The Yeatman Hotel, Porto

Room exceptional, comfortable bed, lovely decor and very well presented. We had a garden view which also incorporated some of the river and bridge views. Breakfast was delicious, lots of options and freshly prepared. The staff were fantastic too.

Fabulous location. Best view of Porto - especially for the festival of St. Joao with the Chinese lanterns ascending into the night sky and fireworks over the river. Food and beverages were outstanding and the ambience of the hotel is just perfect.

The Yeatman has a fantastic location in Porto. The historic district of Gaia, technically, but overlooking many of the city’s monuments, including the Don Luis I bridge. We stayed in a room with a balcony which overlooked said view. Waking up seeing birds fly over the city was truly magical. The Yeatman’s 2 michelin star restaurant was incredible, and the breakfast was amazing.

The stay was incredible. However there can be some improvements made where staffing is concerned. 90% are attentive and show real initiative in providing us with what we wanted as guests. However some were not as forthcoming to help as others, got food orders wrong, and came across as rather inexperienced. Finally, while at the pool on Monday 3rd June, guests behind us were smoking marijuana which was not pleasant. We felt awkward saying anything at the time because it would have been obvious who made the complaint. However, I feel if staff were more attentive at the pool could have prevented it by being more present and realising such was happening. Those are minor issues and overall the staff were amazing.

Concierge was fantastic. Dicks Bar, and its staff were wonderful. Fantastic hotel all round.

Toileteries in the bathroom were not good: Out of reach when sitting in the bath and spout dispensing in the wrong direction.

The views are unbeatable. The Yeatman also featured the best breakfasts of any hotel we stayed at on our trip.

We were told we couldn’t sit in a certain area. They need to clean it.

What a hotel! A must stay when in Porto and we preferred staying on the Gaia side. Literally right next to port lodges and walkable to everything. It was like the Ritz Carlton with Marriot prices. We ate at the Yeatman restaurant which was the best meal of my life. Absolutely loved this place and will be returning.

Beautiful room with private balcony overlooking the Duoro River and the town of Porto. Great location with a back entrance that gives access to the town below. Wonderful dining facilities, so nice to have an after dinner drink in the evenings at Dick's Bar out on the Terrace and watch the sun going down over the town. Generally a beautiful Hotel. I will definitely want to come back.

This hotel is exceptional; the staff are professional and nice, and everything is clean and arranged properly. The rooms are huge and have amazing views. I was upgraded to a superior room, and the view from the terrace was breathtaking. I spent 70% of my time in Porto/Gaia just sitting on that amazing terrace. The room service was delicious and high quality, nothing cheap here. The Spa had great options. I loved the city, but the main reason I might come back is the hotel.

Mentioned in my booking that I was visiting in a special occasion. Was told a symbolic gift was ready upon our arrival - nothing was there. A bit disappointing! Needed to pay car park as a hotel guest!

One of the most beautiful wine properties we have ever experienced. The wine tasting and dinner was spectacular. Thanks to Elizabeta the hotel Sommelier. All of the staff was remarkably attentive.

Amazing breakfast. Staff were very helpful and apologetic if needed to be. Spa and pool large. The hotel gave an ambience of privacy even though quite a few rooms. The staff gave a personal efficient service....faultless. the rooms were well stocked and plenty of fresh towels. What a view, what a setting.

As our stay was so short we had no chance of experiencing all the facilities and hence we didn’t have any issues which bothered us.

The view from the lobby and from our room was exceptional. The breakfast is very good (great scrambled eggs, sunny side up eggs, great bread and pastries) . The room was spacious and bright. The front line staff was ALWAYS friendly (housekeeping, restaurant, bellman, concierge). Concierge was very helpful.

The room smelled cigarette smoke. Nothing was done after signaling it several times. Staff supervisors were not always responsive but front line staff was ALWAYS friendly (housekeeping, restaurant, bellman, concierge). Room service menu on QR code is not the most user friendly for such a hotel.

The customer service is fantastic, the amenities are brilliant and the view is so gorgeous. As it was a special occasion for us, they upgraded our room and left bubbles and flowers. A very special experience.

There's nothing we didn't like really. It's expensive to eat/drink at the hotel but you're paying for the service and location. Just something to bear in mind when budgeting.

Amazing facilities - beautiful outdoor pool, good indoor pool, extensive gym, lovely secret spa area and great choice of restaurants. Incredible views of Porto but still an easy walk into the city.

We had an outstanding stay. The staff was highly service minded at check-in and check-out (Fransesca), amazing view of Porto from our hotel/room and a free upgrade was a very pleasant surprise. The breakfast at the terrace was an excellent start of the day. Yeatman's proximity to the WoW (World of Wine) museum was brilliant and the museum was very interesting in a modern educational setting. We will come back and stay at the Yeatman again.

A fantastic hotel with fantastic staff - I cannot rate it too highly

We love the Yeatman! This is our third time and we plan to keep coming back. The hotel is beautiful, very grand and well maintained. There are stunning views over the river and the bridge. The indoor and outdoor pools are both immaculately clean and well maintained. The pool loungers are comfortable and generally in good supply. Clean towels are always available. The pool bar is great for food and drink, although rather expensive. You pay for the privilege of eating lunch by an infinity pool with stunning views! Staff are always helpful and mostly speak good English. The rooms are very large and clean, with very big comfortable beds. Good soundproofing from other rooms. Breakfast does not have a particularly large selection but everything is fresh and well prepared. There are lots of fruits, salads, breads, cereals, omelettes made to order and hot food eg sausages and bacon. There are also luxury items like caviar, fresh honeycomb and champagne. Rooms are equipped with kettles and fridges - request fresh milk if you like to drink tea. Overall we had a fantastic time and highly recommend this hotel, especially for couples or other adult travellers. Also good for solo travellers, very safe and welcoming. It probably isn’t ideal if you are travelling with small children as there isn’t much for kids to do and the facilities all have a pristine air to them that doesn’t feel very child friendly! Although there were some children there so it’s it as if they’re not welcome.

Having the luxury of a pool was a huge bonus. Our room was so comfortable, I slept so well during our 3 night stay. The michelin star restaurant had the best wine pairing we have ever had with a tasting menu. The welcome drink and the staff were so helpful and friendly.

There was a large group of British tourists (whom we originally thought were a wedding party but turned out they were just on a holiday) who took over the pool area for the entire weekend and were drunk & disorderly on both days we went to the pool to the point we had to have several conversations with staff as they completely ruined our experience by the pool which is why we booked this hotel. Staff dealt with it, but not efficiently enough. They continued to serve this group alcohol even though some of them struggled to stand.

We got married here and have had the most incredible time.

The breakfast wasn’t worth the money, not good quality of many options The rooms were beautiful and super comfy but it’s a huge hotel and we got lost on the way to our room it was so far away from reception! There was one small bottle of water in the room which I feel isn’t enough for a 5* hotel, we called 3+ times for more but non ever arrived Parking is on site and part of the hotel but we had to pay to park per night which I found a rip off given it’s on site and the price we paid for a room was already expensive Check in and check out was super slow and only 2 staff working at the busiest time meant we had to wait quite a while

Breakfast buffet was not the greatest compare to dining. Not all stuff is highly attentive to the needs of customers. This differentiates best vs very good.

So much to love! The resort was very quiet when we were there - very few people. We absolutely loved the room and the view and the staff was so lovely! Loved the location too - away from the busy parts but close enough to walk to it all.

Everything was as expected.

Concierge didn't seem completely objective with advise. Felt a but scripted for subscribing only merchandise preselected with partners.
