Hotel The Shilla, Seoul

I like how the hotel setup such as shopping mall within property, and the free shuttle from the bus stop or train station. The hotel room is pretty spacious and pretty quiet too. The room in dining is really good. The lunch buffet was great too, and afternoon tea was splendid. FYI all the staff including housekeeping speaks English.

I think this hotel is not for everyone. Especially on the budget wise. Knowing Seoul cost of living is quite expensive, but if budget is no question for you, Shilla Hotel is for you.

It was really nice and they were very welcoming . The staff were incredibly and catered to all our needs which made our experience amazing.

Excellent customer service and first class amenities

Bar entertainment music. It's a bit boring for me . Songs selection are not enjoyable for young adults and pop music lovers. But the band are okay , for jazz music . Singer could be more lively .

The breakfast that we had as Room service could have been better. Very small portions and coffee wasn’t very hot.

It is a great hotel with 5 start facilities. Just look at the list to choose from. There is also 3 buses to help you get around Seoul

The gorgeous grounds, the location, the service

Room was only prepared for one person, although I was paying double occupancy. Housekeeping was very patchy - they forgot to put down the blinds one night, I found hair on the floor when I checked in, there was a persistent smell in the toilet. Another down side was that there was only one phone in the room by the bed. Usually there is always a phone on the desk. I couldn’t find basic things like a pen to use in the room either. Room service menu was a bit dull and I wasn’t properly introduced to what the hotel had on offer - spa, shopping, grounds, restaurants etc

Great service

The staffs were super kind and the service was exceeding my expectation. The breakfast was amazing, I enjoyed the various range of food there. Swimming pool facility was great, beautiful view at the room as well.

Immaculate service

No lift from car park to hotel. Had to walk up stairs.

The staff were super friendly, accommodating and warm. Anything you needed they did it efficiently and with professionalism. Food was absolutely delicious, especially room service meals. Room was extremely clean and fresh every day, also very big, felt very lush and spacious. We also used the laundry service that was perfectly done and super speedy.

It was disappointing that on the weekend, despite pre-paying, we had to wait for up to half an hour for a table at the buffet breakfast.

Professional staff, exceptional food at the Parkview breakfast and dinner buffet, exceptional coffee at the Library, stunning view, comfortable bedding, best smart toilet, concierge is next level - helpful with even complex requests.

The Shilla is one of the best hotels in Korea, we stayed here three times. However, this time was slightly disappointing because of the initial state of our room. The room was next to the lift, which cause occasional noise. It felt like the room stated empty for too long because it took a long time for aircon to get going and bathroom tropical shower was blocked and there were holes in our bedding. Staff were helpful and fixed everything within 24h.

Kind and professional staff, clean rooms, excellent food, attention to details, wonderful music playing everywhere, best smart toilet we experienced in hotels across the Korea, comfortable bed, gym has all facilities even gym clothes is provided, stunning view on Namsan Seoul Tower and park. We also used Urban Garden for additional charge, it is great and staff is very helpful.

Overall too much business-like all around the hotel when travelling privately - conventions / trade shows, constant business talk around is unavoidable. Would therefore personally not go again (unless on business travels)…. Surprising that a lot of reception staff doesn’t speak proper English - not great if solving some problems and you are misunderstood (esp over the phone)

Excellent in every way

The Shilla was excellent. Service was outstanding - every staff member I met was warm and friendly and remembered my name which made my stay feel extra special. I loved the wellness centre - a variety of facilities and I could spend a lot of time there. I used the pool, jacuzzis, sauna and gym. Impressive facilities and very spacious even compared to many 5 star hotels I visited.

The food, location and amenities was fantastic. We would stay with Shilla again.

Airconditioning in high humidity wasn’t working very well especially at night.

Honestly nothing .. but I wish they had more western food on the “ all day menu “ like pizza or yogurt or those small little things extra to what they have .. but still they have a great menu 👍🏼

The hotel is very clean, located in the central so it was easy to get around. All staff were very friendly. I'll definitely book again next time I'm in Seoul

it was gorgeous with the Korean traditional architecture and a modern twist. The staff were really nice and professional yet personable. Highly recommend.

the breakfast buffet- not enough traditional Korean dishes. I wouldn’t eat there unless they offer plenty of options including the Korean cuisine
