Cleanliness and convince

Small bed

Good location - close to many places walking, and to subway or bus. Close to shop, to bar with bagles (for breakfast). Helpfull and nice staff. 3 fast elevators. Hot water of tea or coffe in the morning (7-11 am). Free tour with guide in not obvious places in NYC.

What was surprising and not in my standard - glass door with only central belt of smoke to restroom / bathroom, what forced us to leave room for time when other of us used this very helpfull places :) But in basement hotel predicted 4 additional restrooms, what was a kind of solvation in this situation.

Tea and coffee in room

Closeness to United Nations Headquarters and UN Women HQs. These were the two meeting venues For the price of the room, the accommodation was satisfactory.

The staff were very friendly. Coffee in the morning and a restaurant/ bar in one building was very convenient.

The room was extremely small, like in the Netherlands. There was no closet, and the place for the suitcase was not big enough for mine. This, of course, cannot be changed, and personally, it did not destroy my stay, but for someone for whom space is crucial - this is a huge problem.

Quick elevators, stable housekeeping schedule, open terrace on the top floor.

I Stayed in an individual bedroom with bathroom and can't expect better value for money in NY. Location is excelent. Hotel facilities and services are really good, including free guided walking tours.

Cafe could offer more options.

We share a comfortable room for the price and purpose (being a small room). That would sound weird but all the building smells nice! They kept the vintage structure but everything looks fresh and clean. Also, I couldn't hear anything from the street as it was everything super quiet (except for the elevator sound, which was ok and normal). Love the time there, and the location is a MUST.

Despite the shower curtains were a bit shorter making the bathroom floor wet, I could use more than one available towels to dry it.

They offered tea and coffee during the breakfast hours, but if they offered it all day I think that it would be great and it would not be such an expense for the company.

I could not figure out how to just turn on the lamp on the side of the bed. I found the little knob on it, but I could not operate it independently from the room lights. It would be helpful to just be able to turn the side light on, without having to get out of bed.

Very convenient location and great price for biz traveler.

Ugh. I was offered an upgrade - 2 beds! Sure I'll take it, but turned out it was a bunk bed, which for one person, basically took up all the head room in the unit.

The room was comfortable for one person with not a lot of luggage. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The shower room was small but adequate. It’s what you would expect from a Pod Hotel. The location was close to Grand Central which is what I wanted. The staff were helpful and the communication from the hotel was excellent. I noticed that they also had free walking tours which is a nice plus for travellers.

I had no issues with the hotel.

The location is ideal and near my office. Breakfast should be included with the hotel, at least simple snacks.

Chilly, and no extra bedding to layer

The accommodation was perfect for me. Walking distance from main streets/attractions. The single room is a bit small if you have big luggage but otherwise I didn’t have any problem. Supermarkets/coffee shops near by. The staff was very nice and helpful. I could check in earlier as my room was ready when I arrived.

After more than one month and a half we still didn't get the 200 dollars deposit back. (100 dollars every room)

I liked the staff, they were very pleasant! It was nice to be staying in the center of everything, and I thought it was awesome that they offered guided tours for guests!

The only thing I could possibly complain about was that the AC fan was REALLY loud when it was on and would keep us up at night, so my boyfriend and I would honestly turn off the heating at night so we could actually get some sleep.

Simple and clean hotel, with small but practical rooms. Nice and helpful staff. The beds are comfy.

Besides rooms being quite small, the main discomfort is the heating system (which is via A/C), getting a good night sleep might be a challenge for someone - as its pretty loud.

My room was right off the elevator so it was loud at all times. Barely slept.

The location is amazing, especially for the price. It’s close to the Grand Central Station so you don’t have to drag your luggage far to reach your accommodation. The staff was very sweet and hotel is very peaceful. Traveling as a students on a budget, this was amazing, we felt very safe.

The staff at the check in were nice and willing to help, the bed was very comfortable and our room had great ventilation. They have a very nice area at the entrance to chill out in the morning with a coffee. Location was also great

Very good location. I’ve stayed here several times before. Nice staff. The jitney bus to the Hamptons is a very close walk near the hotel.

Was expecting to go up to the roof top but the guy said it was closed just disappointed… You guy should provide a hot water station or even a free water to drink - had stomach ache that evening can’t even find something to feel at home in your place … HI HOSTELS does that since they have full functional kitchen being provided to their guests it’s just that they don’t have the location like yours

Fantastic Mid town location. About a 25 or so minute walk from the train station. I found the staff very friendly during the stay and when the lights didn't work in the bathroom they were quick enough to send someone to fix it. Decent lounge and friendly service in the adjacent restaurant. It is very hard to find a two bed property at an affordable price in Manhattan that was a bit "cool". This fit the bill. While the room is very small it suited what we needed for a weekend.

The lack of privacy in the bathroom. Semi frosted glass panel is all that separates the bathroom from the bedroom. Traveling with my 16 year old daughter I found myself leaving the room to give her a bit of privacy when she was going to the bathroom or changing. The room was pretty tiny but sufficient for our needs. The size of the room and the bathroom are the only reason it's a a "9" and not a "10".

The fact that the bathroom wasn’t too private, if my boyfriend was walking around the room he’d easily see me sitting on the toilet

Small but safe and a comfortable. They changed sheets every day and towel, overall everything accessible and easy to get to.

The pod (ok, it was a room, even if a very small one) was clean and well equipped. The location is great. The staff was very nice.

I don't blame them because they are charging market rates given accommodation in NYC is crazily overpriced, but, seriously, it's quite expensive compared to what you get.

staff was super friendly and helpful with our bags. the room was kept clean and housekeeping done daily to a good standard. overall good experience!

The matress was tooo soft

The location is perfect as it is in midtown - close proximity to all the tourist spots yet it doesn’t get busy in the area. All the staff, be it in the day or night shifts, were exceptional, helpful & really friendly, especially Jenae, Christine, Zack & Shawn ( Shaun)

I would say the showers as I couldn’t adjust to warm without keeping it on & nozzle turned to extreme left or right, & there seems no facility to heat up food like a microwave. But other than that, the property has all what you need for a 3 star hotel & overall this a great place to stay in NYC at a reasonable price & location is perfect.

It’s a nice place for travelling on a budget. Very well located, staff is nice.

Room very small but as the name says, it is kind of a pod. Bathroom and shower was great. Free coffee in the morning also nice detail. Terrace has the greatest view of NYC!

Free Walking Tours of all the neighborhoods was a superb bonus. Safe area day and night. Great free WiFi. Cosy well designed small rooms.

At peak breakfast time the elevators took well over 5 minutes to arrive and were sometimes too full to get in. I complained to management and they acknowledged this problem. I even missed a train because I was waiting so long for an elevator to come.

Wonderful location if you want to be in a well located area, super comfy bed, the bedroom was well cleaned all the time.

Make sure you book the right room you want. We changed rooms 2 times. The rooms are mostly super tiny, which is great for just one person, but if you are a couple or have a lot of luggage, it can be difficult to fit in there. The good thing is that there are larger rooms and the staff is always available to make your stay better.

The location is perfect to visit the time square and Rockefeller center

Air conditioner noise like air planes, sent onsite engineer to fix , but problem not resolved.

Pod 39 is meant to be an high-value, economical place to stay with great access. It accomplishes this very well. Great neighborhood, easily accessible from Grand Central, and next to my all-time fave NYC restaurant KJun. Rooms are small but efficient. If you need refrigerators, a large sink, etc (I have a family member with medical needs that necessitate this) it wouldn't be the right place to stay but for the average weekender, it's a great option. The public areas are funky and cute.

Some of the design choices - like a showerhead that is directly overhead - are not the smartest (you can't shower easily without getting your hair wet, which makes me suspect the architect was probably someone who has never had long or natural hair). This is a very small problem in the grand scheme of things and it was well worth the savings.

The room was too small and there was not enough space. No coffee or tea maker in the room. We had an issue with the bed. The Mattress had an issue, and my mom felt very bad backache. We asked them to change the mattress, but they changed our room, and we were satisfied with that. The wifi only works with one device. We were two that stayed in the room, but only one of us was able to connect to the wifi.
