1 Hotel, San Francisco

The locations was great. The environmental ethos of 1 hotels is great, and we appreciated that at the one in San Francisco.

The reception staff were incredibly unfriendly, as if we were bothering them to check-in and out. They shared no information about the hotel at check-in, and we only discovered there was a rooftop terrace at the end of our stay when we were walking around ourselves. When I kindly requested if my car could be ready at a specific time for departure, the lady told me to go outside and tell the valet guys. We had a double room, and it was tiny. I was traveling with my three kids, and we travel the world, so they are definitely experienced travelers. Without prompting them, they said ,”I thought this was supposed to be a nice hotel!” We also agreed that it was the worst food (breakfast) we ate in all of San Francisco. We ordered large matches and chais and they brought them to the table in paper cups because they said they don’t have large mugs. This is not the type of service you would expect from a nicer hotel. The location is great, but the service was bad and hotel is overpriced and has no amenities to justify staying there.

We had two rooms. One was on the third floor so the waterfront view was not brilliant. The view on the 7th floor was fab though!

The bed. The bed alone made this experience a 10 for me. I’ve slept in many hotels around the world but this bed is something I’ve never seen.

I liked the whole vibe of the hotel. I loved the sustainability theme. Overall, it was a large corporate hotel but with a boutique hotel feel to it which I really liked.

Every time I come to town on business thus far 1 has treated me tremendously well. The staff is extremely accommodating and thoughtful very refreshing as compared to a few other 1 properties I have stayed at.

Unique use of recycled materials in their environment

Some details such as stained coasters in our room, beat up bottles and opened snack on mini bar, stained couch in room with what looked like large about of dry hummus (is my hope) .. attention to detail for the price of this room would be nice

I stayed at 1 Hotel in San Francisco and absolutely loved it! The place is beautiful and has great vibes. My room was comfortable and spacious, with amazing views. Big shoutout to Christina for the surprise cake and note-such a nice touch! The food downstairs was delicious too. Overall, great vibe, awesome service, and yummy food. Highly recommend!

Loved everything about this hotel. I travel to SF a lot and 1 Hotel is by far my favorite. Front desk staff went above and beyond to check me in even though I was early. The location is perfect right by the bay. I had a room on the 6th floor facing the bay and it was spectacular to wake up to that view. If you’re on higher floors the noise is just like white noise. Amazing viby restaurant and bar downstairs too. I’ll definitely go back!

Lovely hotel. Great room size and bathroom. Booked it to be closer to the harbour to see the NYE fireworks. However the staff were the true highlight, just an amazing team from the concierge to the front desk. I know the some reviewers have said it was overpriced but I think the customer service definitely matched the price point.

The breakfast was amazing! I had an amazing time enjoying the spa bath and private massage.

The aesthetics are always so good with the 1 hotels. Room was superb, view was amazing. Breakfast was really really good.

The shower wasn’t the greatest, power was lacking quite a lot. I also just feel there’s not much going on in the hotel, which may be good for others. But it was very quiet.

Great location, the hotel and rooms are tastefully decorated and the food was delicious. Most importantly we had a great sleep, the beds were super comfy and room was very quiet.

Beautiful hotel. We had a waterfront king which had a lovely view. Spacious room with a very comfortable bed and very nice bathroom although no bathtub. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely outdoor patio. The location was perfect for us as we were there to attend an event at the Embarcardero building a short walk away.

My only complaint is that the bar closed at 10pm on Saturday night which seems silly for a hotel.

The hotel is absolutely unique and modern in the best way. Everything is up to date and they truly make you feel special without making you feel like you are in a setting where you don’t belong (if you get what I mean).

I think they should make better use of the wonderful terrace/rooftop space they have but maybe it is due to city regulations. (I would open up a bar there! It is amazing!)

Great staff, great location - the food was excellent and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Our room had a blackout blind but not a curtain so lots of street light and then early morning sun when your trying to sleep and the room was noisy from the road. Also the pillows were super big and hard -

The waterside location is perfect for a morning run, and the bar/restaurant is lovely, great cocktails. Big spacious rooms too. A restful place to ride out my jet lag!

Felt like a spa retreat. Arrived in the early morning to stow our luggage before check in and our room was ready so they let us go in then. I love that. Beautiful rooms wonderful restaurant. Will definitely come back.

1 Hotel San Francisco is safe and excellent in Embarcadero, near Pier 39 and Fisherman Wharf. Convenient for travelers and business trips! Also, close to the train station, MUNI & Bart if you need to commute without Uber & driving. Walkable to other famous destinations! Weather: a bit cold and windy area since it's next to the Pacific, so bring an extra jacket if you walk. - Ambiance: beautiful, tropical, with many plants and a dimmy hotel! - Rooms: depends on which one you book. Generally, they are well-decorated, but unfortunately, they're not that tech savvy even though they're in tech city! The hotel provides its brands with products in the rooms, such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bottled water, robes, slippers, etc. - Noise concerns: I'm a light sleeper, and my room is next to the AC and on the 5th floor. I heard no outside noises from the street or the following rooms. Maybe I got lucky, or nothing happened on Thursday night while I stayed. - Sizes: Hotel size is average, so the room is jammed up, but it may be more significant when you pay more. - Customer service: from the valet to check in, dine at the restaurant till check out. Everything was excellent. - Restaurant on the ground floor and is beautiful within & outside dine-in areas. The vibes are relaxing and bright during the day & dreamy at night! - Additional services: They offer drop-off service within 2 miles for guests who want to travel and first come, first serve. You can call in advance to request in advance with the front desk. I used this service, and the car is new and smells great!

One thing the hotel needs to improve is the request for the drop-off service. It would be better to request that guests be able to put the drop-off address so the driver knows and navigates better. I was asked almost eight times whether it was within 2 miles. It made me feel like 1. They don't trust me 2. Answer over & over again. I expect more from luxury hotels with better operations and high rates

shower head fell on one of our guests heads its heavy they offered complimentary drinks and I felt that too drinks was an insult . My daughter had a bump on her head.
