The Line Hotel, Washington

The room was really spacious compared to other hotels in DC or new, trendy hotels which often have tiny hotel rooms with minimal closet space. It also was light and airy in design. The bed was very comfortable. We liked the bar/lounge located in the attached renovated old church for afternoon cocktails or coffees. Fun place to stay.

Simple and uncomplicated. Laid back. No fuss. Wholesome food. Relaxed atmosphere.

Music in the Bar was thumps rap music which was truly awful - hence I avoided it for the 3 nights I was there. No draft beer on tap either. Hopefully this is easy to solve, as it really was ghastly at night, all because of the invasive trendy childish teenager music. The reception area could have been more Cheerful and better lit up - as it made for a dreary 1st impression upon arriving - but the room was bright & fabulous, so it more than made up for the bar music & dreary reception area

Spacious room with comfortable bed and nice and quiet. Great Bar for a drop in beverage and snack, with many eclectic food options nearby. Beautiful decor and lovely staff. Worth noting that Adams Morgan isn't near a metro subway station, but we found plenty of metro bus routes that passed through the area. Loved our stay at The Line DC and hope to return again.

Bathroom could do with a bit of an update, mainly the vanity basin and showerhead were both a little worn out.

The bar and restaurant on site have high pricing on food and drinks. The food is good but choices are limited.

The hotel room was bright and airy and tastefully decorated. The room and bathroom was clean and in a great condition.

The reception area was very dark and did not at all resemble the look of the rooms. there was also a funny smell in the reception area. We stayed two nights and after the first room service, the bedding on one of the beds had a big hole in it. I booked a queen double room with a monument view. Not knowing DC that well, the monument is so far away you might almost need binoculars to see it.

Beds and comforter were very comfortable! The rooms were very soundproof—I’m sensitive to noise and in hotels normally the walls are super thin, but the rooms at the Line were extremely quiet and I couldn’t hear any of my neighbors! My room was also very spacious even as I booked the cheapest available. Bartender was very kind and knowledgeable about cocktails—highly recommend trying the cocktails they are delicious!

Rooms and reception area were a little dirty—some small trash on the floor in reception, very dim lighting which I wasn’t a fan of. In the room there were the usuals scuff marks on walls and there were some stains on the bathroom floor. Lighting in the lobby area (where bar and cafe is) is also very dim which isn’t ideal if you are trying to work there during the day and would like some brighter light. I felt as though things were a bit overpriced, they charge an amenity fee which I wasn’t sure what was for exactly, 50$ for breakfast on their menu seems quite unreasonable and I paid 8$ for a coffee drink at their cafe which seemed quite excessive. A nice hotel but keep in mind of the prices.

Loved the room and location of the hotel in proximity to all kinds of great sightseeing.

The first day i was there the cleaning staff knocked once, didn't wait for more than a second and then let herself into my room 3 different times. She questioned if we had checked in/were checking out (after my early check--in which i paid extra for) which was somewhat concerning. She then came back and barged in and told us she was checking the mini bar. I just wish she would have taken a moment to listen for us to come to the door prior to barging in.

Location was ideal and the details/finishes were gorgeous.

We couldn't figure out how to operate the lights and the water pressure was insanely hard.

The location was paramount and communications with Issa was very positive and professional. The staffs at the coffee bar were excellent.

First impression of the check in lower level was depressing and dark (not inviting). We stayed two times in the last two weeks in different rooms. Both times we had to get up in the middle of the night to turn back on the air conditioning.

The check-in area in the afternoon was dark and depressing. receptionist seemed sleepy and unconcerned. Room had no bag stand and the bathroom Counter space was very inadequate. Had to use the mini bar counter.

Extremely unique and memorable property with a lot of great amenities. They’ve thought of so many details that elevated the experience and made my stay even more enjoyable.

My only complaint is that the hotel put two holds on my AmEx, so shortly after settling into my room I received an alert and had to spend time on the phone sorting that out when I wanted to just relax in my room.

I didn't like the crack head infested park directly across the street where my car was parked for free because your garage is 60$ a day

The breakfast was delicious and convenient. Valet parking was accommodating to my needs!

The entrance through the bar/restaurant is truly beautiful. We liked the spacious rooms very much and also appreciated the excellent shower!

On the Friday night of our stay, the neighborhood party noice was extremely loud and kept us up for a good part of the night. On all other nights, the nights were totally quite and very enjoyable

The sink did not have water pressure or consistent cold water. Three Miller high lifes, a medium range whisky, rum and tequila adding up to 97.00$ is quite an impressive markup.

The bar was beautiful and had great service. Drinks were wonderful. Love that there was food, bar and cafe right there.

The room was a bit beat up. Lots of dings in the wall and on the furniture. The sheets had a few built in stains that should not have been kept in the rotation.

Spacious room, lovely bath products. Too bad the bar upstairs was not available due to a private function. Nice drinks and food.

Service in the bar downstairs was rather grumpy.

Near to parks, restaurants, and bars

Room was comfortable but the hotel has dropped off the offering it once had. The restaurant is not open anymore, other than for private events, this was disappointing and not disclosed clearly on the site. The main entrance and massive ceilings were always incredible with the vibe of the restaurant, it now just feels empty and without any vibe.

AC unit did not work very well and opening the window brought a lot of noise into the room. Restaurant not being open anymore, which was a key vibe of the hotel.

Unique design in a former Christian Science church, with several nods to the building's original purpose in the framed hymnal sheet and pews. Comfortable. Great location

The room and furnishings were great. I could have hung out there all day. The facilities are a bit odd. The main room is like a daycare center for twenty-somethings and just kind of annoying. I wonder if the hotel would not do better to operate a bit more as a hotel and less as a hangout.

So many corners cut on making it a great experience for food or room services. What they offer is OK, but just pricey and minimalist. A thermos of coffee is literally a thermos, but not a like a working man would pack, but one the size you'd pack soup in a kid's lunch box.

It was a tad noisy from the hallways at night with the doors slamming. Surprisingly no street noise - was very quiet!

Gorgeous place, both my room and the surroundings. The bar was lovely and the gym was huge with a ton of equipment in good condition. The neighborhood is excellent for food and dining: there are a ton of good places just around the corner.

I would stay here again if I was visiting for pleasure but I wouldn't come back here for business. Basically, if you're trying to get downtown quickly this is not a great location. I just assumed it would be by a metro stop, but it isn't. I felt a bit irresponsible in choosing this place as it takes as long to walk downtown as it would be to take the metro (about 30 minutes) and I ended up being pretty late for some work meetings I needed to get to downtown. Learn from my experience: don't bother taking a DC bike share bike downtown as you won't be able to find an available dock! Also for a hotel that is clearly dedicated to young, hip people and being environmentally conscious, it was odd that their restaurant didn't have a single non-meat entrée. Fortunately there are tons of great restaurants nearby, but it seemed like an obvious miss in hospitality.

Promised more than were able to deliver on. Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect. Front desk not responsive. Shower flooded the floor. Just a lot of little issues that were less than wonderful.
