The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. We especially liked the welcome tea and history of the building. The location is great for walking to see most things in Singapore.

We liked everything! However, I would have liked to have a full length mirror in the room. Only small bathroom mirror was not enough for me :) We also did experience some noise until 2am on the road outside , people drinking and being loud. I would maybe book an internal room next time!

Staff is great. The rooms are nice! The hotel is unique. Great location. They need to replace the carpeting in the corridors though….they were really dirty looking and left a bad first impression.

Very charming hotel which is conveniently located for main attractions of Singapore and is one minute away from the metro station. Great breakfast choices and generous mini-bar were available. You enter through an old temple converted into a museum. The room I stayed was spotless and I particularly enjoyed the rain shower.

Friday and Saturday nights could be noisy as it's next to a busy pub street, but it's nothing the hotel can do about so bring your ear plugs if you need.

A great property at a great location for a decent price. The staff was super nice and helpful, they somehow felt very genuine compared to other places I stayed at. Recommend this place for more of a budget stay, or their sister hotel The Clan on the other side of the street for a more lux stay. Chinatown is amazing with food and culture mix. Loved staying here.

Cute historical nice furniture great reception and service

Room was very well equipped, the staff were extremely friendly.

My room was far from the street so it was quiet, but not sure if other rooms are. Soundproof was pretty good too.

Beautiful old building, very helpful and friendly reception staff, comfortable bed, great location near Chinatown. Good breakfast available at cafés next door. Complimentary drinks and snacks in the room.

The air conditioner was loud. The room could have been a bit cleaner. Quite expensive for a small single room.

We really enjoyed the vibe of the Hotel, quite funky and nestled in an old Chinese temple! The view to of our window was like going back in time as we looked down on a foot traffic street with shops and restaurants. Easy walking distance from pretty much everything you would want to see and experience.

When arriving at 0600 it was a bit of task locating reception as it was located through a Temple entry where the Cab dropped us.

The staff were wonderful - welcoming on check in and helpful when dealing with any questions. The hotel is well placed - it is really near to a MRT stop that can get you to the main tourist areas easily. It is also close to a large hawker centre for food and about a 5-10 minute walk to the historic chinatown area. Room was comfortable and most importantly the air conditioning worked well.

It is essentially on the edge of a business district so the very local area is a bit bland. However it is not hard to get to the other areas of Singapore on the MRT.

Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is marvelous. It's next to an MRT station, to Chinatown, and to some really nice outdoor restaurants and bars.

I had bad luck with a very small, noisy single room next to Cross Street, therefore I cannot rate better, sorry. I am sure the hotel has much better rooms.

Location was excellent, opposite the MRT. Sympathetic incorporation of an historic building and facade. Superb breakfasts at Genius. Warm friendly and cheerful staff.
