The Hoxton Hotel, London

Decor is wonderful, both in the room and the lobby. Shower was very hot with great pressure & the bed very comfortable. Brilliant full size mirror.

Reception staff unfortunately are rude, at times we felt they were surprised we were speaking to them. When we'd booked late check out but couldn't get into the room and went to reception to gain access, the staff didn't even look at us, let alone apologise for the inconvenience. No smart TV in the room or ability to screen cast. I would expect for a hotel chain of this status to offer smart TVs with the ability to screen mirror and use streaming apps.

The Lama Inn had a great menu, the staff were excellent and the food was great. It was the same experience in Bambini for breakfast.

The room was exceptionally noisy. We could hear everything from the room next door and they played music into the early hours. That couple with the fact that the pillows were so soft and there were no others available that were harder to potentially swap for, meant that the quality of sleep we had during our stay was very poor

Modern, comfortable room. Good location if you want to be amongst the ‘vibe’ of Shoreditch.

Hotel lobby is very busy with people squatting on laptops/ doing zoom calls and generally using it as a ‘shared workspace’. By Friday/ Saturday evening it’s just too much of a zoo. Sound proofing between rooms is not good enough - can hear people moving around/ TVs. Too much ambient noise.

I didn’t have breakfast

The service in the restaurant on Saturday lunchtime was slow. Our drinks were prepared and left on the bar for ages so we collected ourselves. I couldn’t charge lunch to my room as machine not compatible with reception.

The location was excellent - both the area itself and the public transport links. The bathrooms were lovely. Bed excellent but pillows didn’t suit me.

A couple of decisions about service were rather strange. I was there at a wedding and the management insisted that we had to have breakfast in a side room rather than the main restaurant (which was almost empty).

Friendly staff who all went that extra mile to help. Room very comfortable with fridge and tea making facility. Amazing food and lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

As you walk through the door feels so homely. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was so clean and comfortable. Love the little things like being able to order food from local bagel shops.

My stay at The Hoxton Shoreditch was overall a really great experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the hotel itself was clean and well maintained. I had an amazing time there and even made a lot of new friends during my stay, which really added to the experience. Overall, despite a few minor issues, it was definitely a nice stay, and I truly appreciated the atmosphere, staff, and social vibe of the hotel.

I do understand that cleaning crew coverage may have been limited at times, but when our room was cleaned, our shot glasses unfortunately went missing. It seems like they may have been accidentally removed during cleaning, and despite asking, they were never found. That was pretty frustrating, and I would really appreciate it if someone could help look into this or offer a solution. Another small downside was that the hallways were being repainted in the morning, which caused a strong smell throughout the area. Unfortunately, it gave me a headache, and it would have been nice to have some notice or to schedule that work later in the day. As for pricing, I think it was fair for London, though I do wish the room had been a bit larger for the price paid. I know space is limited in the city, but that would have made the stay even better.

Bathroom smelled all the time, cleaning is on request which seems strange given the price point, if it was a cheaper more budget hotel, i would understand. Also one lift was broken the whole time so the entire hotel had to use a single lift which creared significant delays. And the room lacked ventilation and was overly heated

Rooftop bar was closed to guests for a private function which wasn’t communicated prior to arrival or on arrival and struggled to find seating in the bar area.

A very comfortable room with a good bed, nice pillows and lovely bathroom. Appreciated little touches like the fresh milk in the fridge for tea and coffee. It was also surprisingly quiet given the location.

It would have been nice to have had the room serviced after our first night but reception did send up clean towels, replacement tea and milk when requested. The hotel is fairly close to bus stops/Bow tube and there are a few nice cafes around but the road itself is quite busy/not very appealing.

Great value cosy room. Very quiet and comfy. Fun bar in the evening.

It was easy to find, check in was quick and a nice looking hotel once inside.

Wasn’t keen on Shoreditch! The rooms were tiny despite paying for an upgrade, also hot and our road facing room was noisy. Our shower cubicle also had a very unpleasant odour.
