Everything was great during our stay! Very clean and modern room! The staff were also very helpful and knowledgeable.

The location even though super central is a little bit sketchy (not the hotel’s fault). It’s right next to Tenderloin which is the worst neighborhood in San Francisco.

It was clean and modern despite being a historical building. The location is touristy, but close to many things worth exploring.

The staff seemed flustered and impatient for no apparent reason. That was a first for me.

The location was pretty good. The area was generally safe for walking around at night. The room was serviceable. There was a small fridge and a coffee pod machine and the coffee was actually really nice. Queen size bed with 4 pillows. Was reasonably comfortable but creaked and sagged a little bit. The bathroom was quite nice, and the towels were generously sized. It should be noted that for people who need quiet to sleep, the area is very busy and there is quite a lot of street noise. This could have been because of where my room was positioned overlooking the street with the cable car outside. There is a bar and restaurant/cafe downstairs.

One of the reasons I chose this hotel was for the parking- so it should be noted that there is only velvet parking (something that I did not realise) and this is at a rate of $65USD per night. We parked about a 5 min walk away for $40USD per day. Also, there is a security deposit of $75USD per night per room and this came as quite a shock since I had 3 rooms booked. I did not read this anywhere on the website before I booked so if it is there and I missed it, it should be more prominent as this was quite a lot of money to front up.

The air conditioning seemed to turn off at night. The shower and tile floor was really slippery. There was no bath mat.

I liked a robot delivered my food. It was close to many things; restaurants, shopping, bus stations, some sightseeing icons. I also liked most of the food. It was a decent amount for the price. Check-in was easy, and I was able to check-in early. The room was nice size. I was by myself so I didn't need a lot. The bathroom was great. The towels were very soft and nice, as were the bed and pillows. They provided shampoo, conditioner, soap, washcloths, and hand towels. I'd stay here again.

I felt the fries were overcooked and soggy (it could have been the day I ordered). I do wish breakfast opened a little earlier. I checked in online but when I arrived at the hotel I had check-in again with the desk instead of the computer. Not a huge thing, but the check-in with the email seemed pointless. The staff was mostly helpful. One member did seemed annoyed at answering my question about breakfast. Online it says $25 a day for breakfast but really you just order from a menu and can either have it in your room or dine downstairs.

THE PROCESS FOR RETRIEVING YOUR CAR WITH VALET WAS NOT WELL THOUGHT OUT. THE ONLINE APP PROCESS SOMETIMES DIDN'T WORK SO OUR CAR WAS NEVER RETRIEVED. NOT HAVING AN EMPLOYEE AT THE FRONT DESK AT ALL TIMES. WE LEFT TO CATCH OUR FLIGHT AT 2:30AM AND NO ONE WAS THERE TO LET US KNOW IF OUR CAR WAS EVER PROCESSED FOR RETRIEVAL. WE WERE WORRIED ABOUT MISSING OUR FLIGHT. AFTER 15 MIN SOMEONE FINALLY CAME UP TO HELP US.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and the bed comfortable. It is very well situated for the BART and metro being right next to Powel Station

The room lighting was a bit too subdued and with the dark floors made the room a little unwelcoming. The shower controls were not clearly marked and not totally intuitive.

Arrived a bit confused as to whether I had already paid or not. The man on reception spoke very rapidly about taxes and resort fees etc and suddenly my credit card was over its limit. I hadn’t paid but the extra daily amount (resort fee) suddenly put my quoted price from Booking.com and my AUS conversion way out. I am at the end of my trip so I was paying close attention to my expenses. I understand about the taxes and resorts fees but often a hotel will just take a CC imprint to secure any extras. In this case the hotel took the money. I wonder how long it will take for the money to be back in my account.

For those who love to stay in a place where everything is close to you, then this is the best place.

It is expensive compared to the size of the room.

The location was superb. The offer was of good value. Room had functional furniture. Issue on check in was resolve quickly

Nice hotel next to the Cable Carts and good location within the city. Friendly staff. Shower/bathroom was very nice.

Bed was soft. Light was on in the room even if we definitely turned it down after leaving, which made us get the idea someone entered even when we had the "do not disturb" sign on our door.

Perfect location for every mode of transport, great hotel, very clean & modern. The fridge in our room was a massive bonus.

The WiFi didn’t work after our first seven days & we kept asking for help but no one really bothered. In the end we worked it out ourselves.

The only criticism we had was the bathroom doors. Sliding doors that won’t stay closed aren’t suitable for bathrooms

The central location is excellent. The room is clean. The wifi and coffee maker work well. The front desk staff is helpful.

The biggest problem was the Business Center. I tried to print, and I tried to scan, and neither worked. When the staff came to help, they couldn't make it work either, but they did later print and scan for me using the hotel's computers. The other disappointment was that the bathroom had only a shower not a tub.

Every footstep can be heard from the floor above. Also noises from the outside interfered with a comfortable night's sleep.

The hotel was nice, the room had what we needed and was comfortable. The room service robot was so much fun! The room service was delicious, which was just what we needed after a long fight! The reception area was nice and there was lots of room to relax on the first floor! The location was great in terms of watching the historic cable cars and getting on them early and beating the queues.

The location was good in terms of union square and being perfect for getting on the cable cars, but the area in general has a lot of drug users and we didn’t want to go out late at night. But this would have been the case for any hotel in this area.

It was very clean and the smart TV is customizable. They have two elevators and a main staircase for floor access and each floor is equipped with a water dispenser and ice maker. The small boutique gym is located in the basement, equipped with plenty to be able to complete a great workout. There is also an ATM located on the basement floor which I thought was a great note that should be mentioned. The cafe in the lobby was also super convenient and pretty tasty, a bit limited but it will get the job done for a quick stay. However, if you do elect in-room dining, don't be surprised when the hotel robot is the one to deliver your order to you. You will receive a call first to your room to let you know once it's arrived outside your door. It's a pretty neat technology touch. Also, for my MUA lovers Sephora is literally right next door, on the cable car side of the hotel, as the main floor hallway extends through to both sides of the street. The WF mall is 5 minutes away walking distance. But I do caution the area (Tenderloin) due to the multitude of present homeless people unfortunately, similar to many areas in CA though.

I really don't have anything bad to say aside from minor particulars like the size of my double room. It did feel a bit stuffy at times in size, but from what I have been told, that's just most of SF for you. Really good hotel. Price/value was really good. Rooms are fine although the central AC is not working (hot or cold) so they use the mobile units which takes a lot of space and the rooms are not big. Finally out mobile AC wasn’t working properly. But it was fine. Really liked it and would recommend it definitely.

Very good historic downtown hotel. Recently redecorated. Room nice and clean, with everything needed. Good sized towel for shower. Reasonably quiet (it is downtown after all). 11ft ceilings make the rooms feel airy.

Decor could be less dark, but to each their own.
