The Olsen Hotel, Melbourne

We love our stays at The Olsen . Near our fave restaurants and the location has so many amazing places to visit and shop

We arrived early approx 11.20am to drop off our bags and the lovely man checked to see if there was a room ready we could go straight into, which there was. It was really helpful because it meant we didn't have to go through the check-in process after my works Christmas Party. He went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and comfortable. The heated pool was amazing and the hotel is very easy to get to, very good location.

Some of the paintings were super questionable in our room but I guess that is the beauty of art.

Ideal location for a city break. Quiet rooms, efficient staff and great bar & dining. Breakfast delicious, good hot coffee and great service, especially from the young woman who was working her first day in the restaurant.

We looked for general info in the room (breakfast facilities, internet access) to no avail. Just happened to turn the television on and discovered that's where all the hotel info is located. Whilst instructions on accessing power to the room are on the back of the digital room card, it was difficult to find this in the dark when we first arrived. It would be helpful if staff could mention the power slot on the wall when handing over the room card.

The place itself is lovely and the location is fantastic! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and remembered us from our previous trip months earlier. AND they have free lollies!

Couldn’t park our car there as they ssid it was full and had to park in a carpark which cost nearly $100 extra for one night

Location was great, with Chapel Street on your doorstep and the city. Staff where so accommodating and helpful, and the room was just like the photos.

Room was very compact and 'tight' with not a good space of room in the bathroom or wardrobe space.

Location - close to lots of delicious restaurants and Chapel Street shopping plus walking distance to the train station for day out at the Melbourne Cup Carnival

Location was great and it was comfortable and a quiet room. Drink voucher was offered in lieu of a room service to make it an “eco” stay. Lollies in the foyer was a bonus!

We booked this hotel as it had parking, but it could not be reserved and when we arrived - parking was full. Annoying.

Had a great 2 nights @ The Olsen. The staff were friendly & helpful, the room was comfortable & clean. The restaurant staff were professional. The hotel is in a great location next to many retail shops. restaurants, cafes & bars

Only downsides were that some of the toiletries in the room ran out & the pillows were too soft. Rooms next to lifts can be noisy as the sound penetrates through the walls

Spacious comfortable room with good bed, nice pillows and great water pressure. Easy onsite parking (extra cost) and very good location.

The location is fantastic and the staff were really nice. The size of the room was great.

Inside the room is really tired and worn out. The lamp shades were wonky and broken. The curtains were filthy, and the outside of the windows are covered in bird poo. It just wasn’t luxurious at all.

The rooms look a bit run down. We had to move rooms because the original room heater and bathroom fan didn't work. Also the sink was damaged. There's no business centre available

The Olsen is situated in a great location with easy access to local Cafe, Restaurant, boutiques in Chapel Street. Getting into Melbourne CBD is very easy with both the Tram and South Yarra Train Station within walking distance. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly making checking in very easy. Being able to drop off luggage before check in was perfect. The room was quiet, very clean and the bedding was comfortable. I would definitely recommend The Olsen and will stay here again.

The large space

I love how comfy and cosy the room was. I love how clean the rooms are and I have never had a problem staying here. Especially when you get the extra large balconies on the lowest level. Comfortable bed and linen to perfection. I also appreciate that they have kitchens with oven and stove tops and microwaves and fridge. Also free laundry is handy... Love this place.

Defiantly recommend upgrading from the queen to king room for couples.
