Hostel Equity Point, Marrakech

2nd time in Marrakesh and 2nd time staying here (sadly, not for my entire trip this time). Great and helpful staff, nice atmosphere in the hosteland the rooftop, affordable drinks on the terrace. We met amazing people here. Special thanks to Ali, who helped out with calling the taxi driver that only spoke Arabic.

Breakfast could be improved in my opinion. It was the only thing that prevented me from giving a 10. Everything else was excellent!

The place is relatively huge and there are very many common spaces for guests to enjoy. There is a restaurant onsite and the dishes are tasty and reasonably priced. It is just off one of the main market streets and down a dark but safe maze that keeps you walking in the one correct direction. There is a very tall white independent cat that walks the circuit throughout the day; from the fountain on the ground floor, to the rooftop several stories above.

I can't think of anything. It has to be one of the largest and brightest lit hostels in the city center

Nice spot, extremely comfy, super nice staff helping wherever they could, very clean. Everything super beautiful.

It was clean and spacious, with lounge rooms and decent restaurant (breakfast)

It was noisy and the location can be hard to find during the night, but it is close to main square

Roomy & Clean

They advertise that someone will meet you in the Medina to guide you to the Riad. No one was available. They shouldn’t guarantee this if it’s not going to be provided. It created quite a problem with our group. Since it’s complicated to find, why not have detailed directions to get there from various points?

Beautiful hotel. The location is great, really close to Jemaa el-Fnaa plaza (5-10min) and the principal attractions and restaurants are walking distance and also the markets. The people are very friendly. The room and bathroom were spacious and very clean.

Not a negative point, just a note because it sounds obvious now, but we didn’t realized it at the time as we were able to book a transfer without any note - it is in the center of Medina so of course there are no cars until the Hotel. The transfer will leave you / pick you up outside the Medina so you have to walk around 10min. So please make sure to have the map with the directions or you will get lost in the Medina streets.

Hard to find in all the small alleyways of the médina. Never would have found it without Google maps directing me. Definitely needs more signs in the other alleys to point people the right way.

Lockers where so close to my bed, not very nice when people are always accessing them while your trying to sleep. Room layouts should be changed. Also the entrance is in a confusing lane way that is a bit dodgy.

Nadia and her team were great. Always checking the guests are happy with everything and helping people book trips and taxi transfers. The food was great with a substantial breakfast for only €5. Everywhere was wet mopped and cleaned evey day.

Central. Right in the médina. Nice pool. Easy to chat to other travellers. Rooftop sun loungers and bar.

Difficult to find. Some more direction signs out in the médina would be good.

The architecture was amazing. The staffs are friendly. The dormitory was comfortable. The streets towards the riad were quite empty, might be a bit overwhelming for a solo traveller like me (especially when you arrive at night)

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Equity Point Hostel in Marrakech, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way.

The beds in the rooms could have been placed differently so that there was more room. You couldn't swing a cat in the room. I'd change the shower set up as the floor was always wet after a shower and when there is 6 in a room it not oke.0

The rooms were nice and had an aircon. The pool area in the middle was exactly as pictured , and it was very relaxing to swim in. Staff were nice and easy to chat with. The location was good and not too difficult to find.

There wasn't really a communial space inside for people to hang out together. There was space outside by the pool area instead.

very friendly in this hotel, it is in a beautiful place with terraces with views, swimming pool, clean rooms with bathroom and air conditioning, they help me to find my bag i forgot in the hotel, I recommend it

The deposit for the key was 5 Euros, on check out they gave us the deposit back in dirhams which I thought was strange as they specifically asked for the deposit in Euros. I expected to get my Euros back not have exchanged it

Comfortable beds, super friendly stuff, a lot of cozy spots to chill, always neat and tidy, rules are well maintained. You'll definitely want to come back and try more things

It's always dark in the room even in the morning with windows open. Beds could be arranged differently to create more space in the center of the room. it's a hustle to have to wait for someone to open the main door manually I think switching to a pssword door lock is necessary.

This hostel doesn't feel like a hostel but rather a resort. The staff were always incredibly friendly and just pleasant to chat with. The room came with lockers in the wall and was quite comfortable - it had air conditioning and had cleaning service each day. The pool was an added bonus being able to cool off at the end of the day. Plenty of comfortable chairs and seats around the place to chat with other guests. The hostel also had a really comfortable roof terrace to be able to relax and a quite affordable restaurant to eat at as well.

The wifi was quite unreliable at times where it lost connection or was just really slow

The staff are very welcoming and nice. Special thanks to Fatima for taking the time to help me find good spots to visit in the city. The terrace is beautiful and the pool really makes a difference when the weather is too hot.

Rooms lack privacy, there aren’t any curtains for the beds.

Would be great if there were power points for each bed (seemed like only the people on the bottom bunk had them) also in the chill out areas most power points were blocked so you couldn’t use them

the breakfast wasn’t our favorite, not a lot of choice, but that’s it.

It is a central located accommodation with swimming pool and comfy beds, they have lockers with key and you must leave a deposit which you get back at the end of your trip when you return it, for the rest staff is very kind and they have breakfast for a very good price and it is very fresh and well served, fully recommend it !

Only thing I can think bed curtains are missing for more privacy but specially to avoid the light at night, for the rest all great

Great swimming pool, in the heart of the medina. Friendly staff, good value for money and warm showers. Silent and good breakfast. Lovely support and explanation of places to visit by the owner.

No curtains for the beds. Lots of people coming in late at night / early morning.

Really good location, hostel gave really helpful advice of downloading maps.me before travelling. Lovely swimming pool and communal areas. Amazing rooftop that you can see everywhere. Room is clean and spacious.

The only downside is the room we stayed was right under rooftop hence when people eat breakfast in the morning upstairs, the steel chairs make a lot of noise and woke us up.

Even when staying in one of the dorms, you can use all the hotel's amenities. The whole place is just beyond beautiful and everything is clean, comfortable and well taken care of. I enjoyed my stay very much and extended for another day.

Check-out time (10 am) is comparatively early for Marrakech and the pool area only opens at 9 am. Make sure to book at least two nights to make the most of it ;)

Location is awesome and the facilities are great! I spent a whole day at the terrace and swimming pool and it was just so relaxing!

They fit a lot of people in the dorms so there is really no place to put your things around or move comfortably.

I like three principles of the pace, ie, thag anyone can afford to stay,jn what is really a luxury hotel. You can stay in dormitory a accommodation, or top end.

The hostel is very well located in the middle of the old town, walking distance to most places. The cleaning lady was very nice and sweet. The swimming pool area and the rooftop are very pleasant.

Felt a little bit unsafe at night on the way to the hostel. Specially for two women. The check out is super early 10am. The breakfast wasnt included.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Nothing to complain about. In the middle of the Medina, so you have some narrow street to get there. I really find it unique, and safe

With a pool, large rooftop terrace and restaurant, you never have to leave the hostel if you dont want to put up with the hustle of the medina. Great place to explore all the corners and meet people!

The staff was - although always friendly - often times unable/unwilling to help me beyond general requests like ordering an airport transfer or a tour. There also seems to be a constant shortage of small change. Some issues might relate to the culture. If he is around, ask the owner Xavi for help, not the staff.

Was very hard to find. I asked for help with directions the day prior and was told to use maps.me, which sent me doing loops and loops until I gave in to let one of the many locals who were yelling asking if I’m looking for equity point help me. they then of course asked for money. It would be nice to have photos of directions sent before the stay, or at least clear signage, because clearly it’s a common theme. Same thing happened with my bunk roommate. I’m glad I arrived during the day because as a solo female traveller, I would have been scared walking down the dark alleys with a stranger

The location was good, in the centre of the medina. The hostel also has a pool and a rooftop terrace/bar/restaurant (though I didn’t eat there). It also has its own hammam.

Beds in the dorm room did not have plugs/light. Luckily the room was half empty (and empty when I arrived) so I could pick one of the only beds with a plug. If the dorm was full it would have been very cramped - too many bunk beds crammed next to each other. Maybe it was low season (early March), but the place was very empty despite being very big, so there was no atmosphere Expensive for what it is.

Stunning riad in a fantastic location in the middle of the medina. Very quiet and tucked away from the busy streets.

My private room was nice but I don’t think it was worth £100 a night. You can hear everything happening outside the rooms which is fine - it’s a hostel! - but worth bringing earplugs.

Lovely staff, beautiful facilities, clean and we enjoyed the restaurant 😊 Amazing price & we had a massage which was brilliant. Nicest hostel I’ve stayed in, thank you!

very nice and spacious building, I loved being on the rooftop and the location is very good as well, stuff was helpful, lockers for each bed were nice

the vibe was more like a youth hostel with big groups of very young people and as a solo traveler it was hard to make connections as there is no main hang out space, also the beds were not comfortable, offering no privacy or space to put your stuff or load your phone, no kitchen to cook for yourself

The pool area, as well as the terrace are very nice! The female staff at the rooftop restautant were super friendly!

The 8-bed dorm ist quite small (compared to 4/6-bed); same size as them. The fuzzy blankets weren't very clean. They weren't and propably can't be washed.
