The Dolder Grand, Zurich

Everything in the hotel was perfect. From the reception staff to the gym, everything is 5 star level

The location for solo travelers who go to Zurich for the 1st time is a bit far. Prepare yourself to pay at least 30 euros every way you go from central zurich to the hotel. If this is not a problem for you, enjoy! Besides the distance, i Would definitely come back to the hotel!

If this place is a 5 star hotel, then every other "5 star" hotel I've been to is a 3 star.

Expensive but worth it. Fantastic check in and friendly helpful staff. Overall service was exceptional, we are in The Restaurant, having the 6 course tasting menu - amazing experience.

Very nice SPA area, great location and lots of arts in the hotel.

Couple of no go happened during our stay: 1.) we got a room in a historical part of the Building, which was a surprise but had some charm although the rooms are smaller and balcony can hardly be used due to size and location. The extra bed for our son was the cheapest possible „Feldbett“. After I complained („we don’t have others, you can book a single room extra but for a charge“) we somehow got a better one. And this all for 1.250€ per night (no breakfast included!) 2.) hotel has „no kids under 12“ in SPA policy which of course, I checked before. My son was registered 13,5 by presenting his passport upon check in. Nevertheless I was asked at SPA reception again and stated his age. Couple of minutes later (I was in SPA!) I had a missed call by reception regarding the age of my son! This was so annoying. Better check all your customers wearing bathing shorts in Sauna, this is much more of a problem.

20 min from airport, 30 min walking to city center, excellent infrastructure including sports activities, superquite and private territory, absolutely comfort, fantastic panoramic view, pleasant terrace in restaurant, nice design, a lot of flowers, positive Zuri vibes, quick wi-fi. A lot variety of dishes on breakfast even for kids, on the other hand, I only would like to add smoked salmon and avokado with fresh pressed and no cold smoothies for health food fans.

Hotel was very nice. Staff friendly.

I didn't like the fact that I called them to release funds that were held by my cc for 30 days! I asked them to send over documentation and they never did. A little disappointed about that.
