Hotel The Rookery, London

Beautiful room, lovely helpful staff. Very cosy and great location. Will definitely be booking on our next trip to London!

Rooms are a little dark, AC wasn’t very strong. But this was fine as we were visiting in Autumn.

Every detail of this hotel was exceptional. Also, I really enjoy great breakfast at my room.

The warmth of the staff, palpable history of the place, Bagheera, how well they’ve taken care of everything is.

Old English charm, super close to Farrington subway station, safe and walkable and quiet area, very friendly and helpful staff at all hours of the day, honest bar was unique and enjoyable.

Toilet flushed was on a long hanging chain, no rhyme or reason on how to get it to flush and often took several minutes to get it working, staff did not warn us it was an issue but when I brought it up later offered to move us to a new room. There is a bath but no shower. Full sized beds are really small especially if you are not used to it. Sink space is very small, no room to put any toiletries.

Beautiful old building, preserved well. Wonderful part of old London and lovely antique furniture.

Would love a full dinner to be offered there.

The TV didn’t work, but that didn’t matter

Welcoming, friendly staff, and genuinely comfortable social spaces. It is surprisingly quiet for such a great location.

I had been warned they have scaffolding up but it did make the room rather dark, and not very private. That is temporary though, and everything else was pretty much perfect.

All rooms as well as the whole house are furnished with beautiful antiques. That’s what I really loved about this hotel: its quaint antique touch! The bedding was excellent and the staff were very kind. Breakfast was also delicious and, to crown it all, they have a very nice cat!

All rooms ought to be equipped with a safe deposit box.

The history , decor and atmosphere-

I felt the spirit of old England. A perfectly located hotel close to the train, metro and bus station. Close to restaurants, bars and shops, but also a very quiet place to relax. The staff was amazing and very helpful. I would love to come again.

Amazing staff super clean and very relaxing

Everything. The history, the comfort, the service, and the overall feel of the hotel. I particularly enjoyed breakfast being delivered to the room each morning (small note here, the breakfast wasn't included in the cost of the room but was very reasonably priced). The shared guest areas were very well presented and comfortable. Other guests must have thought so too. There was always someone about enjoying breakfast, afternoon tea, or just an evening drink. Finally, the hotel cat was a lovely surprise. She was very friendly and gave the hotel a real homely feel.

I liked everything.

The staff was phenomenal! We loved them all, especially Aaron! We really enjoyed the common areas. My husband had somewhere to go and hang out until I woke up. We also love the resident kitty. Scratches for Begera from us please!

The handles on the sinks made it hard not to get burned or frozen, but I suppose such is the charm of an antique style hotel.

I loved the ambience of The Rookery .... it was like stepping into a Jane Austin novel ! The staff were extremely professional and helpful and the facilities were fantastic. Thank you 😊

The room was slightly too dark.

The four poster bed, the breakfast, the little anteroom, the comfortable bathtub, and the friendly staff

The toilet cistern leaked slightly, which caused a discrete noise until we closed it by hand

Cosy with period features and excellent welcome

Only minor gripe was no tea / coffee in room

We were upgraded, without asking. The room is larger and the bed very comfortable.

There is no kettle / coffee maker. However, I subsequently requested and were brought my coffee, to my pleasant surprise. My other family members didn't know about it :-(

Check in was smooth, even if there was a bit of a frosty vibe initially. Liked the location and the whole feeling of The Rookery. Honesty bar was a nice touch. Styling and decor were lovely.

Somebody stomping around endlessly above my room in the early hours of the morning. No idea if it was staff or other guests. As mentioned above, a little bit more work on the welcoming. Even if you're not directly responsible for checking guests in, perhaps a brief acknowledgement that there's a guest standing in front of you would be good.

This hotel is second to none. It’s impeccably decorated throughout, even the hallways. There’s a lot of cute common areas you can lounge in if you want, including a bar. I stayed here once before, and after this second stay I can say without a doubt that this is my favorite hotel!

Quite expensive

The hotel is beautiful with outstanding customer service. The food we had was delicious. Furnishings were quite comfortable.

The late night noise on the street is very intrusive. We didn't sleep well because of the persistent racket that lasted through the night. The hotel would benefit from installing window systems that are better insulated for noise.

Gorgeous, characterful Georgian ambience and decor. Warm and inviting . Lovely relaxing area / drawing room and library to have a drink from the honesty bar.

Would have been great if they could have served breakfast in the conservatory , and put tea/ kettle in rooms

Loved everything. Time slows down here. You grab a book and cosy up in the library or conservatory. The decor is stunning. Immediately felt at home. One of the top 5 hotels I’ve ever stayed at. They had better coffee than the nearby cafe too.

I travel to this area often and The Rookery offers way more space for the same-price range hotels in the area.

Everything went fantastic

Rooms and building was very nice. Like stepping back in time with all the traditional details. Great rooms for dining and social gatherings. The team on reception were excellent and gave us a tour of the property.

This hotel is unique - built in 1764 and retaining many of its original features. Its like stepping back in time but with modern up to date facilities. Beautiful four-poster bed. Library and snug areas to relax and have a drink

The hotel was superb, the room was fantastic, loved the honesty bar, it was quiet but in a well served area with bars and restaurants. Big shout out to the resident cat 😁

Very charismatic building. Tastefully and skilfully refurbished with many original historic features kept in order. Excellent breakfast. Very good bath tube! Very helpful and professional reception staff. Good location. Charming cat! We would definitely be pleased to stay there again.

Issues in the bathroom: 1) One of the taps on the bath was leaking. 2) Toilet seat was not held in place properly. 3) no door lock in the bathroom/toilet Issues in the room: TV with no working TV channels whatsoever (broken apparently) - luckily streaming from the phone worked, no door lock or bolt/security chain on the entrance door The cleaner knocked on the door in the morning long before checkout time despite the "do not disturb" sign displayed.

There should have been complimentary tea and coffee in the room.

I have stayed previously in Batty Langleys and wanted something nearby Hatton Garden, so chose the Rookery. The Rookery did not disappoint, the location, accommodation, staff and customer service were second to none. I will certainly be back

We absolutely adored the hotel, the decor, the history that is respected and celebrated, the room was beautiful and the staff were amazing and so enthusiastic about the hotel. The honesty bar is also a great touch and not something we have come across before.

No coffee making facilities in the room.

We have stayed several times before it is our favourite hotel in London it’s so beautiful so welcoming the staff are all so friendly and helpful the rooms so comfortable and the breakfast perfect we love Bagheera the cat it’s a little gem in London

All was great - room, location, price.

The front desk manager on April 27, 28 was scattered and a bit dismissive to my adult daughter and me. I've stayed at the Rookery many, many night over the last 5 years and always enjoyed the staff. So I wanted to let you know there is something that needs checking.
