Hotel Amoy by Far East, Singapore

Property very convenient, basically had adjacent entry to underground for easy access. Centrally located to local eateries. Concierge staff, especially Sheirly was fantastic. Sheirly knew we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and she went out of her way with a sign and flowers along with a small cake to welcome us.

My room was very small - but again, for one night it was OK

Top location, with plenty of restaurants to dine in right at the hotel's doorstep. Very professional staff - ready to help resolve any issue.

Rooms are quite small, making it difficult to move around when travelling with two big suitcases. However, spaces are well optimised, so this is not too much of a problem.

Set inside an old temple, my single room was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and accommodated my requests. The cost of my room was very reasonable for the quality I experienced. Would stay again.

Not all the TV channels had good reception

Room is very clean. Front desk team was very friendly and helpful. Tea served during check in was really good. Check out process was fast and smooth.

Some rooms are very small despite claiming they are all 22sqm. Layout / setup of the rooms could be modified to be more functional for longer stays.

This is a lovely unique hotel in a great location. The professionalism and welcome of the staff at reception was excellent. The facilities are modern and high spec. My room was quiet, well air conditioned, and nice shower-bathroom facilities.

The bed was a little small but this did not affect the enjoyment of my stay.

Everything was clean. Thomas at front desk was bery kind.

We ordered 2 rooms, one was having 3 steps and it waa not comfortable .

I liked the location. I arrived at midnight, and all the restaurants were closed, but the nearby hawker centre was open. It's a great location for that reason. Also, it's fairly close to China Town and the metro.

The room is small in size, and a wash basin is in the room. Honestly, I do not mind it at all, but it might be important for others who mind such an arrangement.

The hotel is nice and has a lot of character. We received an upfront notice that there would be some maintenance in the hall next to the hotel after 10:30pm. We just came out of very tiring long travel journey so we asked if they would find a quiet room for us. Unfortunately there was no other room available so we thought that this would mean we would have to stand the noise…. Well, that was not counting on Far East hospitality. Our sweet hotel assistant simply booked a room at the hotel next door for us - at no additional charge(!) This is probably the first time in my many years of travel that I treated as well. The hotel staff is so helpful and will do everything to please their customers. Far East Hospitality, you have my full sympathy!

Stay here if you want to experience staying in a historic converted old shophouse in the center of many attractions. It’s walking distance to Chinatown, Marina Bay, Clark Quay, Pekin Street, Lau Pa Sat. Many dining and food options steps away. A smaller boutique hotel on a more personal level.

Our room was quite small, with little closet space, and a very tight bathroom. Location near many bars with the possibility of street noise, but this was muted, and not a problem for us. The hotel did not have a restaurant, but used a little outside restaurant a short distance away for its included breakfast. Options for breakfast were limited.

Super cool location and spotless room, friendly staff. Cannot recommend more.

A fabulous little hotel in an excellent location in the business district of Singapore. MRT station across the street and close to Gardens by the Bay. Plenty of eating options close by. The reception staff were excellent and extremely helpful. Will stay again.

Wonderful location. Convenient public transportation, restaurants and nightlife, convenience stores. Marina Bay and other tourist sites in walking distance. Single room had excellent bed and shower and was spacious. Excellent air conditioning.

Door didn’t always close and latch by itself. One day housekeeper made up room and left door open.

Helpful staff, convenient location next to shops, restaurants and public transportation. Comfortable and efficient room. Complimentary mini bar,Nespresso coffee machine.

The included breakfast was average. Set options, not much variety. Water down juices, bad coffee.

Perfect location, 2 mins walk from MTR station and surrounded by amazing cafes. It was a unique blend of hotel in the middle of street cafes. Best thing was that it seemed to be noisy outside but surprisingly the rooms were very quiet and comfortable. Also the cafe where the breakfast was, it was awesome as well. The friendly staff there also made the overall experience extraordinary.

An awesome hotel which is very well kept. The room is small but it is organized very well to take advantage of every inch. The bed is comfortable, the shower is great, and the air conditioning works really well (very important feature in Singapore). The complimentary cans of soda in the fridge, the bags of chips, and the coffee machine capsules were restocked EVERY DAY.

Location and ambience

A fantastic location bordering historic Chinatown and easy walking distance to the waterfront attractions. The rooms are well appointed with thoughtful extras like complimentary cools drinks, snacks and lovely tea. Breakfast was fantastic. But what made our stay truly memorable was the staff, we've never been welcomed with such warmth and kindness.

The hotel is incredibly clean and well attended. The rooms are nice and full of amenities. The location is great (right next to an MRT entrance). The breakfast is varied (choose from one of two very nearby restaraunts). The staff are simply wonderful - taking care of every need before you even ask them to, and making sure the stay is pleasant.

The location was great. We were greeted upon arrival with a cold brew tea, and the staff were very helpful and kind.

The front desk staff was very helpful. The hotel has a lot of character.

Our room was too small and I didn't like the steps in the room.

I really liked the hotel, the room was clean and the food was great! The only problem for me was a lot of noise from the outside, I stayed two nights over the weekend and couldn’t sleep because of it, maybe during the week it’s not that bad. The location is unbeatable to explore the city - walkable area and MRT station just outside of the hotel.

The hotel is in an excellent location on the edge of Chinatown, across the street from a metro stop. Easy to get places by foot or public transport. The building was interesting, quirky, and retained old-town charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful (thank you for suggesting the shower service!). Breakfast was lovely as well.

Minor nits: I couldn't get the AC to a setting I liked, and the bed was a bit too soft for my taste.
