Hotel Pod 39, New York

It's my second time staying for business purposes. Good location, clean and welcoming staff. I requested an early check-in.Landed early in the morning after 20+ hours flight. The first staff member stored my luggage and said the room may be available at 10am, after having a morning stroll and breakfast nearby, back to the hotel 10am+ still unable to get a room. 11+ another staff member sees my exhausted face and flu finally manage to get me a room. Thank you to the staff who saved my day, didn't get his name, a white guy with glass.

Nice hotel with a charming rooftop. Very convenient location, close to the subway and train stations, perfect to visit the city on foot!

I found the mattress a little compacted, so I remade the bed to change the orientation of my head. Slept great the night after I did that

Great location. They have a cozy bar/lounge. Nice bathroom.

The room was clean with a nice bathroom but very small and the mattress wasn't very comfortable. It needs an upgrade.

How central it was to a lot of things in the city. The staff were all really nice and helpful! The lobby bar has a really nice setup for entertainment!

I felt for what you get in a bunked bedroom the cost was rather high per night. The rooftop bar was closed when we arrived and while we were there. It would be off nice if the hotel told us about this before we arrived as we were looking forward to that. The number of automated text messages could be cut down. I do appreciate that they have the check-in messages in place, however I think only one or two are required, not a message everyday.

The location was the main thing, rooms are small, smaller than expected, but we found comfort in them. It was clean and coffee in the mornings was on time at 7 am

Location; ride from JFK airport made us feel like princesses; free coffee (even though was bad, but we really need caffeine) and water; common area; clean towels and beds made every day.

Dust in the room, mostly in the carpet and windows; noise from other rooms; loud heating system; bathroom with no ventilation; limited storage room. We stayed for 12 nights in NYC and that was too much for such a small room, even if this was the best priced place we could find in Manhattan.

My sister and I stayed at Pod 39 for 6 nights during our trip to NYC. This was our first trip to New York and it was a fantastic location. As two girls in our twenties, it was a very safe and great location. We were on the 15th floor and the view was amazing!! It is a little expensive, but it was to be expected due to the location and the time of the year we went (November). The rooms are small (hence the word “pod”!), but has everything you could need! They are very clean with a comfy bed, heating and AC, space for your luggage/clothes and a great functioning bathroom, with hot water. The ice machine on our floor was a great touch, a water machine would have been fab. The staff were super friendly and answered any question we had. Would definitely recommend!

Nothing I didn’t like! The rooms would benefit from a bit cleaner/softer interior as the steel doors were quite a harsh look. A water machine on the floor would have also been great.

The bunk rooms were much smaller than expected. Stayed at the Pod location in time square before and those were more spacious. But overall it was nice.

Really exactly what you would expect, in a good way. Basic but very central, very lively and extremely clean.

The rooms are pretty snug, but that’s New York, so no worries. The heavy metal doors were pretty loud with people coming and going at all hours, but just takes a little getting used to. In general, the room was reasonably quiet.

Great location and staff. Very nice bar with free tea and coffee in the morning. Free pool table and table tennis too.

Rooms are very small but well designed and functional, apart from the light above the bed which I kept hitting my head on.

One of the reasons we booked the hotel was the right terrace. We weren’t informed it was actually closed during our stay. Otherwise we would have booked elsewhere. Also the rooms are way too small. We could barely move around in them. This needs to be more explicit in the room descriptions.

Amazing location! Walking distance to Grand Central St, lots of restaurants nearby. Super clean and quiet at night to sleep. Bathroom nice and bright with double windows.

Bottom bunk bed is quite low to the ground, more than I expected.

The location was excellent – within walking distance to many attractions. The room was clean and I appreciated that the housekeeping staff provided fresh towels daily.

While I enjoyed my stay, be aware that the rooms are very small – almost claustrophobic. Additionally, the bathroom has glass walls, meaning you can see everything, so you need to be comfortable with your travel companion as there is little privacy

- Great location: walking distance from Central Station, Empire State Building. Chrysler Tower - Many restaurants and coffees all around - The room was truly sound proof

- The room was a bit small - The bed was a bit tiny( I am 6'2")

Perfect location for exploring the city. Reception team was very helpful and friendly. Room was cleaned every day and towels were renewed.
