "central" and cannot be controlled by the guest. Furthermore, the central A/C temperature was not constant. First morning we woke up and the room was 21.5C (71F). That was decent. We were hot at night (mainly because of the comforter) but it was manageable. The next morning we work up and it was 24C in the room (75F) and it had been even warmer during the night. Both of us got sweaty at night and woke up often because of that. It's not so much the heat that was unbearable but the winter comforter was too much in that heat... Suggestion : add a fan in each room and 2 light blankets (one is not enough if the A/C is set stronger). These should really be "in the room" and not on request as it's impossible to know what temperature the room will be at. Other than that, we highly recommend the place! NOTE: it appears "heat" is not central and is controllable by guests, so a cool weather stay would be perfect!

The location is amazing, across from the Parc de la Fontaine and just a 5min walk from the hustle and bustle of rue Mont Royal. Not sure you can experience the awesomeness of the Plateau any other way. My room was on the 3rd floor. I only had one small suitcase thankfully as the stairs were steep. But my room was lovely -small but spacious enough for me. Very clean. The bathroom was perfect. I had two big windows and a large desk. The bed was comfy too. I went to a restaurant recommended by the staff and had an amazing dinner with enough leftover for breakfast. The staff also helped me figure out pay parking for my stay there -I had a great parking spot right in front of the hotel for only $8 overnight.

Maybe the pillows could've been flatter. Otherwise I liked everything else.

we chose this guest house because it is near our grandson's apartment. we wanted to spend time and dinner with him so the location was perfect. however, we had no idea the place itself would be so wonderful. quiet, and beautifully decorated. would definitely stay there again.

The breakfast was fantastic. Great variety of real food. The staff was very friendly and helpful; they provided us with a wine opener and some wine glasses to enjoy a bottle of wine out on the terrasse.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Maha who works at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. We got the Executive Queen room, it was very spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The location was great! It's right across from a big park, in a lovely walkable neighbourhood with lots of great restaurants.

Great location for cafes, restaurants. Lovely shady park across the road, good for a walk in the summer. Room was comfortable and very clean although a bit on the small side. However, it was the standard room and the house is very old so that is understandable. Lovely breakfast, fresh fruit and plenty of cereals, meats and cheese etc. We enjoyed our time at Auberge de La Fontaine and would recommend to others.

Cosy, very friendly and helpful staff. Modern room, good breakfast including fresh fruit. Good value, would return. Had problem with room being misrepresented but manager apologised and offered us free breakfast to compensate and a small discount as room was v hot despite a fan. An unexpected bonus. Staff were excellent and very accommodating. Arrived at beginning of spring - unseasonably hot so air con not yet functional.

Windows tricky to open, wasps liked our room( not hotel’s fault!) shower not ideal for washing hair but ok. Shower a bit old fashioned otherwise bathroom was good.
