The Dolder Grand, Zurich

I had a truly memorable stay at The Dolder Grand. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional!

The design and atmosphere of the hotel stood out immediately. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and it's so quiet

One of the highlights for me was the spa and wellness area. It exceeded our expectations regarding the spa amenities cause they have a lot!

The views from the hotel are also worth mentioning most especially during mornings having breakfast at the breakfast room.

Location was great too: it felt peaceful and exclusive, yet still convenient for getting into the city center.

Overall, the combination of top-notch service, elegant design, outstanding spa facilities, and beautiful views made my stay at The Dolder Grand truly special. I highly recommend it to anyone!!

The only thing I didn’t like? That I eventually had to check out.

Breakfast and location

At night there was a noise coming from I don’t know where, but it kept awake all night. It was like a ticking ( clacking noise every 10 or so seconds)a

A superbe hotel to stay.

This is a beautifully designed hotel featuring very modernly furnished rooms with exceptionally comfortable beds. We particularly enjoyed the great balcony that overlooked the lake. The indoor pool was a lovely amenity, although a touch cool for spring swimming. The outdoor jacuzzi, however, was excellent. Breakfast was a definite highlight, offering a wide and impressive variety of both cold and hot dishes, including some interesting special menu items. We also had a great dinner experience at the Saltz restaurant. A special mention must go to the concierge, who was incredibly helpful in securing tickets for the chocolate museum tour for us, even after we found it fully booked online.

The only downside to this otherwise exceptional hotel is that it is on the pricier side.

The Dolder Grand isn't a 5 star hotel. In fact, I'm not sure it's a hotel at all. It's more of an experience.
It's clearly not 5 stars when you compare it to many other 5 star hotels. It's 6 or even 7.
Dolder Grand team goes above and beyond in making every guest feel special.
We enjoyed our stay at TDG immensely and are definitely coming back.

Pillows clearly can be more comfortable, we struggled with them.
Somehow when you ask room service for a bowl of grapes it can cost EUR50, hence if it's important to you make sure you know the price before making custom requests. The upside is that they will execute your request with perfection.

First class hotel with amazing facilities and a unique location offering stunning views over the city, the lake and the Swiss alps. Yummy and innovative breakfast buffet.

Service /view

It is beautiful and looks like an art gallery. The room and restaurant were nice.

It was noisy in the evening until midnight, probably because of a Friday evening parties in the restaurant downstairs

Positive: spa, very friendly staff, room set-up, restaurant. Our toddler loves it very much.

Could have room to improve:
(1) the kids' room is only a standard hotel room that was transformed, which means the space was really limited. Compared to other 5-star hotels, there could be a dedicated high-ceiling kids room with more functions.
(2) The hotel lobby bar was REALLY crowded in the afternoon and it was difficult to get a table even as a hotel guest (as it is not possible to reserved). Probably one of the restaurants can be opened as an addition for hotel guests?

The property was first rate. The location was magnificent with an unbelievable view, an extraordinary blending of traditional and modern, many choices of amenities- cafe, outdoor seating with heat and lap robes, ice skating rink, spa, lovely restaurants and cozy bar. Very family friendly! We had an amazing stay.

had to wait a little to get into the room on the first day. there were some strange art works lieing around in the lobby which were a bit bizarre

Everything about this hotel was exceptional. The facilities, the staff and the bar which is legendary I felt like I was in a James Bond movie.
