Hotel Eclat, Taipei

Very comfy and elegant rooms with premium equipment. The arrangement is great so there is lots of space. Even thought it's not directly at any MRT station the location is still very central and you can get to anywhere in Taipei quickly. And with the right room you even get a view on 101.

The location was great and the breakfast was good! The staff were super friendly and gave me lots of suggestions. If I go back to Taipei I will definitely stay in Eclat again.

I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, headed somewhere else, then returned for another 2 nights. I stayed in room 807 in the first leg and 607 in the second leg. 807 had instructions in Chinese but seemed like a newer room, e.g. the toilet seat was heated, the table lamp was functioning. Room 607 had instructions in English but was more run down. The toilet seat was not heated, it flushes on its own, the lights flickered and the table lamp was “limp” and I couldn’t adjust it to light my face properly. The Aircon’s temperature was impossible to be adjusted for both rooms and I would have liked to have a more heated room.

The staffs were super friendly and nice. Room was clean and spacious. Lots of art pieces made the stay pleasurable.

Not sure if it was because of low water pressure but I could not enjoy my shower. Did tell reception that it felt like that I was taking shower in Everest and the technician did come to try to solve it, but it remained unsolved. I should have asked them to switch another room so that’s on me.

My favorite hotel in Taipei. Stayed there probably at least 50 times over the last few years. Interesting design, good location, but something clearly was amiss this time.

The service was really disappointing this time. Checking in was chaos and took a long time, and they even forgot my car to the airport!

Location was convenient to get around Taipei.

Bed was old and already lost the support. During checkin, staff was a little rude. However was much better during checkout. There are no facilities in the hotel as it is a small hotel.

Nicely decorated, kind reception, good italian restaurant (Bellini Cafe) downstairs. Room was modern and fresh. Good wifi and excellent bed. Location for business is excellent; between Shangri La Far Eastern and the WTC/ 101. Price quality is great. Will come back as smallish feel, good atmosphere, personal care and generally nice.

- there is no gym or pool (and probably hard for the hotel to create one) - TV is somewhat difficult to sort out for a tech illiterate (but what are you doing in Taiwan then..) - Windows cant open (given noice and heat not a disaster but I like to smell some fresh air in the evening) - Breakfast included and not bad but somewhat basic probably to limit waste in times of low occupation levels (which in itself is great and more hotels should consider), although staff attendants give it great care.

We prefer non-generic boutique hotels with responsive personal service, large and comfortable rooms with topnotch amenities, charm and atmosphere. Hotel Eclat exceeded our expectations on every one of these counts. We loved the quirky decor; the large high-ceilinged room with high-tech controls; the exceptionally comfortable bed, pillows and linens; the happy hour discount on drinks in the marvelous bar; and, at least as importantly, the service. We needed an English-speaking private driver to tour four of us from Taipei to Shifen, Pingxi and Joufen and then return us to our cruise ship in Keelung. Between our checkin and bedtime, the front desk had arranged it all. We could not have been happier.

I loved the design of the hotel. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. The location is very good.

The rooms are not that well isolated. You could literally hear the neighbors talk.

arrived back at hotel at 8:32 but were told we could not have a drink in bar because it closed at 8:30. I understand the need for consistency but staff were still behind bar it would not have hurt to be flexible or 2 mins — given the status of the hotel.

A bit odd decor, not what I was expecting. Would have thought it was a more luxury experience based on the price. Far from the heart of Taipei/good walking area. Does the job but didn't blow me away.

I like the size of the hotel, a boutique hotel with nicely decorated lobby, just short walk to the front desk and the elevators. Rooms are decorated with interesting, modern furniture. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful.

The wifi was weak and lost wifi a few times, albeit for a very brief period Room cleaning could be improved.

Excellent front desk staff. Had some misunderstandings with the reservation and the hotel worked with Booking and me to clear it up in my favor. Room decoration was nice. I asked for a quiet room and was provided one.

No gym. Found a gym within walking distance though. A bit of walk to major shopping areas e.g., Taipei 101 area (about 20-30 minutes) so have to taxi or public transportation if not in the mood to walk or pressed for time.

Room was spacious and quiet, the bed was very comfortable, the hotel is located centrally and near 2 metro stations. Breakfast was good too. The room I stayed in had nice views too.

Minor gripe this, but there probably should hv been a proper enclosure or door separating the shower from the bathroom, so that one won't wet the bathroom floor when/after one's shower.

The hotel is a bit crazy, a design/art/boutique hotel trying to attract your attention. Strange plastic sculptures, crazy room equipment combining high-tech and nonsense like glass-walled wardrobe. I have visited the hotel just before Christmas, so there was a lot of gaudy Christmas decorations and the poor employees were dressed as Santa's elves. But apart of that craziness it is in fact a pretty good hotel, cozy, well equipped, in excellent location, and with a very good and rich breakfast. Also Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. If you want to try for a change something else than the usual standard-style hotel without a personality, I can only recommend this one.

The only little detail was that not all employees speak reasonable English, the communication with some of them was a bit shaky.

10-minute walk from the metro station is ok for adults, but just slightly far for kids.

a lot of the little things that used to make the hotel special is gone - even the smell of the hotel has changed. The hotel is also starting to show wear and tear. It is still a lovely hotel but some of the magic is lost. probably sue to covid cost cutting.

Great location! Our room had a nice view and the hotel is very centrally located, walking distance to Taipei 101 (around 15min). Very close to a subway station that allows you to move easily across the city.

We would have like slightly more spacious room.
