Lots of homeless people and junkies on the streets around the property. Not the fault of the hostel but expect this when you’re walking around, especially after dark. But I assume this is everywhere in the US.

One of the few hostels that has USB charging as I forgot to bring my connector (Very critical during my stay). Shower, WiFi and Breakfast were perfect. Location wise was very strategic to the beach, Metro and busses towards Santa Monica & Hollywood Hills area. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Felt definitely safe walking in the night

Wonderful location, Super clean areas, it was pretty comfortable… It's really sad that the hostel doesn't allow long-term stays.

The location is perfect and there is a public parking just in front of the hostel. Everything was extremely clean and the staff was really nice.

I did not like that on the day of the check out, you have to pay extra money to leave the luggage there even for few hours. it was clear, so no surprise, but this is a service that is usually provided for free

The location was great and had amazing common spaces, especially the real fireplace in the sitting area and the pool table in the cafeteria. The breakfast was also great with an amazing commercial-grade kitchen that was open 24-7 for guest use.

The only thing was the price, which was a little high for a hostel. But again location-location-location and in the end it was worth it compared to other options.

My husband and I just love it!!!. Very comfortable, and clean. We love that is ecofriendly!.Great location!!.

I absolutely loved the location! The pier is at a walkable distance. The room was spacious enough and there were sockets next to the bed. I really liked the fact that this hostel is inclusive. The bathroom was clean. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus. There are also enough areas to work/chill. They have water fountains to refill your bottle and affordable luggage storage options.

One of the guys working reception was very rude. Luckily everyone else was friendly and accomodating.

Greet budget option to be close to Santa Monica pier and the beach. Very safe area also. Highly recommend the private room.

The location is great. Near to the beach of Santa Monica and near to the promenade. Hostel was very clean and staff very friendly. Pretty good breakfast with Bagels, Oats and Juice.

The location is perfect. 5 minute walk to the pier. The beds were comfy, staff was friendly, bathrooms were very clean.

Breakfast was a little lacking, just toast and some fruit. Not continental but not too bad.

The breakfast offered in the morning is really great & the facilities are really clean. Location was also one of the best.

People seemed to go to bed extremely early, which made it awkward when entering the room anytime after midnight.

I have extreme PTSD I’m not comfortable anywhere. I go especially around people, but the staff was so great so friendly so helpful and it made me feel as comfortable as I could possibly feel. I wish I would’ve got their names that I didn’t meet or come across one that didn’t exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much you guys.

Had a wonderful stay. Location is perfect: one block away from the beach, bus and metro stops a short walk away, streets clean and safe. Hostel is well-organized and quiet with clear rules. Bed is comfortable, shared toilet and shower is clean and shared kitchen is well-equipped. Comes with decent breakfast. Good deal in a prime location.

Room (4 prs dorm) was on the small side, but not overly so, especially considering the common spaces available. Distances to more inland LA can be problematic, but that's hardly the fault of the hostel. If you like coastal LA, then the location is pretty near perfect.

Breakfast was excellent. The location was convenient to get around LA.

HI Santa Monica went above my expectations. It's basically a hotel with shared rooms. There are lots of amenities such as a pool table, library, TV room, free breakfast, fireplace. And the hostel organize activities everyday to help ppl mingle! We even had a Thanksgiving dinner! The place is very clean and well kept. I liked that there's the no noise policy from 12 to 7 am.

The temperature in the room is hard to adjust, but the staff is super friendly and accommodating to make it work. I would recommend this hostel to everyone and I'll definitely come back!

Definitely one of the best hostels. Great security at the entrance, friendly staff, and lots of activities provided by the hostel. The location is amazing, just a 2 minute walk from the beach and a shopping boulevard. The free breakfast is also a big bonus.

This is an amazing hostel, near the beach and the Santa Monica pier. It's also a great location if you intend to use public transport, as it's close to the metro line and other connections. The hostel is clean overall, and the shared bathrooms are cleaned frequently. The staff was helpful and warm, and I felt welcome.

Mainly great location , we just spend a night but enjoyed with my friend hot shower and big room and we think we will come back next time to enjoy more days.

Great location, easy metro access and a block away from the ocean and Santa Monica pier. Free breakfast. Key card access so felt very secure. Bathroom facilities were clean and plentiful.

Cleaning hours for the bathroom can be awkward in the morning.

I spend just one night there, but I liked a lot. Very clean, the staff very nice in special Emily as party planner, that talk with us and had a good conversation
