Lonely Planet review:

“This 90-room hotel sits in the exquisitely renovated old Pabst Brewery complex. Each of the large chambers has steampunk decor, a kitchenette and free wi-fi. It’s at downtown’s far west edge, about a half-mile walk from sausagey Old World 3rd St and a good 2 miles from the festival grounds.”

It was the perfect location for our event in town with clean, beautiful rooms and great staff.

I loved the decor with the old stills from the brewery.

I would have appreciated more than 1 washcloth for the bathroom and darker window coverings to keep the sunlight out.

Enjoyable Stay

The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. The hotel itself was beautiful.

Some cleaning details in the room needed attention. The grout in the shower could have been cleaner and some register vents were dirty. The gift shop items also were very pricey compared to others in the area. Parking, as a whole, in the city was also pricey.

Very unique hotel you won't find anywhere else, but you will be glad you came.

The desk person, Eddie, was warm and welcoming. A couple in our party ran into issues with their reservation (made through a 3rd party), and Eddie worked the problem through to resolution. The Brewhouse is a very unique place. Now a hotel, it was formerly the place Pabst beer was brewed. From a stained glass window from the brewing days, to huge copper kettles, winding staircases, and period furniture, it was a fun place. We had a good tasting dinner in the adjoining bar/restaurant. The morning of our departure AnnMarie the Social Sales manager, spent some time with us talking about the story of how/when the transformation took pace from brewery to hotel. She also provide some FUN FACTS and other interesting material about the hotel and its surrounding area.

The only slight shortcoming is the continental breakfast offered for free is very sparse. As an option you can order from a menu from the hotel restaurant.

Really enjoyed the whole history of the hotel and surrounding buildings.

Location was great. Close to everything.

Parking was not to good. Spent over $100.00 on parking for two days. Just as bad as Chicago.

Unique, historic hotel in an up and coming area of Milwaukee

We loved the historic charm of the old brewery and the elements from it that were used throughout the property. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food is very good. It’s a unique touch that they offer a glass of Pabst while checking in.

Finding parking near the hotel is a challenge. They offer valet service, but it is pricey. They advertise a complimentary breakfast, though it consisted of small danishes, apples and oranges. There was regular and decaf coffee, but no tea. I found the room to be a bit cold at night, even with the thermostat set to 72, and requested a blanket for our second night.

I definitely will be booking the brewhouse again. I look forward to staying here again.

The rooms were very spacious and I really appreciated having a little kitchenette within our room. The staff were all friendly and accommodating during our stay.

Some of the furniture wasn’t super comfortable in the room like the couch, but overall that wasn’t a huge ordeal. We had very minimal issues.

Beautiful Hotel, Great Beer, Fun Stay

The entire building is beautifully designed, from the lobby, to the copper brewing kettles, the amazing stained glass and the nicely appointed hotel rooms. Also, it’s a nice perk that they offer you beer when you check in!

Having to pay for parking unless you luck into a spot once Milwaukee’s free parking times kick in. Also, there was a sporadic random knocking in the wall, possibly from the heating system. It’s possible it was only room related, but I had to sleep with my earplugs in.

Really charming historic brewery campus with friendly staff: extremely clean, well designed rooms.

The Pabst buildings are so cleverly restored and used for a variety of purposes. This hotel was across the street from the Pabst Best Place, where we had an event earlier that day. There is also a really cute coffee shop right there which was delicious. We had our own food, so didn't try the restaurants, but there seem to be several options. The room had a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster,, microwave, and stove top. There was lots of storage. The shower was large and the water pressure was great. The bed was very comfortable. There was an interesting magazine which featured some local small businesses. I would have been comfortable staying there a week or longer. It was very quiet and comfortable.

There was no private wifi and the television was small and didn't have a whole lot of channels. There was no dish soap. We found some dish soap to buy downstairs and were mainly doing work in the room, so the TV was fine for us. We used our own hot spots for wifi.

short sentence not needed…. extravagant

This place has so many sites to see around the area and in the buildings. The history behind it and inside that has you comfortably interested to admire.. old humbling textured style. provided us with a soulful experience and draws me back. The buildings designs are so beautiful. And holds its longevity. Must see and experience hands down. The staff are amazing and humble. CLASSY😉☺️

I like and loved the inner history and modern approach to the history it saved inside its walls. I liked the bar/ restaurant was right next door in same building.the local bars are the property are delightful. I liked the staff was so laid back I became personal friends with a few. Have wonderful conversations about the esthetic and availability it provides and simply the respectful privacy.

I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling for business or pleasure - we'll be back!

This was the perfect spot for us - we were able to walk to the Pabst History tour, which was fun and entertaining, the Deer District, and the MKE Public Museum. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and our room was quiet, spacious, and comfortable. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant, On Tap, and the food and service there was excellent.

I honestly cannot think of anything we did not like about this place.

The noise was an annoyance, but the only time it’s been an issue

I have stayed here several times. The room is huge- the interior & lobby are clean and cozy. It’s located in the historic Pabst brewery with fun Pabst & food options adjacent.

Our room was directly above the restaurant (3 floors above it) and thr music and noise were VERY clear until it closed at 2 AM. I have stayed in every area of this hotel- all others are quiet & provaye.

Brewhouse

Loved the history of the building and the bar restaurant attached. It's within walking distance of several terrific breweries. The doors that look like glasses of beer were my favorite!

There wasn't anything I didn't like! It's a little expensive so wouldn't stay often but was fun!!

Valet parking was too expensive. Milwaukee overnight street parking website was overly complicated. Breakfast was not included in room rate.

PBR me, ASAP.

The history of the Brewhouse is a big part of Milwaukee, and the restoration of this building is incredible. We loved the photos and architectural details.

Some of the room fittings needed repair - the shade didn't work, the curtains did not close all the way. This was minor relative to the comfort of the room.

Comfortable stay at a renovated brewery in Milwaukee

I had a queen studio suite, which was one large room with full shower bathroom on the ground floor. The room had a kitchenette but I only used the refrigerator and sink. The bed was comfortable and there was a desk, a high-top seating area, an armchair and a bench. I had a continental breakfast included and that was ok. The hotel building itself is quite interesting and well-renovated, with a view of huge vats formerly used for brewing beer on the second floor. The restaurant had typical bar-type food (at lunch, at least).

The lighting in my room was a bit dim. The room looked out onto an outdoor patio for the restaurant and got a bit noisy when a large group was there, and therefore it seemed less private if you wanted to have the window shade fully open. The surrounding area has a few places to eat and a small grocery across the street, and it is architecturally quite interesting with various brewery-related buildings nearly, but it was at least a twenty-minute walk to the central business and entertainment area of Milwaukee.

Historical style preserved magnificently with comfort of modern hotel

Loved how the historical presence was preserved with style while all the comfort of modern hotels was instilled. We had a wonderful stay!!

Area to unload in front with the stairs in the front was very difficult and other cars were waiting. Then parking across the street- ok for summer, but would be a pain in winter.

Clean, comfortable, quiet room with good bed.

Attractive rooms with very good quality finishes, good bed, kitchenette w/large fridge, good step in shower.

No task lighting next to the bed, no grab bar in shower, no exhaust fan or supplemental heater in bathroom, no garage! $40 for valet parking, unable to access our car without bothering the valet to retrieve it.

This place has great atmosphere!

A great hotel in a former brewery, this place offers great atmosphere for beer-lovers! Spacious rooms, super comfortable beds, very good breakfast (not complimentary though) and a small gym too.

We waited like 15 minutes for somebody to show up at the reception desk to check us in.
