We stayed at this upscale country resort for a week - it is in beautiful gardens and surrounded by lovely countryside. Our suite was large with a good size bathroom but unforunately our view from the front terrace was obscured by a tall hedge (which had to be there for safety purposes but it was a shame we did not have a better view as my husband is a keen birder). The pool area was nice but it was quite windy and rainy when we were there so did not experience it to the max. The bar guy Aldo was incredible and I had a Pinacolada every day as I became addicted to them - made with fresh pineapple.

The eating options were terribly disappointing. The only restaurant on site is incredibly formal and ridiculously expensive! Our meal on the first night was over £200 for three courses each and a bottle of wine - which made it unsustainable to eat there every night. Plus the menu was very limited and a bit too 'fancy' (and we love gourmet food!). We just wanted some unpretentious Sardinian cooking. We also tried the lunch menu - one of us ordered the spaghetti in tomato sauce and it was the smallest portion I had ever seen and cost about £18. If you just want a snack, you can't get one at all (although Aldo did make us a toasted sandwich in the bar the first day we arrived on special request). It would seem sensible to make the bar area (which is on the other side of the grounds so it takes ages to get a gin and tonic if you order one in the restaurant!) into a casual dining area to give people more options. We had no choice but to drive to the local town or countryside restaurants for dinner every night which meant my husband could not drink with his meal. In fact on several occasions, we ate cheese, ham and bread on our room terrace with a lovely bottle of red purchased at the local supermarket - not to save money but just because we didn't want formal dining. A real shame for our holiday. By the way - Sardinian wine is excellent.

I don’t know how this place isn’t a 5 star! Beautiful property, large rooms. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Everyday we came back from breakfast our rooms were cleaned. The whole property was spotless. Beautiful view and sunsets from The property. Great location, about 15-20 minutes drive to all the spots we wanted to see. The bartenders Aldo & simone were very personable, attentive and made our time extra special. Francesca and the rest of the team at the front desk took care of all of our reservations, and recommendations for beaches and dining. The was our second time in sardina, and we would absolutely stay again and stay at stazzo lu ciaccaru!

The setting and the villa were just perfection. The landscaping, outdoor pool and villa furnishings were fabulous. Daily breakfast was lovely - all homemade, I especially loved the homemade yogurt. Bar drinks were incredible. And the staff were all very warm and welcoming.

Unfortunately my daughter and I had some jewelry taken from our room and when we reported it to the property manager it was not handled well, she denied it. Felt violated and it tarnished our experience of our stay at this otherwise lovely property. I would not expect something like this to happen at this caliber of a property.

The grounds and staff were very nice.

The food was poor. The same menu every day and it wasn’t great. It’s like a place, that the Chef thinks they are better than they actually are. and they seem to be dictating the running of the Hotel. For a great hotel and premises with nice staff, you have no choice but to go out and look for somewhere else to eat.

Location was stunning. Hotel was stunning. The decor was beautiful. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Rooms very clean. View from our room was wonderful.

Food was a little disappointing e.g. not much cooked breakfast and same thing every day. Was a shame that the bar wasn’t open earlier because if you weren’t booked in for lunch, you weren’t able to purchase drinks until 3pm. Would have been nice to get coffees and soft drinks throughout the day, not just at meal times or after 3pm.

Wonderful traditional Italian property, with a dreamy pool and really nice staff. Breakfast was excepcional.

Our room was not soundproofed, therefore you could always be bothered by the guests sleeping next doors. When they did the cleaning service, our shower was not cleaned at all.

the paint in the bathroom was coming off. The handle to get into the suite was off and not straight, I would have expected it to be more perfect for this price.

Things that could be changed/improved - it was a bit dark at the breakfast buffee - use less noisy lawnmower, a bit disturbing when you want to relax and you hear the noise - may be consider changing to "adults only" concept. The fine dinning experice is ruined when you have babies around watching videos with sound.

Pool looks lovely, but freezing cold and not suitable for swimming in May. I dont know why Europe does not heat there pools with solar panels! No coffee in the bedrooms which is very surprising for Italy. We have stayed in many Italian hotels and they usually have coffee machines. We were offered coffee sachets...Nescafe! Had to pay daily for bottled water, again free every day in most hotels. The settee in the bedroom was extremely uncomfortable and was a bed settee, which as a couple we obviously didn't use. The furnishings were basic although the bed was very comfortable.

The breakfast was excellent in terms of choice, the excellence of the staff and its setting.

The menu for the evening supper was rarefied in its offering.

The swimming pool is nice and there were more than one, so it was quite empty.

No EV charging. There were a couple of things malfunctioning in the room, such as the AC, telephone…

Beautiful property with amazing views in every direction. Very comfortable beds, rooms were elegantly decorated. Food at the restaurant was excellent it was a perfect stay!

The staff were absolutely incredible. We had a toddler with us and they were so accommodating. Whether that be sorting out an early dinner, clearing the mini bar so we could have baby food in our room, putting a fan in our room, even allowing us a spare room on the day of checkout so our child could sleep. The beauty of the place and room were exceptional. We will miss Aldo who makes the best cocktails on the island!

It was a beautiful location, with stunning views and two fantastic pools to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good choice of food at breakfast and the quality of the evening meals was amazing, although may be too refined for some people's taste.

Nothing, it was superb and we will return!

The hotel is beautiful and well kept. Location perfect. But the best thing about the hotel is the wonderful employees. Especially Aldo at the bar!!!! and Claudia in the restaurant!

Aldo the cocktail barman made exquisite cocktails and mocktails (which our daughter enjoyed). The Caipirinha was my favourite. The food for lunch and dinner was good. The carbonara was our lunch favourite and the grouper fish for dinner with gazpacho was lovely. Everyone should visit San Pantaleo in the evening. Hotel were excellent at accommodating a yacht trip around the Maddalena islands which was a highlight of our stay in the north.

Some of the staff in the restaurant were a little cold. The hotel could have some more swimming pool activities… bat and ball, floats etc. In my opinion you shouldn’t need to pay extra for freshly squeezed orange juice or pancakes for breakfast. We did have better breakfasts elsewhere in Sardinia.

It is a beautiful spot. Lovely pool and great views. Clean. Comfortable beds good for families.

Far far too expensive for what it is. The shower was impossible to figure out and nobody came to help. No bathtub. The dinner was pretty much inedible. Fish so dry it was like canned tuna. Very confusing entrance and getting to the reception. Was confusing. Hard to find our parking lot as we stayed about 1/4k from the main building up a hill. Not good for old people and certainly not for anyone who can’t walk well . Not a good place for couples or quiet. Lots of families.

Location was good and we also liked the view from our cottage on the mountain in the distance but otherwise there was lots of negatives...

Stazzo Lu Ciaccaru was supposed to be the highlight of our stay in Sardinia. Sadly, there was several issues that made it not so. First, we were 4 people staying in a "superior" cottage but there was only 1 shower, which to make it worse had low pressure (and so the water flow was akin to drip rather than flow). As a result we had to queue in the mornings and evenings like I had done in my younger year at a camp ground... The whole property is built and furnished rather cheaply giving us a consistent feeling we were staying at a low-budget property rather than an ostensibly premium one for which we paid nearly €2000 for 3 nights (with 1 dinner). There were broken fixtures - an external light cable sticking from the wall with no light attached, TV bracket with no TV attached, external flooring tiles not finished... There was constant noise of grass being cut - during the morning, lunch time, evening... every day of our stay. There was no grass to be cut but that didn't prevent this annoyance from going on and on. I mentioned this to the reception staff who was trying to tell me that it it how they take care of the property, "to make it nice". A pile of rusty discarded fencing near our cottage was apparently not a point of concern thou. Cleanliness: The property has a fake wood flooring which was not cleaned at all prior to our arrival and possibly for some time. The floor was sticky to walk on and our feet were black from the dirt on the floor. Dinner: Nothing special but priced richly... We tried it once only upon our arrival. Breakfast: Again nothing special (compared to our experiences at other locations we stayed during our trip). Value for money: Low; would not return. Overall rating: 3 out of 10

Stunning and amazing place - calm and relaxed luxury - super service and friendly personnel. The breakfast is really good - so is the house we lived in, the bar and the whole setting. Would go there again for sure.

A little paradise close to the sea, the airport and so many attractions. gorgeous swimming pool with a shallow area perfect for the little ones. incredibly friendly and patient staff.
