HI Hostel Santa Monica, Los Angeles

The hostel built for that purpose particular, every dorm has its own bathroom inside, big kitchen, coffee and I like the events provided and very convenient.

From the moment I arrived, to the time I checked out, the staff was more than exceptional. They were kind, patient, understanding - quick to assist. Would answer any/all questions and I am seriously impressed. I generally stay at hostels when I travel, as you meet some fun and exciting travelers from all over! This hostel, I would have to say it is one of the best ones that I have stayed at. They offer drinks and other supplies for sale, the rooms are incredibly clean and cozy. The beds are comfy! The bedding is fresh, and if you need more - no problem! You are provided a locker, and you can purchase a key to keep your belongings secure. There is a filtered water machine in the hallway, in California - WELL needed! Tv room, pool area, a decent place. The location = great! Target is close by, the beach and the Santa Monica Pier. Priceless! Also close via Uber, driving for other things in California that you would like to visit. I would highly recommend this hostel.

Best service ever! We forgot a bag outside when we where in a hurry to the airport. I booked an Lyft ride and the staff were so kind and helped us to leave the bag to the driver.

Extremely clean facilities (shared bathrooms, kitchen, fresh bath mats!!!), fun common areas (fire place! Pool table! Inner courtyard!), very friendly and welcoming front desk staff, spacious dorm rooms, fabulous location just steps from the beach, across from a coffee shop and near a Trader Joe’s. Perfect!

Amazing location. The hostel has a big kitchen where guests can cook and store their food, plus a laundry room which was very convenient. There’s also a small storage room with beach items like umbrellas that guests can borrow. The staff were super nice, they organized lots of events, and there’s a really pleasant outdoor space to relax and hang out.

The girls’ bathroom on my floor was not always very clean, and the bunk beds don’t have curtains, which makes it harder to have some privacy.

This hostel is the best one in the area. Close to the beach. It's clean, the hostel organized some activites and the staff is really nice. A special shout-out to one of the security guards who was truly outstanding. I lost my passport at the hostel on the day I was leaving, and he was incredibly helpful. He went out of his way to help me find it and succeeded. He remained very patient and calm, and was just as thrilled as I was when we found it. He was truly wonderful. I stay here every time I visit, and I fully intend to keep doing so on my future trips !!

Location was great , near to E line to transfer to downtown LA and bus routes. Easy to get to airport. Near Santa Monica Pier with plenty to do by the beach.

This was my seventh time staying here. Beds are comfortable, huge locker, plenty of space in the dorm. Social areas are huge and comfortable, loved the outside area particularly. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. You get towels at no extra charge.

The comedy show was not funny at all. I tried going a few years ago as well and I just don’t think think the material is reviewed beforehand. Plus a lot of them had the same kind of material. It’s so sad as well that the hostel stopped providing breakfast. It’s more because it was always a time for me to meet new people and make new friends, but this time the area was almost empty in the morning.

I loved its cleanliness! Also receptionists was at the counter all the time so I felt safe.

Everything was perfect. This hostel is very clean, bed was very comfortable (with two pillows, very unusual for the hostels), staff were friendly. The location was amazing, very close to Santa Monica Pier and beach, also easily accessible from the airport both with the car and public transport. I would stay here again.

The facility was clean, very close to the pier, the staff were helpful. Security parking was available directly across the street in a parking complex. As a female traveling alone, I felt safe. There was a restaurant next door that served upscale food. It was a little pricey for me but well worth it.

I was able to get some rest and not travel too far to attend my business venture. Id Like everyone on staff to get a raise. If I had the power , I'd see to it that everyone working there was compensated more. It's so important that they know how much their hard work is appreciated .

The short amount of time my schedule and restriction allows for my stay. 😌 However ...Duty calls, and I must explore and discover new adventures....

Location - definitely the biggest selling point of the hostel, a few walking distance to the beach side, easy to do a morning run from it. Safety - Santa monica is a safe place compared with other parts of LA. You can easily go around evening at night. Transportation - from LAX, take the blue bus and it can lead you directly to the hostel Room - bed is comfortable

Lift - it alwasy takes forever to get the lift Room door - makes much noise when you try to open or close it.

Close to restaurants and beach. Bathroom was clean. They allow you to store bags for free until your room is ready for check in. Felt safe.

Private rooms are very small. Hard to fit luggage in room after cruise and be able to walk around in room.

Clean, organized, friendly and professional staff

Some of the guests are dishonest locals. I have had some odd experiences with stalkers and people with apparent mental disabilities , some are very intrusive and inhospitable. It is very uncomfortable to deal with people who stalk, and eat the food of others.

The location is excellent. It is right between the Promenade and the beach. Everything is within walking distance. It is also very clean and has great common areas to access. The staff was also very helpful and polite.

It would be nice if they still have a breakfast option offered.

The bed was very comfortable and I slept like a baby? Only the steel construction was a little bit out of date . Querquie!

The company should investigated the dishwasher purchase and a less and better quality cutlery ! They didn’t selected any rubbish !

I really enjoy the whole process. From the welcoming to the checking out. I have stayed before, this time I got the upgraded room, and it was superb. The wood design and extra bunk space really suited my needs, nice and neetly.

That was not a single thing I could find.

I got the room as soon as I recharged and it was around 10 AM and checking time was 3 PM. Very polite and nice behavior of front desk staff. Location is very good. Walkable distance from Santa Monica downtown metro and Pier.

Bed was bit noisy and uncomfortable to go up and came down.

I liked that reception is so attentive to guests needs. Guys are great at hospitality. And security level of place is nice. Real pros: Pool’s billiard in lobby and spacious kitchen. Very good place!

Please, put in the booking list only rooms that will not need repair during the stay.

They got rid of breakfast

One of the best hostels we’ve stayed in. Private ensuite was perfect for our family of four. Amazing location with Santa Monica pier so close and third avenue with shops and eateries. Staff were so helpful, allowing us to shower and store bags before check in. Great accomodation.

The place is fine, large kitchen as a common area, central location, friendly service, clean.

The kitchen is fully functional and recently renovated and clean. It really stood out. I loved the pool table in the lounge area too. I also liked that my plane got delayed by one day and they let me readjust my check in day. Thank you!!
