The Line Hotel, Los Angeles

Expert reviews

New York Times review:

“The Line Hotel retains some of the stripped-concrete walls and industrial-chic aesthetic. This new hotel is shaping up to be the “it” location for night owls and adventurous omnivores. Its biggest accomplishment is introducing visitors to the gems of little-known Koreatown.”

The Guardian review:

“The Line has a modern industrial feel straight out of slow lifestyle magazine Kinfolk, mixed with Korean simplicity and bright colours. There are plenty of nightspots within a mile’s radius.”

Fashionable LA hotel in the heart of Koreatown did not dissapoint!

Love the location in the heart of Koreatown - I was attending a conference downtown and it was a much more fun (and safe) neighborhood to hang out in during the evening.

Room was a bit smaller than I would like.

Very good

Decent vegan options for breakfast and from cafe. Amazing view from room.

Bathroom didn't seem to be ventilated, so steamed up quickly. Parking was quite expensive.

Contemporary hotel experience has tremendous potential but needs to tweet its facility.

Rooms vary. Some are very nice others average. Loved the dining area on the second floor. The staff were super accomodating

The coffee place on the ground floor has bad coffee and other items. They should redesign that part of the hotel. They need real Barristas with a good authentic expresso machine.

Outside furniture need a good cleaning and the fabric has burn marks from cigarette burns.

nice place to stay for not a bad price, not if your staying any longer than 10 days i’d say.

location was very good, metro right across the street and plenty of stores / cafes / restaurants that were open late. also the cleaners are super sweet and do a good job.

room was a little small for the price i payed. and not sure if this is just a british thing but there was no kettle or microwave in the room so we couldn’t heat up snacks iso f we did it feel like going out to eat.

Very good

The view from our room. The quality of the mattress and the pillows. The decoration and the design.

The price we got was overpriced. The carpet showed aged and the interior elevator design was depressing.

Good location, relatively clean, noisy and not very informational

The location is great, close to Ktown, which means good food and entertainment. The room is relatively spacious and clean, I love the decoration and how the beds are oriented.

First of all, the bathtub in the room is pretty winded down, the top coat is flaking badly we had to put a towel in the tab to shower without hurting ourselves. Second, the night noise is inevitable, I understand downtown can be like that but didn't expect the windows not to be very soundproof. However, it was bearable for me so it didn't hurt. But I am disappointed that my room is just facing a building, I saw all the reviews and photos on booking claiming it's an LA mountain street view and we didn't get any. Lastly, we were told breakfast starts at 7:00 AM when checking in, so we planned to eat in before our noon flight, which would've been a great plan but only to discover brunch starts at 11:00 when we went to the restaurant (even though the sign on the window says breakfast at 10:00, which we arrived at 9:30, we were told by the staff it starts at 11:00). Other than these the stay was pretty pleasant.

Fine

The view. The shower is nice and strong. A pleasure. The bed is super comfortable. It is near to the subway station (yes there is a subway in Los Angeles . It is clean and it works) 4 stops to the Broad and the cultural center. The proximity of good Korean food is nice as well

No coffee machine in the room. Yes there is a cafe that opens at 6.30 am but it is not the same. The facilities are fine but could use a bit of a refresher The music in the lobby is pretty loud but then it may be geared for younger people. So it may be looked at a plus by other.

A fun and unique hotel experience for a one-night stay in Koreatown

I like the location of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff, the checkout time, the unique warehouse aesthetic, and the size and comfort of the king bed.

I didn’t like the price of the hotel for a one night stay, the $75 early check in fee (especially since there were rooms available), and the cheap shower curtain that was far too easy to get wet which made a mess on the bathroom floor.

It was okay, I would stay again!

Great location Lively atmosphere: While it might get a bit loud, I enjoyed the nightclub vibe in the lounge area. Friendly staff

Unexpected Fees: I was surprised by a $75 charge for early arrival, and by an additional $300 hold on my credit card. It would be helpful to have this information upfront. Maintenance Needed: The hallway carpet needs a thorough cleaning. Poor Bathroom Lighting: The bathroom lighting is extremely dim, making it difficult to get ready to hit the streets. I did most of my shaving near the window. This feels out of place with the hotel's modern, industrial aesthetic. MISC: A few things were broken: my lamp was broken, the table wasn't sparkling clean and the carpet was just okay. No dedicated frig or microwave in the room. I hope this honest review helped.

Nice but slightly disappointing

The greenhouse where breakfast is served and the pool are very nice and charming.

A little bit overated, noisy in the bedrooms, the beds are small and not very confy and we were disappointed by the view. We paid for a bedroom with the view on the hills but were given a 6th floor room which gives you mostly an overview of the buildings opposite.
