Hotel CitizenM Times Square, New York

Our 18 year old daughter stayed at the hotel on a solo trip to NY. citizenM had everything she needed and nothing she didn’t. She told us the bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location is amazing. You step outside and you are basically surrounded by New York’s greatest hits: Madison Square Garden, Broadway theaters, Times Square, Central Park and Rockefeller Center. The “smart” room was actually pretty awesome, complete with mood lighting that made me feel like I was living inside a sci-fi movie. Breakfast was really good, and the staff? Genuinely wonderful people, always polite and smiling like they actually enjoy seeing us. Pro tip: Carnegie Diner nearby is also a fantastic breakfast spot, huge portions and great prices.

Some days they just skipped room cleaning. A quick call to the lobby fixed it, but it would be nice if cleaning had some sort of predictable schedule so you don’t come back to a surprise towel art project made by yesterday’s self. Only two elevators worked during our stay, which in Manhattan basically means elevator traffic jams, and the gym was closed for a makeover.

The location is excellent. Near time square, theaters, restaurants, and the subways. The subway lines near the hotel, get you to major attractions without a transfer. The roof top bar is a great place to end an evening. They lobby bar is nice and there is a nice breakfast available.

Waiting on elevators can be long. They are working on one this trip.

The location was terrific, you couldn't want to be any nearer Times Square. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the check-in procedure was easy and fast. We appreciated the ironing room and the fact that you could get something to eat or drink pretty much 24 hours a day. The last night we treated ourselves to a few drinks on the rooftop bar, and it was well worth it—probably a highlight of the stay. We chose this hotel because it has a reputation for being LGBTQ+ friendly, and it absolutely was. Although the room was relatively small, the bed was absolutely huge, and very comfortable. With jet lag, we slept 12 hours two nights running without any problem!

It's a small gripe, but it's a bit weird having the bed right up against the window, along the length of the wall. It was very comfortable, clean and fine, it's just that you had to climb on to the bed to get into it if you were on the window side, and it would have been nice to get near to the window to look out properly as well. But it's not a deal-breaker, though in truth the room in reality felt quite a bit smaller to how it looked in the pictures.

Perfect location, just a few steps away from Time Square. We had a quiet room (to the backyard) with a very comfortable bed. However, the rooms are very small, but well furnished and totally clean. We highly recommend this hotel for a city trip in NYC.

The room was a lot bigger than expected and we loved the smart features to control the room. And the location to everything; Times Square, Central Park, Uses, Subway stations, broadway shows, everything was perfect!

Loud, must bring ear plugs to sleep. Front desk staff could have been nicer and more accommodating. Stated they would bring ear plugs to our room and then called us to say we need to return to lobby to get. Small things like that.

Nice hotel with a fancy decoration. Rooftop is a plus. Closer metro station just some steps around the corner.

The people that work here make the hotel special. As soon as you walk in, you feel welcome. Hotel has design and vibe. Hotel room was smaller than I anticipated but super comfy surprisingly. Cool rooftop bar! Bartenders were great, especially in the lobby. Great place for so a traveler to NYC. Location is fantastic.

As always the atmosphere and the very modern room. The bed is spacious and comfortable, so as the pillows. The shower has great pressure and the amenities are also a plus. The cafeteria offers great coffee and food to go.

The location is great, the staff is friendly The room size is ok for New York. The breakfast was amazing. You get a iPad to control the room, but there are also normal switches if you like. The bar on the roof is totally worth visiting. The hotel has it's own unique style, very instagrammable, worth paying attention. Great design

The bathroom and shower is in a frosted glass booth, I would prefer something more private

The bed is pushed right ag against the wall. If my husband were with me, it would mean I would have to climb over him during the night. Also. I don't like the fact the maids are climbing on the bed to make it.

Comfortable bed in a spotlessly clean room…perfect location for seeing a Broadway show. Easy, convenient parking in a garage across the street.

The hotel is ideally located in NYC Theater District; perfect walking distance to Broadway shows and local restaurants. The hotel room was small but clean and efficiently configured for the space. The staff was fantastic. They would helpful, knowledgeable and willing to go extra mile whenever needed.

Friendliness of staff, amazing views from rooftop bar and gym, proximity to several metro lines, and great lobby.

House keeping is loud - bangs, thuds, shouting... true, rooms and aisles are narrow but this part of the experience should improve. Also, can you please add European power outlets so that we can charge our devices in the (very likely) event we forget to carry an adapter with us? No coffee in the room, no basic amenities such as flip flops.

Love all your hotels i have visited so far. Super clean rooms & comfy beds & modern design. Love colors in communal spaces and ambiance.

Thought I was getting breakfast included , when reservation was made , but somehow it wasn't showing when I got there. Price could be lower , especially for the last minute reservation if there are rooms available. Unfortunately US hotels are in generally overpriced.

Staff and bartenders were awesome.

The room was clean and innovative. Loved the IPad control. The room was tiny but had a king bed. If you're partner is ok with you crawling over her/him to pee at 2pm totally worth it....and really great location. Access to Broadway and subway right there. It's a great place for traveling 1 or 2 folks.

Breakfast was awesome!

The staff rocked. Every single one of them! Breakfast was delicious. The location was perfection embodied due to the proximity of shows, etc.

Great central location, easy to get to things without being directly in the chaos of Times Square. The hotel was clean and modern. The rooms were small but we expected that, and it had everything we needed. We also enjoyed the rooftop bar!

The hotel was generally comfortable and clean

but unfortunately, the soundproofing was a major downside. I could clearly hear the elevator operating and noise from the neighbors, which made it difficult to fully relax. If you’re sensitive to noise, this might be something to keep in mind.

All of the staff were so friendly. It was really nice to feel comfortable leaving your room to go hang out in the bars or “living room.” The location was close to everything. The hotel was modern.

The rooms were tiny but I think that’s expected everywhere in that area.

The cleanliness was a great feature of this hotel. I love the room rooms have no carpet. I also enjoyed the location, which was within feet of most Broadway shows. It was also between 20 minutes walk to Saks, Fifth Avenue and other major department stores. It was less than a half of a block away from the closest subway station, which would take you to Canal Street, the world trade center, and all the way down to the ferries to see the Statue of Liberty

Food was just ok, breakfast was decent!

The room was small, but had plenty of storage for clothing and such. The room is very European style, compact, efficient, truly designed for sleeping and getting ready. Two major positives was the functionality of the iPad to control everything in the room and the bathroom. The iPad was Incredibly easy and intuitive. The bathroom, while small, had the best shower for the space provided. Overall, if you’re looking for a hotel in a very convenient location on Broadway and in the heart of uptown, you can’t do much better for the price.

While the bed was big, there was access to it on only one side. If you’re older or less mobile and sharing the bed, may be difficult to access. Also, due to the size, there’s nowhere else to sit besides the bed. Additionally, the fridge was incredibly small. Be cognizant of that with leftovers and takeout and even just for beverages. A couple 20 oz bottles is all that will fit
