Hotel CitizenM Times Square, New York

Citizen M hotels are always predictable - hip and kind of fun, with good public spaces and a pleasant, very accessible vibe. The Times Square location is very convenient, central and with easy access to a good subway line.

Not really a dislike, but the rooms are small and the bed, generous with good linens, is awkward for two (older than the target age) people. Figuring out lights, shades, etc with the ipad controls always takes a minute.

Stayed already two times in this hotel and service keeps being great. Have nothing to complain with.

Great location, friendly staff. Room were comfortable and we loved the ability to control our settings/ check in via the app. We didn’t eat in the hotel as we were out and about a lot but we liked the open plan area on the ground area where you could hang out.

didnt like our room location - right next door to a hotel facilities room. Staff were coming in and out all day long and the door banged every time (sometimes several times minute) which is not great when you go for a daytime nap to beat the jet lag. Would be helpful to put a soft close door on these rooms so no banging!

Location was amazing; very clean room; simplicity of room layout; easy, helpful and friendly check-in; low cost; super fast and available elevators; the duvet; helpful staff!

Needed a coffee maker or tea setup; pillows too soft, but that's personal preference and the staff happily supplied extra pillows when requested; lighting system wasn't very user-friendly.

Amazing location close enough to Times Square but the perfect distance away. Really cool common areas and an incredibly cosy modern room to stay in.

Room really small and nowhere to put big suitcases except one under the bed. 2 pax Travelling for 4 weeks, we have more than 1 suitcase. Only complaint, nowhere to put them

Location is ideal! Many places of interest are within walking distance, 2 subway lines 100 m from the hotel. Ideal to explore Manhattan. Rooms are on a small side but very practical, so 2 persons fit perfectly. Good breakfast. But most of all - amazing staff! So nice and helpful!

Double bed with one blanket- I was with my kid and it’s not practical if you are not a couple. Lights are operated from an iPad (like curtains, temperature, tv and the rest), and it’s all or nothing, so you can’t just switch on wc light at night.

Roof top bar was amazing!

Our room was extremely drafty from the large window and our heat did not work. At one point during the trip it was 4 degrees. We were given an extra blanket and a complementary breakfast.

You need to understand Citizen M hotels in order for them to work for you!!! This is the 3rd or 4th we have stayed in and I think they are brilliant. Yes... The room is SMALL because they prioritise a super king bed size. This is important to me!! They also ensure that all rooms in the hotel have a 'view'. This means that one side of the bed is right up against the giant window (ie you cannot walk around both sides of the bed) - this is never a problem for us. The window is enormous and we had a great view opting for the 'best view at night' check in option. They maximise the under bed storage, a large drawer in which you can fit suitcases, and you get two hanging space cupboards. There is a little fridge which you could fill with your own drinks. I love everything controlled by the iPad, lights, curtains, black out blind and TV, and find the entire set up very easy to use and satisfactory. The shower is in a little pod within the bedroom; it was great, super water pressure and shower gel provided. I always think daily cleaning of hotel rooms is excessive, here they clean every 3 days. For each day you dont have a room clean money is donated to charity. You can of course request a more frequent room clean. I keep my room tidy anyway, so this is not an issue for me. There is no kettle, but tea bags and hot water downstairs readily available. There is no iron in the room, again not a problem for us. We did not mind visiting the ironing station on the 2nd floor. We did not have breakfast included, as visiting New York we always wanted to go somewhere for breakfast! Finally, the staff. Everyone we met downstairs was friendly and helpful.

We were greeted by Josh (I think that’s his name) and he checked us in. He was super helpful and welcoming !

In our room, the glass of the window was broken. I alerted the front desk because if a child goes near it that could be really dangerous. Also, we were sleeping when the fire alarm went off twice and it was a false alarm.

The decor was clean and fun, staff were really helpful and friendly and the location was great

Everything was great! They allowed us to check in early, the room was small but worked for what we needed. The technology is great with everything controlled on a tablet and the shower is really cool! Would definitely stay here again!

Room was great on 10th Floor. Lifts were fine fairly quick bar one day but to be expected. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice although healthy food does not really appear on the menu except for fruit salad.

It is not the same as in other US cities, less amenities: no solid soap, no safer, less decor items as books, toys etc

- Comfortable bed and pillows, in combination with the remote black out blind makes for great sleep. - Hotel decor is very cool.

I love the location. It is 2 minute walk to Times Square. All Broadway theaters are walking distance. Staff was amazing. Rooms are very clean with great views. Would highly recommend.

The hotel was very modern and well equipped and the location was very good. The reception and lounge area were very comfortable with a bar and breakfast facilities. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

The room was a little small and we found the bed difficult to use as there was only one side that we could use to get in and out which meant that we either had to climb over each other or (as we did), put the pillows under the window and lay across the bed the other way. The bed was very big so it didn't compromise our comfort but it was just a little annoying.

Loved the rooms, while they are very small, it never felt cramped as a solo traveler. Breakfast was great too.

The hotel is situated at the heart of Broadway, a 2-3mins walk away from Times Square and has 1 nearby subway stop. The staff was very accommodating and the overall amenities are well-operated using a tablet. The place is also perfect for relaxation with their lounge and rooftop bar service
