I requested a first floor room but got a room on the fourth floor without an elevator

Their breakfast was nothing. Just fruit and cereals. We had to out to have breakfast. There was no one to help us to carry our luggage. Very hard for me and my baby

Great hotel with big and clean room, even a bit old school. Good location. Good breakfast.

The host was most gracious. She is very accommodating and responsive. For anyone who has not been to Toronto, she is an excellent ambassador to the city, providing recommendations for activities and advice for how to get around. She wanted to make sure we felt welcome, and she achieved that goal. Do not hesitate to stay here.

These historic homes are just beautiful. The rooms are well furnished with very comfortable bedding. It is a beautiful neighborhood.

The breakfast was embarrassing..really lacking. I would expect a charming place like this to do something a little special. Toast,bagel, cold cereal, hard boiled egg and an orange…bleak and boring.

It was very warm and inviting. I felt like a guest in an historic home. Porch areas with seating. Easy check in and entrance. Right on the free shuttle line to riverfront.

The inn is made up of a series of elegant historic old mansions which are all very nice and atmospheric. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is great, very convenient to many of the museums with nice restaurant options not far away. The continental breakfast did not have a very wide array of options nor was well-stocked so was the big disappointment. Also out first night dome of the younger guests made a lot of noise partying late at night. That was quieted after a while. Parking on premises is available for an extra fee.

Location is excellent. We were able to easily walk to the DIA and restaurants. Also just a few minute drive to the Fisher Theatre and other locations we visited. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. Enjoyed learning some of the history.

Bed was a little soft.

I really liked the location. It was near a lot of museums, some within walking distance. I really liked the setup of the houses and how clean ours was. The bed was very comfortable. Easy parking and very kind staff. There is water and tea available downstairs at all times within your house, which is very nice.

We love the place next to the Derroit Institut of Arts. There is a cosy small and neat backyard. The Lady at the reception (MJ) was very friendly and nice. There are several locations to go about for dinner and bars, the area is clean and safe next to the campus.

I liked the historic setup and cleanliness of the rooms. Location is at heart of Detroit city and very close to popular attractions such as Detroit Institute of Arts.

It's a beautiful place located within walking distance of so many Detroit attractions. The bed was so comfortable!

Great location - minutes walking distance from the DIA and other museums. Our room was in a restored Victorian mansion, so lots of old charm and details. There was a lounge area on the ground floor if you wanted to sit and relax. The bed was a double and it took up most of the room, but it was very comfortable. Some free and paid parking options on the street; otherwise, it cost $15 plus tax per night for hotel parking. Coffee and light breakfast options were set out in the building next door to us from 7-10 am. Coffee, toast, cereal, hard boiled eggs - enough to provide sustenance until lunch. Staff were friendly.

To be fair, we booked the “budget” room so we knew it would be small. In fact, the woman who checked us in made sure to mention this, probably so we would keep our expectations in check. The double room was at the top of 3 flights of stairs (no elevator). Not a lot of space to put bags and things. No fridge. There was a window air conditioner and the bed was right up against it (no headboard) so the air blew on whoever was on that side. It had also clearly been leaking so there were towels stuffed all around it. Shower took a while to heat up and the pressure was weak - likely due to old plumbing.

Historic. Clean. Well maintained. Front porch chairs and lovely lounges. Great front desk staff at both check in and check out. They walk you to your room. Nice breakfast. Easy parking. Close to public transportation. Easy walk to museum district.

Breakfast was a little bland.

I love the old historical building. It’s beautiful and cozy. It has the old world charm and romance you’d expect which made me love it more. The continental breakfast is good and if you want something more hearty, hit up BasBlue next door (weekdays) which was yummy. The location is perfect for the QLine that is free and takes you through downtown. For those new to an old property, it’s squeaks and creaks which is something to get used to - not criticism, just a note.

The weekday rates are fair but I thought the weekend rate was high.

Excellent B&B, deservedly top rated. The staff is attentive, the suite included bedroom, bathroom and sitting area. It was spotless, well-appointed, with an old world feel and modern touches. It was a 3-storey walk-up, so you get your exercise. There are 5 buildings, and at least 3 are disabled accessible to serve all abilities.

The location is perfect! Right next to the DIA and Qline stations. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe. The buildings and rooms are unique. Not a lot of choices for breakfast but the foods taste good.

The location was great-a short walk to museums, etc. Free breakfast had a lot more variety than listed on-line. And the staff was wonderful-we wanted a little history of the site and, wow, did we get it. Everything and everyone was great

On booking.com it was listed as a queen room, but had a king bed listed as well. I’m not sure it was even a queen bed. The light on the balcony stayed on all night-not a huge issue, but we couldn’t turn it off and even with shades, it shone in. The bathroom could have used another side table or something near the shower-not a lot of room to set anything on

Very unique and had a calming vibe. The staff was outstanding! The bed and bedding was phenomenal!

A few extra towels would have been appreciated, if nothing else an extra hand towel. The room needed a 2nd trash can. Also an addition of a small table by the chair. We had requested extra pillows, that must have gotten lost in the message relay. Lastly when I booked the room l requesting a king size bed it showed me a particular room, which I thought that was the room I was booking. The room we received was a totally different room. The price was a bit high in addition to paying for parking. When asked about parking I didn’t realize the cost was per night.

A special location, very beautiful and quiet. It is very close to the city center and very easy acces from highway. The rooms were clean, everything needed was prepared and the bed mattress was of good quality.

We didn't like the breakfast, although the recommendation said it was fabulous. The bread was a little old and the food offer limited. Maybe the price is a little high, but the location makes up for it.

The hotel room was great, clean and nice and old. The building and the rooms have a special flair.

Location to DIA (Detroit Institute Art) was within walking distance. We didn't know there was a free Q-line to down town that we would have used if we knew about it.

Room was spacious, elegant, and clean. Bed was very comfortable with an ample amount of pillows. There was a good selection at breakfast, which was Continental, including fresh fruit and a variety of beverages. Highly recommend a stay here. Will definitely be returning!!

Had some difficulty getting the conditioner out of the complimentary bottle. Would recommend adding an additional chair, or a loveseat to the sitting area for the room we stayed in. There was only one comfy chair. Minor inconveniences. Other than that it was a fantastic stay.

The location was perfect for visiting the Detroit Art Institute. The room was comfortable. The house was quiet and very nice for relaxing between activities.

The bathroom towels were small and one was very old.

Gorgeous space

One of the house keepers just walked in with a key without knocking while I just got out of the shower two hours before check out time.

The room was beautiful with the big windows and the bed was very comfortable. I’m pretty tall so I was so excited about how big the tub was. The parlor was beautiful aswell and the service was great.

Continental breakfast with cereal and fruit in the peaceful living room suited me perfectly. Location in a salubrious corner just north of the downtown area and a stones throw from the Institute of Art is unbeatable in Detroit.

Beautiful Inn located near the Q line, walkable to the DIA. All the staff was so helpful and the breakfast was healthy and delicious.

The buildings themselves are stunning and a sight to see, number one. The location is wonderful and within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and museums in Midtown. Everyone that worked there was so friendly and definitely helped make our experience memorable. Parking is easy and off the street. The beds and pillows are SO comfortable. Breakfast was decent, pretty average continental breakfast. Free coffee!

Price is high, but pretty standard for Detroit it seems. Nothing actually to complain about though :)

This place is SPECTACULAR! IT'S GORGEOUS! We had a hockey game to see on NYE. It was the closest place to book. These ARE GORGEOUS, VICTORIAN, MINI, MANSIONS! 1879 restorated fire places and staircase to DIE FOR! SPECTACULAR ARCHITECTURE!!! When you finally are done takeing in how stunning these homes are: the bed is so comfortable. I'm telling you, I'm a snob. I don't do the "economy in". 5 star is sometimes not good enough. These beds are all of the comfort I've ever needed in my life. Pillows and bedding 10/10. Couldn't ask for better. Staff were awesome. This place exceeded excellence in my book.

I couldn't even dream of a negative even if I tried. Our room ended up being haunted, it was AWESOME.
