Everything the amenities the location the cleaning mention THE STAFF EVERYBODY EACH ONE makes me feel the best as a 5 star hotel with incredible prices. And one detail to mention apart from all the above, I left my driver's license and when I returned days later they had my ID safe. In Miami I recommend 100%

There is a bar in the hostel, it makes a lot of noise in the room, there is no curtain in the bunk bed to give privacy, there is no communal kitchen, there were some snacks with me that I bought to have breakfast, I ended up losing everything because there was no refrigerator to store, you have to have breakfast on the street because you can’t make your own since there is no kitchen, also there were people eating inside the room, there is no parking and nobody knows to explain how to pay for public parking, staff unfriendly.

Staff was super unhelpful, Hallways, lift and rooms stink a lot. I booked a bed in Dorm for two days only to come back to see the bed given to someone else and my stuff all over the place. This kind of experience is absolutely ruined the whole experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are other hostels nearby which are much cleaner, staff who are much nicer and importantly they don't give your bed to someone else while you are still checked in.

Amazing property! Gorgeous! Loved all of the interior and exterior spaces! The staff were lovely, especially Agus, who helped us so much throughout our stay. We loved our room! Loved the pool! Loved the two restaurants on property! Great location! Can't wait to stay here again! This place has all the vibes!!!

Parking. City parking is close. But, you have to be strategic and locals are not kind when competing for spaces. Lesson learned. If you don't need to bring a car, don't. If you do and you find a good spot, keep it. Walk, bike, bring scooters, uber, etc. But, keep your spot.

Clean and comfortable and the entrance is very lovely and modern. The food looks good, although we didn't eat here. The location is good, really close to the beach but not very close to many restaurants.

The whole hotel is quite shabby. It was clean but it didn't feel clean because it needs a major update. The walls are very thin so you can hear all the other rooms and the windows aren't double-glazed so you can hear street noise really loudly as well. Overall, probably wouldn't stay here again despite the good location and good price. The staff aren't particularly helpful either - We had a couple of issues with parking and they basically shrugged their shoulders.

Only dislike was the poor communication about the parking situation. We knew about street parking, we just didn’t know that we weren’t going to be able to extend it for the entire stay. It was hard to completely relax having to watch the clock and renew every 3 hours and worst was needing to move our vehicle to other zones when we were unable to extend due to restrictions. That added a level of stress we never anticipated.

When we arrived there were police at the front of the hotel, lots of people around, vomit and trash in front of the entrance to the hotel. The room smelled of mold and smoke, it felt dirty, dusty and damp. Guests yelling in the hallway most of the night/early morning.

This is a really great place. There is an amazing courtyard with lush greenery and loads of seating. There is a pool with a disco ball over it, colorful pool floats, and surrounded by cushioned loungers. Cool lizards to observe. Chill music. Really great atmosphere, everyone is here to relax and enjoy. Great interior design in the lobby and rooms. Comfortable beds, and couches. Nice showers. There are extras too like things to take to the beach (maybe umbrellas, chairs, and towels... I forget what) and 2 hours of free bicycle use.

The outdoor area with the pool is beautiful, and the location is great – but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Our room was dirty, and there were many cockroaches. Around 11pm, we couldn’t sleep because the insects were everywhere and very disturbing. We went to the reception for help, and they changed our room, but the new one was still not good. We ended up leaving that same night and moved to another hotel.

I’ve stayed at other Freehand locations and had great experiences, but the Freehand Miami Beach was a huge disappointment. It felt dingy and rundown from the moment we arrived—completely unlike the vibe and quality I’ve come to expect from this brand. Cleanliness was a major issue. We actually saw cockroaches in the hallways, which was both unsettling and unacceptable. The rooms were equally underwhelming—dated, poorly maintained, and just generally uncomfortable. It felt more like a neglected hostel than a boutique hotel. Service across the board was subpar. Most of the staff were unhelpful and, at times, outright rude. The bar staff in particular were dismissive and seemed annoyed to be doing their jobs. The morning coffee shop didn’t fare much better—unprofessional service, a lack of basic options, and none of the charm or quality you'd expect from a boutique hotel café. The only exceptions were one kind and professional woman at the front desk and the hardworking cleaning staff. Freehand needs to either elevate this location to meet the standard of their other properties or be more honest and transparent about what guests should actually expect. As it stands, this property does a disservice to the Freehand name. I won’t be returning.

I went on a solo trip and just wanted a place to sleep but I found more than that at Free Hand. Amazing staff, also the Broken Shaker staff YOU ARE THE BEST. Honestly amazing place. This will be my go to place. Very recommended. Value vs Money 10/10

There was a hole in the window, we slept at the street side so there was a lot of noise. I complained at the service desk and they gave me the email of the manager for a compensation. It has been 5 weeks and I've sent the email again but no response. This was a terrible stay and even more terrible client help!

The comfort in the private rooms could have been a little bit better. It was certainly more than okay but I expected a tad bit more.

This was my second time staying here, although the first time was over 10 years ago. I was excited to return, and I enjoyed our stay. We got one of the private rooms, which was very spacious, with a separate front sitting room. The bed was really comfy, great sheets, nice pillows. There were two air conditioning units and the shower water pressure was awesome, as were the shampoo and conditioner. Actual detangling! The pool is one of the top reasons to stay - a stunning shade of blue with a disco ball and tons of plants. It's surrounded by lounge chairs and the Broken Shaker remains a fun cocktail scene. We did pay $350 (including a ton of city/vat taxes) for our room each night, which feels like a lot, but apparently isn't when you look around South Beach. This place is definitely a hostel vibe, so you gotta go with that flow, despite being the price of an expensive hotel anywhere else. They do have earplugs at front desk. Might want them.

Check-in wasn't the best. They ask you to use a self-check-in machine. It was arduous to type so many things in that the hotel already had in my booking reservation. To be fair and transparent - I was offered the option to check in online and didn't do that, but I still would have needed a key and to use the little machine. The lobby was a bit chaotic with only one staff member at the desk when we arrived. Then the check-in machine broke, so we all had to line up. She was frustrated with all of us - for something that wasn't our fault. Then she read my credit card to someone over the phone, loudly, and for what reason I do not know. I also think the place could overall just use a refresh. It needs some fresh paint. Maybe the windows cleaned? All the interior spaces felt really dark instead of bright and happy. That being said, she did eventually get us in our room and was sweet after all that. Maybe just having a rough day. We all have them. The staff overall was wonderful. I think just a repaint and get some better, brighter lighting could do wonders. Would stay again if I needed to be on South Beach.

WIFI didn’t work for 2 days, very disappointing for someone who just arrived the country. Beds in the dorm don’t have a curtain to close. Music was too loud. Too expensive for a hostel.

It is on good location and friendly staff. It was fun to for so many things, karaoke, nice garden, pool, even hot pool and smoking area etc.

I thought the sheets were not clean especially the dark color blanketing I was not sure if it was washed and the pools were not clean

The woman manager the morning of the 12th wasn’t quite pleasant. I will not mention any names. Also before the week before Had some trouble with two girls staying in a room , A room for of four girls ONLY, then it became a room of six, my concern was why were their keys still working ?! I did bring it to the hotel‘s attention and they took care of it right away Thank you

Amazing location just a short walk to the main sites of South Beach. The room (king) was amazing and had everything I needed and more. Great value for the area!

A fab, quirky hostel with a beautiful garden / bar / pool area. Close to the beach and to some great restaurant / brunch spots as well as a grocery shop for cheaper eats. Everyone was so friendly, I made friends with all the girls in my room and chatted to lots of others at the bar. A wonderful experience, my first time at a hostel in many years and I wasn't sure what to expect but I'd happily stay there again!

It's a hostel so the shared rooms took a bit of getting used to, but actually it was great and made making friends really easy.

Close to beach 5 mins walk. Subway and Triton supermarket are just across the road. Swimming pool is nice. Wifi is rest. Clean hostel. Stayed in 4 person room but it was comfortable as people staying very decent.

Bathroom should have curtains so water will not not spill over on floor. Lockers should be with locker so one need not require to buy locks. Soap and shampoo for bath need to be provided. Bedsheet could be changed at least every 2 days(I stayed for 4 days)

The dorms have couches! Huge perk for long-term travelers. Dorm beds are excellent.

There is no kitchen guests can use. Only the 8 person or single rooms have fridges.
