Fantastic staff, the lovely chap at reception (so sorry didn’t catch his name) is an absolute credit to the place. This was our second stay (the first being when we got married), and it was equally as amazing.

The only thing I didn’t like was checking out and going home! Could’ve happily moved in!

The staff on reception are so kind and hospitable. Very friendly and show you around the THREE lounge areas as well as your room. Streamlined, efficient and just very warm people 😊

There is nothing I didn’t like … I have stayed in many hotels in London and elsewhere. This doesn’t feel like a hotel. It’s beautiful. I ❤️ it!

The whole ambience and unique style. In a great location.

No dislikes as such but the hand held shower mixer was a bit difficult to use without making the bathroom very wet.

The location is excellent. A great spot to walk anywhere. The room was great. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom and toiletries. The staff are all very friendly. We were upgraded due to being a quieter couple of days.

The only issue was the lack of coffee facilities in our room.

Such a beautiful hotel, the decor is gorgeous with lots of thoughtful details. Our room was lovely, and we also really enjoyed relaxing and having a drink in the communal areas. Lovely breakfast, and there is so much to explore in the local area so a great location too.

Many rooms don’t have showers, just a bath.

We booked a double room for one night while going to the theatre. The team were super friendly and we very much enjoyed meeting Begeera, the hotel cat. The hotel is very cool, with a library area and a conservatory with log fires. Plenty of cosy places to sit and read. The wooden panels make this hotel really unique. The room we had was all good, with a comfy bed, TV, and nice bathroom (with an actual bath).

Our room had no shower; it had just a bathroom. Not a negative necessarily, I just prefer a shower to a bath. To be honest, there's nothing they could do about this as the room wouldn't fit a shower. The bath is a lovely freestanding one, but you just can't help getting water all over the floor when using the shower attachment. Also, as the room only has a bath, it's strange that they don't provide any bath foam (bubble bath) and instead give you shower gel. The only other small criticism is that there is no kettle in the room, so we couldn't make a cuppa in bed in the morning.

Always a pleasure to stay here.

The quiet ambiance was a delight and crisp cotton bed linen lead to a good night's sleep. The front desk staff were attentive without being gushy. The room's minibar was well stocked and the room service food and drink options should meet nearly everyone's needs.

Can't think of a thing I didn't like.

Beautiful and very characterful Georgian building, helpful staff, gorgeous cat, comfy beds, honesty bar. Wonderfully quiet area. Like going back in time.

Bedrooms are very dark - a good reading light would be useful. You have to ask for a kettle etc. Would be nice if they were in every room. Only one very small bottle of water is free - otherwise you have to pay for drinking water.

Bed was firm and comfortable. Shower was good. Very good access to public transport.

Bed was hot at night, duvet was heavy. Lack of drawers available to really unpack.

Poor water pressure and water controls in the bathroom. Low lighting made it very difficult to read in the room.

Everything was very nice and very classy. We very much enjoyed the tea service.

Our bathroom was downstairs in the suite. My wife was still recovering from a broken ankle so it was a little difficult to get to. The claw foot tub was divine though.

everything about this place is a delight. the festive vibes were a wonderful touch. the colour palette of the rooms is exquisite so that everything looks like you are living in a painting. Love the library, bars, and history of the place.

check in is slow. but that is all i have.

Great location and fab room service!

Got upgraded to a bigger room as it was my first time staying with them. Comfortable bed, beautiful bath, clean facilities. It was just perfect. Great location from Farringdon Station, interesting history, particularly the gin's history, and liked the nod at the gin bar. Plus, they have a house cat called Bagheera! This was a treat for me, and they went above and beyond to make my trip special. Plus, there is a great selection of breakfast that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own bed or downstairs.

You can hear other people in their rooms, but you get that with old buildings, and it didn't really bother me.

This is a wonderful hotel and we were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a suite which was amazing. The hotel is in a great location near Farringdon tube and Smithfield, a very buzzy and historic area. it is in a lovely old building decorated with a lot of character and taste. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There are lovely public spaces including a library and conservatory and the suite we had was huge and very comfortable and luxurious

I couldn't fault it

We loved everything. Our room and the hotel were amazing, the overall atmosphere very relaxing, welcoming, luxurious and characterful, the staff were lovely and couldn’t have been nicer, the breakfasts were delicious. We went for a special occasion; our stay was a real treat and everything we could have hoped for. Thank you so much!

The quirky taps in the sink were a little small so bit tricky getting toothbrush in to stream - but really ! Everything else was so lovely
