Hotel Maison Saint Louis, Marseille

Location is excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Rooms are small but perfect for what we wanted and location more than makes up for it.

Great location. Close to the port, to the metro, the "oriental night" street market. Clean room, great heating.

we were quite cold at night as the duvet wasn't warm enough ( I know it's winter but I guess if you are open in winter this needs factoring in )

The room view was nice. The bed was comfortable and the area was good.

We loved that it was close to the old port and the hotel restaurant was amazing. Felt cosy and quaint. Bedding was nice and the temperature in the room was perfect. Wonderful service from the staff.

We would have preferred a queen bed instead of two twins pushed together since it was our honeymoon. Also we originally booked the attic room with a view of the street but were moved to a different room facing the back of the hotel which was less scenic.

Great location. A bonus that the restaurant and bar were in the hotel too. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Bathroom walls could of been cleaner. Looked liked something had splashed on bottom of wall.

External noise

Very cute hotel, perfect location, very clean and comfortable. Everything works well, great shower! The balcony view is awesome!

We were two friends traveling, so we needed a room with 2 single beds, which were very small. One of us is a very light sleeper, so even though the windows block noise quite well, she woke up early with the street noise and the tram starting to operate.

Amazing location - lovely French balconies (we had 2!) overlooking square. Spacious room with sofa - nice space. Friendly, helpful staff. Decent sized ensure bathroom. Kettle in room tea and coffee (limited).

Onlyly paper cups provided for tea & coffee in room - disappointing- ended up borrowing china cups from restaurant nea rby (cousin's). Only 2 teabags per day provided (1 English Breakfast & 1 herbal) luckily brought our own! Only 3 pillows provided for a couple (were we supposed to fight over the 3rd?)

Excellent location.

Fantastic location in the middle of everything you could want. Pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops, markets right on the doorstep. Lovely room with a beautiful French view. Easy check in and great staff.

Great, friendly and helpful staff. Nice location, near the harbour and tram/bus/metro, also plenty of restaurants with nice food around the hotel. Clean and neat, well-lit, practical room. There was an electric kettle and free tea in the room. Comfortable beds. Cosy to sit at the table under the roof. We liked it here.

Little space in the lobby and the corridors. Steep small stairs lead to the attic where this room is located. Best to book this if you're traveling only with hand luggage or just a backpack. We had heavy suitcases and it was rather hard to drag them upstairs. There is an elevator up to 5th floor, but the attic rooms are on 6th. Also, the shower is almost under the rafters so tall people you'll wash your hair while kneeling :D One rafter is near the toilet so try to keep your head safe from bumping into it.

Nice staff and Reception open 24/7. Close to Vieux Port.

Staircase and hallways sometimes pitch black as motion lights were very slow to come on.

The hotel is in a beautiful french building style, very well located, staffs were great as well! We can go anywhere by foot.

I had one of the rooms in the attic and it was quite recently refurbished and thus very nice looking. It is important to note though that the ceiling is sloping in most of the room, you duck into bed and the bathtub. Since this was on six stairs up (they got chocked when I said I would walk all the stairs and not take the lift) you won't hear the street at all.

It could be a good idea to bring a small flashlight as the sensors for the automatic lights frequently didn't detect me until I'd taken a step or two onto the stair (not a problem but forget running up or down the stairs) - or take the lift at all times.

My room was spacious and I liked the little balcony to sit on.

Slightly noisy late at night on the square. Even though the bathroom was renovated my shower had a mind of its own I think The nozzle needs replacing. As I only stayed one night it was fine but had I of stayed longer I would have mentioned the shower thing directly as it could be easily fixed I’m sure.

The hotel is perfectly located, I had a very nice and clean room with a beautiful view. The staff was really friendly and there was a very good breakfast. I enjoyed my stay very much and will definetely come back.

When we arrived a staff member gave our room as per initial booking to other guests, but the lady at reception gave us two adjacent rooms in stead, which was very nice. The location of the hotel was very good for our purposes, within walking distance of the station and the places we want to be. Staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage the day of departure and fetch is later which was a positive bonus - thank you!

Breakfast was a bit expensive for what you received to eat, but nothing wrong with the quality of the food.

The location was superb and the staff were very friendly and kind! Hotel has air conditioning and an elevator, which is a huge plus!

The hotel didn't provide any soaps, shampoos, body washes or any toiletries. Make sure to bring all those misc. items with you.

As the only programs in English on the TV were News shows, it would have been nice to have a radio in the room for some music. Only 2 tea satchets for our whole stay.

The area of Marseille feels a little rough at night and tourists need to be at least alert to this.

Perfect location near the Vieux Port, close to shopping, restaurants etc. the rooms are a bit spartan, but they are spacious, clean and quiet.

The interior, especially the stairwell and hallways need an update. But, after all, you don’t sleep in the hall.

A great place to stay. Not far from the old port and right in the heart of things. Tram close by metro close. Easy walking to most things. Lots of local eateries and bars close . More touristy ones just a short walk away. Clean roomy under the eaves as I was.

The sensor light in the little hallway was annoying at nite.

Breakfast was limited but adequate. Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the square.

Staff in the bistro had no sense of urgency so be prepared to wait!

Staff was very supportive, extremely accomodating and very nice.

The location of the hotel was central, however very dangerous at night to get to, especially for 2 young girls. It was quite intimidating to walk around marseille.

The Staff were lovely. Very efficient air- con . Comfortable room with balcony overlooking an interesting street and square. Kettle and hospitality tray. Good towels. Great cafe/ bar on ground floor. In- person wake-up call at 2.30 am from Night Staff who also organised taxi.(Thank you!) Very close to Vieux Port. Tram stop right outside.

I would have liked a safe in the room. ( There's one at Reception )
