Hotel Pod 39, New York

The location was amazing! Short walk to my favorite restaurant KJun, and Grand Central. It's a great place for the price for solo travelers who won't be in the room much. The staff was really nice as well.

The room was loud! The phone beeped for no reason, the AC was like a train and you could hear your neighbors at all times. Also, the fire alarm above the bed flashed constantly! Sensory overload for sure.

the rooms are very small for 2 people and frosted shower was an uncomfortable find for us as we are traveling as friends, so we had to step out to the lobby every time we wanted to shower

the only thing that I would ask you to look into is to change those maneater curtains in the shower. The shower is great (hot and cold water with good space) but that plastic curtain is a killer

The AC, second time I stayed here and the AC is too uncomfortable for the size of the room. Either its too cold or too hot.

The shower was a problem because every time we took a shower, the water from the shower overflowed all over the bathroom.

The room was really clean and the beds and pillows were super comfy. Birlliant to have air con as the temp outside was boiling the whole week. Out issue is i tried booking a Pod39 that didn't have bunk beds, as myself or my colleague really didn't want to climb the ladder every night and during the night for the toilet. Apart from that, it was perfect! Loved the roof top bar and place to chill!!!

The room is tiny, but it’s got everything you need if you’re planning on mainly using it for sleeping. The bathroom is decently sized, you have your bed, a small desk and a chair, as well as some hangers and a security locker. The location is fab; you’re close to pretty much everything central, while still being in a quieter location. I loved my walks back from Broadway in the evenings.

I think my only complaint is that the shower only has an overhead shower head, which is also quite high up, so it’s quite difficult to make sure you get everything while you shower.

Great location close to Grand Central Station so easy to catch a train also good bus links stopping near the hotel. Lots of facilities available we just didn't maximise on these during our stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

The room was smaller than expected but still manageable. I would have preferred if the shower included a handheld wand in addition to the overhead option. Unfortunately, the sliding door didn’t close fully and kept sliding open.

It was great for someone not planning on spending very much time in their room. We just needed a decent place to sleep well and shower before moving on to our next adventures. When you have a lot of activities planned you don't need to spend a lot of money on hotels you won't really spend much time in. The location was perfect!

I really enjoyed my stay at Pod39. The location was excellent, the hotel was clean, and despite its very small size, the room was comfortable. It offers good value for money.

I think it is important to recycle, and there were no recycling options at the hotel. Also, the temperature in the corridors was excessively cold. It is important not to abuse air conditioning as it is a major environmental pollutant. We all have a responsibility to take care of the environment and reduce our contribution to climate change. I would like to see hotels doing everything they can to help protect the planet.

Great location and great facilities

A little too tight for 2 people (although to be expected for NYC), and the room said “city views” which wasn’t true.

The hotel is very well located in Manhattan close to train stations and main attractions. The hotel staff is very efficient and friendly. No long queues at reception desk was a blessing. The room was small but enough for a single user like me. The bed was comfortable with plenty of nice pillows. There were other facilities like gym (free to use) and breakfast to purchase but I did not use those.

There was no fridge but three floors up there was an ice machine so I could get all the ice I needed. Despite the small room the bathroom is spacious with a very strong stream. I was concerned that the room was next door to a lift but the noise did not bothered me.

Friendly helpful front desk staff. Friendly cleaning staff. Free upgrade for my birthday. Roof top bar is gorgeous. Complimentary tea and coffee in the morning was a nice touch. Good location seemed to be 20 minutes walk from most things. Lovely restaurants and bars within the area if you want something quieter.

Breakfast staff and security really moody. Roof top bar was extortionate. Reception doesn't look like photos it's like the lights were broken really dark and no atmosphere. Room was dark and dingy and it wasn't a pleasure to relax in was more of a bed to sleep in and stay out as much as possible. My room was a queen room which made me wonder what the cheaper rooms were like!

Only coffee included at breakfast, but pastries etc. can be bought at the cafe.

The hotel is very close to the subway and many restaurants. We had bagels right around the corner, and they were magnificent. Pod 39 is essentially the same as any other good hotel, but with smaller rooms, which drives the lower prices.

The only concern was that our used towels were taken by the facilities workers, but were not replaced with fresh ones. This problem was solved very quickly when we contacted the front desk staff.

Room was very very small.

For breakfast, they offered free coffee or tea. While the bed is a bunk bed, the setup with a small lamp and shelf is very nice and allows some individual spaces in the room. Moreover, the mattress were very comfortable.

The restroom door is glass with only part of it frosted, and technically, you can see through it from the top bunk bed. This setup will request some trust if you are traveling with someone. In addition, both the room and the restroom are tiny; consider your luggage size when traveling.

A little noisy at night which might be an issue for light sleepers (thankfully I’m a heavy sleeper).

The location is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The best was the roof terrace on the 17th floor! And I was happy that my room was facing the back, without street noise!

The size of the room is really very small, but gradually I got used to it.
