Exquisite architecture & art, centrally located, lovely breakfast buffet, delicious smelling body products, kind staff

Very dim! I mean, I looked beautiful inside, but when I stepped into the daylight . . .

The staff was very courteous and helpful.

While the room was large it was very dark and the only window opened to the breakfast area giving us no privacy, However the hotel management changed us to an upgraded room which had more privacy but still quite dark. While the rest of the hotel's design and ambiance is spectacular the rooms unfortunately aren't equal.

The restaurant in the hotel is wonderful. The hotel feels historical and modern.

The staff made the stay really lovely. They were very attentive. Very responsive via WhatsApp. The rooftop is breathtaking. Loved the pool bar and being able to swim and see history around us. This brings me to next point, location is perfect to explore the historic centre. Walking distance to everywhere. Really loved how you walk into the building and the hotel is like a hidden oasis upstairs with the canopy of the huge trees from ground floor. The mural in the sitting area is so beautiful. My favourite place was probably the sitting/breakfast area with the greenary and famous mural at the stairs. The room was very spacious and the shower was perfect. I loved how spaced out the whole room was and enjoyed the tall ceiling. Absolutely loved how clean the space was. We checked out very early and the staff organised takeaway breakfast for us - absolutely loved that. Welcome drink was also greatly appreciated. It was margarita and that’s their specialty. The light features in the room were really cool. Oh and loved the boutique amenities and the presentation. The colours of the room were also amazing. Definitely worth staying but check the things I didn’t like below to make sure it suits your needs. Specially ensure AC is working in your room.

I think this property has great potential but struggles to meet that due to a number of issues. Very important: the AC was not working half way through our stay. We had a room with no windows so we couldn’t exactly open for fresh air. We felt like we slept in a hot box. Fan was working but it’s loud and due to the high ceiling it made the noise worse. When I told the staff they were willing to move us to another room but it was late and I didn’t want to do that. Rooms should not be having this issue specially ones without windows. I think for the price this really brought the experience down. Bathroom ventilation was terrible, we could smell the mould after each shower. If the doors had curtains or the room had high up windows then it would allow ventilation. Honestly curtains at the door would be a game changer. Also for safety I think the lift should have a key access so only hotel guests can access that floor otherwise feels a little unsafe. The bathroom is very open so it might not be ideal for friends or colleagues staying together or even for some couples. We were fine with it though.

The premium king room was amazing. Beautiful. The place has an incredible atmosphere, it used to be a palace. Breakfast are delicious.

Just, the pool was unfortunately closed, and there were no drawers in the room. The AC was making a loud sound.

We were not notified the pool would be closed in advance so were disappointed not to be able to avail of the amenity, which was a big favor in our selection. AC unit was old and a little loud. Some noise from a private party of the roof one night.

The location is amazing and the staff are just wonderful. The building itself is beautifully historic and the food and drinks we had at the hotel were exceptional. Gorgeous rooftop pool. Its an oasis of calm in the city centre.

Tiny things really. A coffee machine in the room would have been a plus, and if the hotel had provided a couple of bottles of bottled water. The bathroom situation is slightly strange, there are curtains instead of solid doors in each of the bedrooms.

I did not have a window and my room was very dark. The air conditioning was very noisy.

Location was absolute close on foot to various historic spot.

We were obliged to ask the change of the room due to excessive noise of pumps of pool at top. Further more hotel flat is at 2nd floor where as there is restaurant at the main entrance and bar at pool side . Toy have to be prepared excessive noise if you are planning to rest before midnight

the hotel is an amazing old palace style structure. Room was stunning and huge. breakfast was excellent. staff couldn't be more helpful. Be aware however that Downtown is a multi functioning venue so certain floors are open to the public such as the ground floor where there are 2 superb restaurants and a lovely bar, the second floor where there are a selection of luxury boutiques, and the top floor where there is a rooftop terrace and bar. third floor is where the hotel rooms are located. Could run the risk of being too busy/noisy for some.

my only slight complaint was the party held at the rooftop bar every Saturday night. Music didn't go on beyond 11.30pm and with my earplugs in and aircon on full blast I could barely hear the music, but without those it would have been troublesome.

Location. Breakfast was good. Having a restaurant on the premises was excellent.

The lighting was awful. There was no daylight at all. The wooden bed frame was awful if you had to get up at night. We had the sound of rushing water waking us up at 6.30 am which lasted over an hour. Dreadful.

This is a wonderful hotel - beautifully designed, fabulous, friendly staff, with excellent food and drink options within, great location + the rooftop pool.

The breakfast that was included was poor. It really wouldn’t take much to improve it - some better coffee, decent eggs and a bit of fruit. at the moment it’s barely worth eating which is a shame when everything else is so good.

the rooms were a bit dark, and the breakfast could cater slightly better for vegans. although they did adjust one dish to suit!

we booked this as a last night of holiday treat. I wanted something a bit special but not as generic and business feel as the Hilton. this hotel delivered. the decor and design of the property was beautiful. its incredibly Instagram photogenic and really well thought out. sitting in the heated jacuzzi at sunset was lovely and bougie. I love the multi stem trees separating the ground floor and first floor, the candles in the hallways at night and the general attention to detail. Lastly, I don't think the promo photos did the hotel justice.

I loved it. only small bits.... the staff were a little snooty until they realised you were a guest but I guess that's common for a hotel of that price. i don't have a lot of experience of that. I felt the restaurant downstairs wasn't really worth the money, the food wasn't amazing, the service was rushed and it was a bit packed in, freezing and drafty.

this was a generic hotel that served our purposes for one night The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. So nice not to have ask for bottled water - there was plenty available.

My only complaint would be about the lighting. rRoom lighting was very dim and there wasn’t enough light especially in the bathroom.

Fantastic hotel in great location

The people on front desk were charming but unresponsive. I had to keep asking if they could book me a car - I asked 5 times over 3 days before I got an answer.

I have learnt that I really need light, the lack of windows and dark breakfast area did something to my circadian rhythms that I think made it difficult to adjust with the jet lag.

stunning inside and out! the bed was comfortable, the snack options thoughtful, and the staff very courteous and helpful.

the lighting in the room is grand and also a bit off-putting. given the high ceilings and the brick and cement materials, there’s not much privacy sound wise when one uses the bathroom.

Loved the design mix of old and new - the architecture was beautiful! large rooms and our terrace had a fantastic view. rooftop bar & pool had a great vibe. Azul Historica restaurant in the courtyard was beautiful and very good.

room had a window overlooking ground floor restaurant. this was only external daylight. we were restricted from using breakfast facilities on one day due to a conference (breakfast supplied in sister hotel)

the hotel is beautiful and has a nice restaurant within it. it’s open air concept created a cool atmosphere

the only weird thing was that it was very dark. they also don’t have a lot of outlets (none in our bathroom or near any mirrors so it was hard for me to do my hair.

Great location in the center of Mexico city.

Great breakfast and the design of the hotel was amazing. We had the biggest suite so we had super tall ceilings and tons of space to relax between seeing sights.

Everyone mentioned the curtain for the toilet vs a real door. So that wasn’t a surprise but it’s not ideal. Also the traffic getting to and leaving the hotel is a pain

Amazing looking restored old building, the staff was very nice, the breakfast was delicious complimentary freshly squeezed orange/grapefruit juice, fruit, pastries and charcuterie and eggs made to order. Location is a 10, close to many restaurants, shopping, bars and taco stands.

Note that the bathroom in most rooms is open to the entire room, talk about open concept. So bathroom privacy when staying with someone else can be a bit tricky.

Perfect location for visiting central Mexico City. Quiet, comfortable room to escape from the hustle and bustle. Nice to have a pool at the end of a hot day in the city. Good breakfast.

Pool not open at all advertised hours and often too busy/loud. Although nice, room felt like style over substance - no natural light and hard to see what you were doing in both the room and communal areas. No drinking water provided. Slightly inattentive breakfast service.

Hotel location was in perfect walking distance from a lot of attractions near by

Roof top bar staff could be more friendly. My daughters and I wanted to enjoy the pool. Right away we were stopped by staff member at the bar, letting us know that there was a charge for the pool. I informed them we had a suite booked at the hotel. Not convinced of my answer, another staff member dressed in black came to ask for suite#. Staff members made us feel uncomfortable that we decided to leave the pool & change our plans of having dinner at the hotel. Very unpleasant experience.

Beautiful building and clever design features - eg they manage to squeeze a pool in and extra seating; the rooms are small but have clever storage solutions. Breakfast was good and location ideal.

A little more natural light; also a slight sewer smell some mornings - wish this could be resolved. They also seem to let non guests use the rooftop area which meant guests were often unable to get a pool bed or seat - slightly annoying when paying extra for a place with a pool.

Lovely boutique hotel in a stunning historic building. Great rooftop pool and bar. Very nice room with very comfy beds. Great for a holiday treat for a couple of nights.

Service at breakfast and at the rooftop bar was very slow. The first day we were not offered the full breakfast and just had to use the buffet (fruit, cakes, etc) which was disappointing considering the price.

Amazing room with high ceilings, great (moody) lighting and a cool bathroom. The pool and bar area was also great with a pool and bar to enjoy after a day sightseeing. Really helpful staff and a lovely breakfast to complete the experience.

I know this place since 2015 the group has opened several hotels around the country but the Downtown seems a bit washed out.

unfortunately there was a wedding at the property on one of the evenings which meant the pool and terrace were not accessible. would have been fine, but the hotel didn’t let us know which was quite disappointing!

The hotel is very cool, set in a beautiful building. The location is great, very central. The breakfast was really nice.

Given the price I had much higher hopes, especially because we upgraded to a suite room - but the room was a bit disappointing. It was impossibly hot in the night despite us using the aircon. The room is way too dark… I get that it’s meant to be atmospheric but it’s really impractical. I actually had to use a torch in order to look for things in my suitcase. And the bathroom, although it looks nice, I think is fairly cheaply done because a lot of things didn’t function as they should. The shower didn’t drain and flooded so much the water would flow into the bedroom every time. Also it would be nice to have complimentary water in the room
