Expert reviews

Lonely Planet review:

“With architecture inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and past guests including Irving Berlin, Marilyn Monroe and every president from Hoover to Bush the younger, the Biltmore is perfect for connecting to the magic of yesterday.”

Forbes review:

“Opened in 1929, Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort exudes a singular, sublime combination of Frank Lloyd Wright-influenced architecture, art deco design and desert botanical chic, with a splash of old Hollywood glamour.”

Frommers review:

“For more than 80 years, this resort has been the favored Phoenix address of celebrities, politicians, and old money. There are two golf courses, a swanky spa, an extravagant pool.”

Featured as Frommer’s Exceptional Choice in Phoenix.

Won’t stay again because of the pool view.

Beautiful decor

The view from the pool was not enchanting at all. The kids slide belongs at a water park, not the Biltmore.

It was

I’ve always enjoyed staying at hysterical places and I didn’t enjoy my stay at the Biltmore as far as the properties gorgeous but as far as the staff at the valet, I was overlooked no one opened the door for me, but other guest doors were open for them, but not me so I felt like I was a little overlooked.

I was treated better by the staff that was cleaning my room then the staff that was at the front desk.

Passable

Did not stay, Delta really did a number on some of us who wanted to stay there.

The facility did not respond to my messages about flight cancelation and booking, I would rather say, typical, we already paid.

Stay was ok

Very friendly staff.

We were lied to that the hotel was booked and our families couldn't get room together. Also, the AC in our room rattled horribly when it kicked on and off, so did the refrigerator.

Enjoyed ourselves enough that my wife stated we would return.

The service and quality of the food was fantastic. A particular waitress and hostess who worked every morning during breakfast while we were there, made us feel at home. They provided great conversations and information about the surrounding area.

We attempted to get massages multiple times, however, never received a return phone call. So, we ended up going to another property and spent almost $3k on massages at a different resort. Hope to have a better experience next time.

Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff at MacArthur's restaurant.

I had sent several messages about scheduling a massage, starting 2 days before my stay. The responses were ambíguos. In the end, no one confirmed a massage for me. Strange

Excellent Staycation with incredible customer service.

The Biltmore Resort is an Arizona icon. It’s a textural delight and wonderful place to make a special memory. The grounds and interiors are beautiful. Great location. Great dining.

I think the signage around the property could be updated and clearer. It’s a large resort and an enhanced way making system would go a long way to clarify where to park, how to get to the Spa, etc.

Water slides are nice.

Not a good value. Food wasn't good, $100 dinner plate was unedible and made me sick all night. Drinks are expensive and aren't good either, but everything besides food and drinks was good.

Staying at the Biltmore was inspiring and relaxing!

I loved the attention to detail! The tables by the pool had little succulents. The furniture selections were perfect for the spaces. The color of the room were calm and soothing. I was inspired by all of it!

The shower needed to be scrubbed better. Our room was not cleaned twice.

Enjoyable but uncertain if we'd return for the reasons above.

Wonderful property with an excellent restaurant wait staff. The architecture and overall quality of the physical facility was outstanding. Lighting, both inside and out (night) was well conceived. Service staff did excellent job restoring the grounds after weddings, other guest group events. Front entrance staff were particularly helpful and friendly.

Food in general at the hotel was pricy - $19 for oatmeal? - McArthur's food was less good quality / preparation than the price charged. Housekeeping staffing needs far better support >> too few of them to cope with the volume of guests - rooms should not be UN-made at 4pm when guests are out all day. [pay staff more and have better results]. Daily $35 "Resort Charge" (and the associate tax) should be included in the base room rate and so footnoted in marketing, other materials. #1 complaint: why was there NO print material in the rooms (or anywhere else in the facility) about the hotel, its offerings, the local area (Phoenix Magazine, etc.), NO maps of the area / Phoenix. Having traveled at the 5* level for decades, this was a first - and quite irritating. Implied that the hotel's focus was on groups (whose time is generally managed by the host company) vs. FIT's who would appreciate some perspectives on the area etc. >> a missed opportunity.

Value for money is not correct

A very large resort with lots of great opportunities to play - golf - tennis - hiking - fitness... good food - nice restaurant service

…. the rooms are partly well renovated - my room should have been - I didn't think so... strange room layout... from the entrance door you were directly in the bathroom - room service ok - events every evening - you have to like and also know ...

No doubt the Arizona Biltmore is expensive but worth it for a visitor to Arizona or a local.

This property is a 39 acre resort. I live in Phoenix, but felt like I left town to visit a resort. The original resort was built in the 1920's in the art deco style. 2020-2021 it was closed for a year for restoration and upgrades. Much of the property is new with but keeping with the art deco style. The hotel has the main building along with separate hotel building. It has seven pools with cabanas with TV's. It has a three story water-slide for kids. It has two upscale restaurants and room service. The Spire outside bar has lots of screens for sports. Nice in the winter, not for Arizona Summers. The room was huge with a nice view of one of the pools. The room is all new after the renovation. The room was large with a 65" or 70" TV. The bed was large, cal-king or maybe bigger than that. Most women would love the bathroom. The huge mirror has adjustable lighting for makeup effects. The shower was huge along with a huge bathtub.

Valet parking @ $30 a night is a must since the parking structure is four blocks away from the hotel. Self parking is $24. Getting a tub is a $30 upgrade. The price per night is about $700. Upon check in, they asked for a credit card for incidentals but didn't know how much my room was other than to say it's base price is $599. Would have liked to know how much I was paying when checking in.

In overall the property is so out of date I cannot get why it has 5 stars. When you are in you just wanna leave it as so

do not know

We got room 2423 which was just in front of ventilation system that made a lot of noice. And the table was sticky dirty, the toilet paper holder was broken. The mattress was hard and not that flat. I just wanted to have rest as our flight was cancelled so I asked to change the room. The girl at the reception went to talk to manager and we were refused as if they didn’t have any free rooms of our category. I know exactly that they keep several rooms just in case of some incident. But we got just no.

The most AMAZING stay! ❤

Amenities and Family inclusion for a solo traveler. Also, Mary the Concierge was so AMAZING! She really went above and beyond.

On the 1st day I received bad customer service however, that did change on my second day. I must say I ABSOLUTELY loved Mary the Concierge she helped to make my stay so pleasurable as did Noelle. I also kept experiencing the weirdest mishaps during my stay however everyone was so quick to rectify the SITUATIONS to ensure that my stay was the most enjoyable as can be.

Kids loved the slides. Check in is disaster. Rooms are old. Won’t be back. Pool lounge chairs need

The only part of our stay that was amazing was Marissa at MacArthur’s. If the Biltmore could hire 500 more of her this place would rock! She is so friendly and attentive. She is a yes person

Room is old and a/c was not working properly and fan was broke, carpet should be replaced, light switches were dark and broken. Bathroom was clean and manageable. The room was clean, just old.
