Pest-Buda Design & Boutique Hotel, Budapest

We have lived in Budapest for more than 15 years and have a very good understanding of the unpredictably variable service that you can find here, which at its worst is manifested by an antagonistic "customer is always wrong". The Pest Buda hotel and all other Zsidai Group establishments in Budapest are an oasis in this space - friendly, customer focused, non-corporate and great value. Highly recommended for accommodation or just eating out.

Gorgeous, quaint, stylish, comfortable hotel! So charming, yet with all the modern conveniences. Loved working at the desk with the windows open to the charming street below. The style of the decor was gorgeous. The walkable location to all the castle sites and restaurants was amazing. We loved this hotel.

It’s hard to think of anything. There is a large construction project across the street as they restore a very old building. Sometimes at night, all the plastic they have covering the building would start flapping if there was wind, and in the middle of the night I had a hard time figuring out what the noise was. It’s a fairly quiet sound, but it’s good to know what it is.

Perfect hotel in a perfect location inside Buda Castle area. Transportation was very easy to downtown. The cleanliness was impressive.

One slight niggle, the bed was very very firm !

The property was in a fantastic location, a couple of hundred yards from the church and fisherman’s bastion with fantastic views of the city and river. The hotel was spotless, our room was beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. when checking in I left my bag with cash and passports in the taxi, the hotel manager rang the taxi firm as I had no information and arranged for the bag to be brought back. I cannot fault this hotel or staff. an amazing stay!

What an amazing experience we had! We visited Budapest for a few days of combining exploring the city with relaxation and this was the best choice we could have made. We stayed at the atelier suite and it was one of the best stays we have ever had. It is located in the heart of Buda Castle and it is very close to all the sights of that side but also close to a bus station that can take you straight to Pest. We mostly used scooters to be honest but also the bus which had a very pretty itinerary! The room was amazing and maintained clean and tidy always! Exactly as pictured! The staff was very helpful with everything we needed and any questions we had regarding the city or our stay and always kind and friendly. Breakfast was also great and we had the best croque madame ever! We highly recommend!

Central location, friendly stuff, one of the best restaurant

This fabulous Hotel really lives up to its name! The design elements are really unique and well thought out for the comfort of guests. We love the attention to detail. The staff were fantastic ...Stephen and all of the staff and restaurant staff were very helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the castle area with its wonderful restaurants and architecture! We hope to come back soon!

Great location, excellent rooms, relaxed cafe/bistro with really friendly staff.

Amazing, friendly staff. Power sockets are not easily accessible for toddlers (our daughter is 20 months old, YMMV). Clean, spacious room. Comfy bed, with multiple options for pillows. My wife appreciated this a lot and found the memory foam pillow very comfortable. Very good location.

Since it is a historical building, it has the wooden floors that creak a bit. It was not an issue for us, but if you, your partner, or children are light sleepers, keep this in mind. Tip: Wearing slippers reduced creaking.

The location was fantastic and the restaurant great.

The unfortunate noise from the construction across the road. Also would have liked our bins emptied, towels replaced and drinking water daily.

Right in the heart of Buda Castle - real historical charm

Amazing place, good location, clean apartment, very helpful service. Room was exactly the same as it was on the pictures. We had 1 issue with rented room which was sort out immediately.

Historical, quiet location, interesting

Excellent location in the castle district though awkward to walk back from the Pest side whilst the chain bridge is closed. Lovely little terrace to enjoy the warm weather. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Lots of renovation work opposite so will be superb when completed but a bit intrusive if sitting outside to eat.

The room was in a great location and very clean the breakfast was great and the restaurant food was fabulous. The location was absolutly superb right in the Buda Castle precint near the Cathederal and mant restaurants.

Great historic property in the heart of Castle District. Very quiet and peaceful. They we’re very accommodating about storing our bicycles, we really appreciated it.

Location is really amazing in the middle of Buda castle - fantastic for visiting some historical places and have a nice time in beautiful place. Room is not big but very comfortable, very nice design.

In my opinion you should inform upfront that the included breakfast it is only french breakfast. I think for this price you expect at least to have some choice - especially for people who not eat sweets in the morning can be a problem. The other options from menu are available but with additional fee. Also coffee capsules should be available in the room always- it is maybe a small thing but normally you always get this.

We loved the employees and the room! The location is on the Buda side near a lot of popular spots! The Buda side is a bit calmer and quieter than the Pest side. The Frenchy Breakfast is an added bonus! Would definitely recommend this hotel and location.

The AC was not turned on yet, so it was a bit toasty and we were unaware of the daily pet fee. Overall, we would recommend though! we truly enjoyed our stay!

The location was excellent if you like to be out of the way of the hustle & bustle of the city. The room was excellent, the bed was very comfortable and the easy access to the Fishermans Bastian was definitely a bonus, especially if you make the effort to get up for sunrise. There are plenty of very good restaurants in the area, we tried a couple and we weren't disappointed. Despite being away from the city centre there is a regular bus, No.16 which makes it easy to make the trip across the river.

Only a few things. The lack of choice for the included breakfast was disappointing, but the croissants were quite nice. To be greeted with a note saying that just one coffee pod for the stay seemed a bit on the tight side bearing in mind the room rate. It turned out that there were no pods in the room so I had to call down to reception for one. They gave me 4 in the end so for 2 people over 2 nights which was ok. The last thing which was out of control of the hotel was the building work directly outside the room. It started early on Saturday at around 7am so not great. There was no mention of this when booking.
