Hotel Vitale, San Francisco

Beautiful downstairs area/ Lobby. The Gym is great. The Ferry Building next door hosts a great farmer's market on the weekends. Easy to get to where we needed to go in the city.

The rooms are very basic hotel rooms... minimal natural light, either too cold or too with the HVAC unit constantly blowing. Nowhere to sit to enjoy coffee. One chair in the room even though there are 3 guests. Spa is small and can't accommodate more than a couple guests for the entire hotel at a time. It has no feeling of luxury past the front desk. Everything is met with a paywall. No complimentary snacks or drinks, just water and a coffee machine. Bottles of alcohol on the limited desk space and none of us drink. Felt tacky. I wish they had asked if we prefer to be offered alcohol and soda when we booked the room. To me it's a bit gross. Give us a healthy option to go with the "inspired by nature" vibe of the Lobby. We mostly stayed away from the hotel, but I was hoping for the price point it would be more of a destination feeling. The best part was the gym and the restaurant downstairs. Staff is amazing and very kind. The Ferry Building next door had a lot going on and we really enjoyed going there for breakfast.

The location was excellent in that it was very convenient to everything and the view of the bay was very nice

Was not a fan of the barn doors for the bathroom, very much a lack of privacy as well as not being able to do your thing in private without everyone else hearing things, total letdown of any ambiance.

We’ve stayed at several 1Hotels including, NYC, LA, Miami and the experience was so much better in those properties from the room, the staff and amenities.

Great location. Comfortable beds and sheets.

Overpriced. Event held in restaurant/bar so a poorly together bar experience was set up in lobby. Terrace was still full of trash, bottles, glasses and even dog poop in the late morning. Will never stay at The 1 again. I paid for a premium experience and got a very poor experience. Seems like they rest all their laurels on their prime location and nothing else.

Aesthetic, staff, rooftop, and location.

Breakfast was less than mediocre and expensive. Not worth it.

Location, clean and new

The terrace suite on the 6th floor they gave me was so small in the interior space! When I complaint they were able to move me on my 3d day to another terrace suite on the 7th floor which was 3 times more the size in the interior! For the same rate… how is this possible? Also the gym is not good! And the SPA is a joke

New, clean property. All spic and span

Not suitable for families. The double queen room photos are a bit misleading as double room looks like two rooms because of a mirror! Also seems like the charging is not great. They have taken the room charges on the card ( though I had paid on booking.com). Double charges and still waiting for a reversal!!

1 Hotel San Francisco is safe and excellent in Embarcadero, near Pier 39 and Fisherman Wharf. Convenient for travelers and business trips! Also, close to the train station, MUNI & Bart if you need to commute without Uber & driving. Walkable to other famous destinations! Weather: a bit cold and windy area since it's next to the Pacific, so bring an extra jacket if you walk. - Ambiance: beautiful, tropical, with many plants and a dimmy hotel! - Rooms: depends on which one you book. Generally, they are well-decorated, but unfortunately, they're not that tech savvy even though they're in tech city! The hotel provides its brands with products in the rooms, such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bottled water, robes, slippers, etc. - Noise concerns: I'm a light sleeper, and my room is next to the AC and on the 5th floor. I heard no outside noises from the street or the following rooms. Maybe I got lucky, or nothing happened on Thursday night while I stayed. - Sizes: Hotel size is average, so the room is jammed up, but it may be more significant when you pay more. - Customer service: from the valet to check in, dine at the restaurant till check out. Everything was excellent. - Restaurant on the ground floor and is beautiful within & outside dine-in areas. The vibes are relaxing and bright during the day & dreamy at night! - Additional services: They offer drop-off service within 2 miles for guests who want to travel and first come, first serve. You can call in advance to request in advance with the front desk. I used this service, and the car is new and smells great!

One thing the hotel needs to improve is the request for the drop-off service. It would be better to request that guests be able to put the drop-off address so the driver knows and navigates better. I was asked almost eight times whether it was within 2 miles. It made me feel like 1. They don't trust me 2. Answer over & over again. I expect more from luxury hotels with better operations and high rates

shower head fell on one of our guests heads its heavy they offered complimentary drinks and I felt that too drinks was an insult . My daughter had a bump on her head.

Celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, didn’t receive anything special from the hotel, every other hotel gave us a little gift to celebrate, which we felt was a nice touch!

The overall aesthetic was serene, relaxed, modern- it looked amazing with the wood/plants. Gave me a sense of calm Terrene served fantastic food - we tried almost all of it for breakfast and dinner - fresh and lively tastes, plus healthy- also my daughter had some vegan choices! The staff was exceptional. Kaiya at front desk helped us get in for massages at same time, even though initially the spa couldn’t accommodate us. She was always lovely and exceptionally helpful, whatever we needed. Our room had a spectacular view of the bay!

I dont really have anything, except the high cost of course. The room was a little smaller than I’d like. But this was a splurge for myself and daughter, and it truly was worth it.

Everyone at 1 Hotel San Francisco was friendly, helpful, and kind - from the security doorman and reception to the wait staff and bar tenders. Food was well prepared and tasty. I ate a greek salad and skewers (steak and shrimp) prior to last nights party, and during the party the hors d'oeuvres I tried were caviar on goat cheese, and crab cakes. Also grabbed a falafel to take upstairs as I was leaving the party. I used the hotel app to order room service for breakfast, delivery was very quick, hot, and fresh, I ordered the basics- eggs, bacon, fruit, croissants, and fingerling potatoes, there was vegan chorizo oh and a sweet potato something too but I didn't taste it. Anyway, all in all I think you'd enjoy a stay here, with so much to do, see, and taste in the area (all within walking distance) plus the hotel has an e-car and e-bikes available as well.

The room was very nice just for the price I thought it would be a little higher than the second floor. Still had a view of most of the fireworks so that was good since that was why we booked with them. The hotel really is quite nice. Great location.

we had requested a cot (supposed to be free) which was never sent to room but we were charged for a bed ($50+). Room service forgot the fries for dinner but when they finally brought them, they charged $20 more for the fries and delivery which was already paid for. For breakfast, the bacon and potatoes were burned. They did comp the breakfast but we didn't order much to start with. They did say they would credit back for the bed/cot that we never received. We didn't figure out about the overcharge for the fries till after we left but don't know if we want to deal with trying to get the credit for that.

Location was great! Very central and easy access to transportation available.

Tub was stained. Our last night was a little noisy and people knocked on our door at 3 am going to a party next door.

The entire hotel experience was super! The staff was excellent - professional, efficient, and pleasant. The hotel has good food, though I wish they made fresh smoothies. The outdoor terrace closes around 10p, which was a little early but workable. We liked nearly everything and would stay there again.

The gym was just so-so. Could use more than one elliptical machine. It also felt a little dark and secluded, which wasn't great even though it was on the second floor.

Expensive

Bathroom was FILTHY. Tub was also clogged with brown stains all over it. Staff came to clean it, but we should not have seen a room in this condition. Another room was offered, but it was half the size and would not have sufficient space for our party of 4. Very modest credit was offered to offset the inconvenience, but it was not really enough to make up for the shock of how dirty the bathroom was.

For$700 a night a room, it could have been less spartan . in one room the shower didn’t work. a cafe where you line up to order and get your own water and wind u with a hefty tab for a light meal also was disappointing. They couldn’t print a final bill when I left. I still don’t know what the final charge is.
