The whole place was absolutely amazing!!

Checking in to the lobby was super confusing, the parking area is so far away so we were super confused on the luggage drop and actual location of the lobby.

Nothing. There was one incident where one of the ladies at the Chinese restaurant refused to let me in but someone called her and she relented. I did not understand why I had to wait a full hour when there were empty tables but they addressed it.

If you are looking for a very comfortable place in Seoul, this is the right place. I have been in Seoul twice, and I prefer this place, especially the Mountain View and the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious

It was in beautiful surroundings, with helpful staff. Close to the metro with very short commute to all places in Seoul

The hotel is great, a little formal, yet equipped with all the things I like. Fitness centre, good bar, good restaurant, breakfast is varied and the location is very good for exploring the city from there.

I was surprised that I wanted to go to breakfast as a hotel guest, only to be told by the person at the table that I would have to wait. Which I don't actually find unpleasant, but I can see lots of empty tables right in front of me. That is not understandable for me. It was only when another manager saw that I had been turned away that he apologised and assigned me a table directly, explaining that there are a lot of reservations on Sundays and they are reluctant to allocate tables. So this time 9 out of 10.

You need to check carefully what is included if you book the hotel for three people.

Spacious room, comfortable bed, well-equipped gym, nice amenities, internal shuttle bus operates to get you to the subway station, the staff speak English.

The shuttle bus only operates until 10pm, so after this time, you need to walk up the hill to get to the hotel. Also, the airport shuttle does not come up to the hotel, so you will need to make your way down to the airport bustop and wait there.

Location is amazing and a selling factor to us. We thought the building was underwhelming from an architectural stand point, the inside is what matters though. We thought it was beautiful, one of a kind with superb service

It was busy - we personally prefer quiet. There was a conference taking place during our stay. The soundproofing of the room was also lacking. We could hear some conversations next door, kids in the hallway and music coming from the outdoor pool on Saturday as well as the sound of traffic. Also, rooms are quite small for American standards, given we had an upgrade. If I may, I’d like to compare the room condition/availability of things between SHILLA Seoul and our experience in Shangri-La. I had to ‘ask’ for things at SHILLA and those things were already anticipated in Shangri-La ( again, sorry for comparing) We would pay extra for details and above and beyond. I just did not think those things were consistent at the SHILLA. T overall though, we did enjoy our stay and we will come back

Location, facilities, tranquility, staff, breakfast, views... A real oasis in the center of Seoul.

The Deluxe Twin Room we booked was a bit on the smaller size.

The hotel is a bit remote. Although they do a real effort by having free shuttle service, you can't really 'pop out' of the hotel to eat something.

The hotel was splendid, the room very comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly and responsive. We had several meals at the hotel and they were exceptional. There was easy access to the city and other locations provided by the hotel shuttle service.

Staff Members The best Staff: assistance inside women’s SPA area. (Not the spa front desk) Front desk and concierge for foreigners/ non national tourist - lacked understanding of international hospitality. Such a hotel would need a better training program for front desk.

Really nice city view. The staff asked me beforehand if I wanted city or mountain view. So everything was on offer. The room was spacious and mostly quiet. Good choice for my start in Korea.

Maybe a bit too posh and I don't like overpriced mini bars. ;) Actually, nothing to complain.

Phenomenal luxury hotel. Staff were available and very helpful. Room was gorgeous, bed very comfortable. Sauna and gym were clean and impeccable. Breakfast buffet was great.

I don’t know much about the Shilla’s history but stepping into the hotel felt like I was stepping into an institution. It is outdated though, but it comes across as cozy rather than grimy because of the upkeep. It’s outstandingly clean. The service at reception isn’t the greatest compared to other high-end hotels in Seoul. We weren’t told about details such as needing to book breakfast beforehand if we wanted to pay the guest price, or that there’s a car service between the parking and the hotel. They did end up giving us the guest price for breakfast though to amend for their mistake, but parking is a hassle if you have a car. You have to park and either wait for a car to take you up the hill to the hotel, or make your way up a very long staircase.

Great service and very quite room

I've stayed at 5-star hotels around the world, but in terms of service, this one was the best. Meticulous attention, kindness, and professional service. If I come to Korea again, I will definitely stay here.

Spectacular view on N Seoul Tower and mountain, room is well sized with wardrobe and very comfortable desk, bedding is extremely comfortable and the mattress and pillows are incredibly soft, all toiletries are from Molton Brown, gym has all the equipment and helpful staff, swimming pool is excellent, the room is properly cleaned twice a day. Staff is extremely professional and friendly, willing to go extra to help us with any questions. Concierge service is one of the best I have experienced globally. We had breakfast and dinner at The Parkview- it serves the most delicious and sophisticated food. The Library bar has a fantastic view, serves delicious coffee and live music and signing takes place in the evening. Dongguk University Station is 5 mins walk and Namsan hiking route is 15 mins walk away. Hotel has a selection of amazing luxury shops on the basement floor, including contemporary fashion designers. The Shilla has a wonderful Korean art displayed including Park Seo-Bo and Lee Bae.

We would love more storage space/shelves for clothes.

The breakfast buffet is the best I’ve ever been to in terms of the breadth and quality of the offering. The hotel is centrally located but still very quiet and private. There are lots of shopping and eating options in the hotel or very near by, including duty free. The staff are cheerful and helpful.

The hotel shows its age in places. It’s well kept and there have been some renovations, but some of the design choices feel dated. Not a major issue at all though.

The most attractive part of the property is the location and accessibility. With stunning views of Namsan Tower and amazing hospitality, this place is a must stay for anyone visiting Seoul.

Everything was immaculate, well managed, cleaned each day of our stay. The staff members are highly trained, highly professional, exceptionally courteous and helpful. They provided amazing service. Very nice room with a great view!

Our room was right underneath the restaurant on the top floor and it was noisy whilst they were cleaning late at night which was after 10pm. For the money we paid for the room, we expected better acoustics in the room. Also, the food and coffee in the lounge cafe were vastly overpriced.

The mattress is dended and a bit too soft.

I like how the hotel setup such as shopping mall within property, and the free shuttle from the bus stop or train station. The hotel room is pretty spacious and pretty quiet too. The room in dining is really good. The lunch buffet was great too, and afternoon tea was splendid. FYI all the staff including housekeeping speaks English.

I think this hotel is not for everyone. Especially on the budget wise. Knowing Seoul cost of living is quite expensive, but if budget is no question for you, Shilla Hotel is for you.

It was really nice and they were very welcoming . The staff were incredibly and catered to all our needs which made our experience amazing.

Excellent customer service and first class amenities

Bar entertainment music. It's a bit boring for me . Songs selection are not enjoyable for young adults and pop music lovers. But the band are okay , for jazz music . Singer could be more lively .
