The place is perfectly located, just a short walk to the metro, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. While it was much better than the reviews we saw on Booking.com, there’s still some room for improvement. It bathroom could have been cleaner, but overall, it’s okay—an 7/10 for us in terms of cleanliness.

We would have appreciated small touches like towels and a kettle, which would have made the stay even more comfortable.

It’s just a few steps from the metro station, and the breakfast is good and it’s inly 9 euros, Harriet and Pietro are really really nice people other than that place is not friendly at all

Bathrooms are filthy, wifi is no good at all, they charge even for a glass of water (guys you are not going broke if you give free water), bedsheets were not clean, toilet got clogged constantly, shower is so dirty and it doesn’t even have a bench or anything, not even hangers, your clothes go on the floor (I stayed in room 801), every little thing is charged and expensive, will never ever stay here again, if you can please save yourself money and trouble and stay somewhere else

I want to report about one bar staff as he mentioned to me he was a manager from India.The gentleman is tall around 40 years,not friendly and professional in his job and generally in customer service.

I liked the location, just steps from the metro station. I had no problems during my stay, nor with the other guests in the room; everyone was mindful and quiet. The staff was friendly.

The cleaning could be improved; the bathrooms, in general, don’t appear to be cleaned every day. The breakfast wasn’t great, and I would not recommend it. There is also a fee to store luggage after check-out.

Very professionally run and the rooms are clean. Located in a great neighborhood close to downtown and surrounded by wonderful coffee shops.

There are essentially no communal spaces to relax outside of their restaurant. Additionally this means that no outside food or drinks are allowed in which is unfortunate for most hostel-goers.

The reception staff are very helpful, advised me on the places to go and with insider tips. They also helped me trying to contact other places that speak French. The hostel is nearby a metro and bus stop. The bus can directly take you to East Station, city center, notre dam. You have to bring your own lock for the closet. The closet is good fit for a travel bag and other small items. Given the price and the easy access to the transport, it's a good choise.

Initially the room that i was allocated had heating issue. After the 2nd night they changed me to another room, which could have done earlier, without letting me suffer in the cold for 2 nights. The breakfast is limited to few items. The only breads are really difficult to break and swallow. They only have a small selection of flakes, muscles, a cheese cut and slices of ham. Only one juice and either tea or black coffee. Further in the hostel restaurants the food and drink prices are too high compared to nesrby restaurants. During my stay, the sheets and bed covers were not changed. The common showers have a strong smell. You have to bring your own lock for the closet. The closet is good fir a travel badlg and other small items. Given the price and the easy access to the transport, it's a good choise. Except the breakfast and cleanliness.

Bed is not comfortable i request 1 king bed they gave me 1 king bed but compined from 2 singel bed sheets, Only 2 towels, No cleaning service, No water for drink in room, no coffe machine in the room, Machines located downstairs they have prices for drinks, etc. Expensive more than other machines and markets.

Bathroom wasn’t clean at all! Daily cleaning of bathroom is required in a mixed dormitory. Having a curtain for the bed would be so nice!

Right across from a great metro station, so it’s very to get around the city. Clean property with modern facilities and not noisy at night. The beds have lockers that were big enough for my bags and extra space. I recommend going to Bouillon Chartier for great French food at a great restaurant for VERY good prices

Please add curtains to the beds, especially as mine was in front of the door. When I checked in, there were sheets and a blanket folded on top of my bed. I went out for a little, and when I came back, another guest had gone through my sheets and blanket and thrown things around. Also a crazy guy tried to chase me in front of the hostel so I just went inside, however I’d been lingering outside on the phone. If you’re just passing, you’ll be fine.

The bed were comfortable

This has been the worst hostel I have ever been to be honest. Not clean at all, the sheets were with marks and toilet was dirty, you had to pay extra for everything even the towels, there were no common spaces you can socialise with other people except the bar where you must buy something and the prices seems to me pricer than other places..

The room was nice and the location was good

There was no hot water, the water was freezing so I didn't shower, very disappointing.

It was not even the property it was the people in the room. People getting back at 11pm, turning the lights on and talking like they had the room for themselves .

The linen was new and clean.

I spent the night in a 10-bed room. Everything would have been fine if the beds hadn't creaked. It was impossible to sleep at night, I felt uncomfortable, and so did others. There was also a clingy drunk man in the room, which made me feel unsafe. So if you care about separate male and female rooms, you better look for/ask for it :)

Rooms are really nice but the beds are not comfortable at all. I was there just for one night so I can’t say that much.

The smell of the restaurant was terrible. It smells everything but food.

I went at the beginning of winter and the window did not block the freezing wind, it was difficult to use the toilet.

Friendly staff. Shower and bathroom in the dorm. Good access to some interesting neighbourhoods - Bellville, Canal and city centre by metro.

In the communal space aka bar/cafe loud music is played all day long and they don't have a quiet space. I had to work a bit and after a day there I was really tired. People staying there were not that social on average.

I dont think they regularly sweep (or even mop) the room floor. I was staying for two nights. And the room floor was even more dirty compared to the first time I arrived. The point about the cleanness was they took the rubbish regularly, which was good. But it could be better if they also ensure the floor is clean too.

The facilities were good and it's across the street from a metro station.

No kitchen and no bringing food in (eat ours we were told)!! For people with dietary issues this is non-negotiable as we can't eat your food!! Forcing us to eat in your restaurant is not going to ensure it happens. Sure got tired of cold grocery food. Dissatisfied. The restaurant atmosphere, table arrangements and the food rules gave the feeling you had to buy food to use the area for hanging out. No good space for meeting others and hanging out except a few spots in front of the window (terrace closed).

Good location close to Canal st Martin area. Area felt safe. Easily found. well served by cafes and shops. We had a delux twin terrace room on the 8th floor. good size room - basic but fine. Added bonus of the terrace which would be great in the summer. Got a late check out of 13h which was unasked for and not charged. We didn't use the hotel facilities on this visit but for those that would it all seemed welcoming, buzzy and friendly. The roof terrace bar closes in the winter but that looked like a great place with a wonderful view of Montmartre.

Shower was a bit feeble. Room was very stuffy and over heated. The door to the terrace , the only 'window' was either open or closed, you couldn't just open it a bit to let air in - it was too windy so it got blown wide open all the time - something to help just keep it ajar would be nice and neither of us slept well due to the room being so stuffy. Would be nice to have coffee facilties in the room or at least some water glasses. Twin beds were on the small size but were OK.

the staff are accommodating, the facilty is nice, the location to metro is a plus.

1. i always need to go to reception to activate my key card, i don't know for some reason it keeps getting deactivated. 2. the mattress is dirty, it should be replaced also, not only the pillow, and blankets. 3. the toilet bowl in our room was clogged so we cannot use it.

Conveniently located and inexpensive

The computer system was down when we arrived meaning we couldn’t check in at our agreed time. We were only in Paris for one day, so losing an hour put a big dent in our stay

There is no place to sit at the reception. The bar is closed in the morning only for those who have booked breakfast and the terrace is closed in the winter.

Beds were comfortable with attached lights and sufficient space to keep one's stuff.

Wahsroom facilities didn’t match the expectations much. Also Cleanliness could be improved.

Location is fine, it is very close to metro station. The beds are comfy, and they do have a shower and toilet in every room. They provide box to put in your luggage (although you need your own padlock to lock it up). The buffet breakfast was good and the staff was kind enough to let me try two different French dishes!

Every other thing apart from the room came with charges. Towel: 10 euros, Padlock: 10 euros, Luggage storage: 10 euros for 6 hours; Breakfast: 10 euro; Early checkin: 10 euro etc. At the end I ended up paying almost 50 euros in addition to booking price.

Overall it was good value for money, in a decent location and the bed was comfortable

It's off season so there wasn't much going on in the hostel socially which is understandable. I felt the rooms were never cleaned after check outs because there was consistent rubbish in the dorm over the few days. Definitely bring ear plugs because I could hear music at night. The only other thing I was annoyed about was I got over charged when keeping my bag in the locker because the time was 10 minutes too fast so I ended up paying 10 euro for an hour! I raised it with the staff to let them know the time was off but I wasn't offered my money back or anything which was annoying but it was only 4 euro. Also 7.50 for the towel was a bit expensive!

Pillow was uncomfortable and thin, reading light on my bed didn't work and I didn't like not having a privacy curtain on my bed.

Loved how clean and simple it was.

Some of the women I was sharing the room with were inconsiderate when it came to their noise levels late at night and early in the morning. Wasn't so much of an issue for me, but I could tell the other women were very upset. Maybe the facility could include a chart or link to something that informs visitors of hostel etiquette.

It was my second or third time staying at this hostel and the fact that I keep coming back speaks for itself. I believe that their prices in Paris are difficult to beat, I genuinly love the location and area around it, overall a fantastic stay if you are on a budget. I was staying at a different room this time around, it was a bit smaller and had just one shower instead of two, but the 8 of us didn't have to be in line even once to share the space. I think that the comfort of your stay in this hostel mostly depends on your roommates, so if they turn out to be pleasant people - you will have a pleasant stay in this hostel.

I would prefer if the bed was made upon arrival, it is a bit annoying that you need to fiddle with the sheets late at night at the top bunk bed. Also, what I really recommend for the stay in this hostel is an eyemask. There are no curtains covering the bed area, so if people come late at night and turn on the light - you will notice it, especially at the top bunk. It can be loud sometimes as this hostel is a popular location to stay in for school trips, I've seen and heard a lot of minors running around the halls and having a blast in their room. As for me - I do not find it unusual for a hostel, but if you are a light sleeper - that may be disrupting for you.

No kitchen - a big deal for people with dietary issues and on a budget. I know you said you want us to eat your food so we can't bring any in, but my doctor won't let me eat your food (gluten and lactose free). Cold grocery food was awful!

Easy to get to by train but still fairly out of the city centre. Would be good to have kitchen facilities to cook our own food.

Dryer on Laundry room never worked and despite many people complaining, they never offered any solutions. I kept paying more and more for another round of drying but machines just weren't working properly.

Harriet at reception was very helpful and located my glasses behind the desk left behind from an earlier stay at Generator. I tried for weeks to get through and very frustratingly could not find any way to contact your hostel. Harriet saved the day but still frustrated not able to make contact by email or phone with Generator once I had left.
