The hotel is beautiful and the room was lovely, spacious and comfy. The Rookery is so well located for easy transport links and its in a great part of London to explore on foot. The staff were very helpful and made us feel at home.

Exceptional stay, beautiful hotel, warm staff and perfect location for my plans.

Lovely and friendly staff upon check in. Very helpful too and showed me around all of the facilities. Original room was lovely and cosy. However there was an issue with the loo so i was upgraded to a different room, which was just exceptional. And a free breakfast for inconvenience! Amazing hospitality.

Nothing I could fault really. Maybe a small kettle in the original room would have been nice for tea-loving drinkers.

Lovely

Very convenient for The Barbican. Feels like you’re staying in a 19th century hotel with better facilities! Delicious breakfast.

No lift- not an issue for us but might have been if more luggage. The room, Jack Shepherd, didn’t have a shower only a bath. Bed very comfortable but high!

Very good

I don’t like the bathroom format. I prefer the shower. Also, there should be a universal adapter for the outlet of electricity provided.

Beautiful property in an excellent location. Easily accessible from Heathrow. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Breakfast was served to the room but it might have been nice to have the option of a dining room.

Beautiful, historic, and charming place which is well maintained with wonderful food and service.

I love the old charm with the modern amenities. It’s just beautiful and I felt like I was a guest in another era. The bed was just amazing.. I slept like a kitten,. The food is amazing and the presentation stunning. Location is perfect for my needs. Staff are friendly and helpful.

You have to plan accordingly if you would like a dinner ( as it can take up to 1 1/2 hours, but worth the wait. I love the fact that they have 2 small bars which are based on the customer filling out their bar book as to what they imbibed. A rare occurrence in today’s world. It may be difficult for someone with mobility issues to climb the stairs to their room.

Beautifully furnished and maintained boutique hotel.

Beautiful period decor, immaculately maintained with an attentive and friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious and elegantly served for us on a tray in the conservatory.

If you have mobility issues be sure to request a first floor room as there is no elevator.

Victorian paradis

travelling in time, a perfect time capsule bringing you back in Victorian time. in the present, next to Farringdon station, connected to King's Cross St Pancrass, Heathrow (Elisabeth line) and other airports. Walking distance from Covent Garden. Nice bars and restaurants (Cebu is amazing, Gail) next door. Super friendly staff, especially Bangheera the black cat owning the place.

Stay at the Rookery

The Rookery is an attractive inner city boutique hotel in Farringdon and is very conveniently located for exploring London’s Westend. The decor is sheik with sympathetically chosen textiles and contemporary colours. The staff are welcoming and provide excellent local knowledge and London tips for guests. We appreciated the deep roll top bath..just the job for soaking away the days travel. All in all pricey but recommended.

Our room lacked a convenient power point for easy use of the supplied hairdryer and these days it seems odd that mobile charging is not provided on both sides of the bed. My partner would have preferred the door to have a separate internal deadlock but the building and fittings are from an earlier period.

We will highly recommend this hotel for friends and family traveling to London!

Impeccably thought out, very well run, thoughtful curation and placement of vintage books, antique furniture and artwork. Plus, the cat Bagheera, who oversees all with a mixture of affection and feigned indifference. It’s very peaceful and quiet, with lovely rooms where one can sit and relax, well stocked honour bars, and plenty of old books to peruse.

What’s not to like?? Great location, close walking distance to many sights of old London, steps from the Charterhouse and Great St Barts, as well as a 15 minute stroll to St Paul’s. Do ensure you are in good walking and climbing shape though, as the hotel does not have a lift! We were on the very top floor, which meant we thought twice about leaving the room for anything!

Very good

Staff were really helpful. Location was ideal. Beds were very comfortable and the air-con worked well in the heat. Interesting history and spaces.

The room we stayed in didn't have a shower. It just had a bath with a shower attached to the tap. Aesthetically pleasing, but not the most convenient.

Two night in London, very happy to choose The Rookery

Beautifully decorated rooms, very friendly staff on the front desk. I liked the common rooms, the garden and the honesty bar. It was nice that we could have breakfast in the room or in one of the public rooms of our choice. The breakfast was good.

There was no shower in the en-suite, only a bath (with a hand-held shower attachment). This was a shame, however it did make me relax and have a bath which was a nice change :-)

The Rookery Rocked! 🪨

I loved The Rookery! This is the second hotel from the hotel group the first being Batty Langley and I loved it just as much. It feels more like staying in someone’s home. With comfy cozy common living spaces with honor bar. And then the staff was super friendly so it made it feel like home. Also, the location was superb. One block down you’d find the tube and off. You could go visit London at any direction.

Very nice trip into the historic character of the neighborhood.

The common space as well as the room was beautifully decorated. Loved the books all around. Interesting history as well that adds character.

We were one level up on the main road - a bit noisy on Saturday night. The Market next door was not open, but I wonder about the noise from that as well during the week.

Exceptional

Was great for a treat, went on the trip for a couple of nights to spoil myself. Bed was super comfortable, bath tub was excellent for relaxing, food and room service top notch, every staff member was lovely

Soundproofing could use some work, there were sounds from the street in the early hours of the morning (Saturday night in London, what are you going to do, to be fair) plus there was another guest in a nearby room who had a terrible cough that kept me awake all the first night there

A very comfortable and unique stay in a central location in London.

Not a boring cookie cutter hotel, great location, easy tube access, restaurants, and very walkable neighborhood. Really loved having our breakfast in the library in a proper setting with a fireplace. Very stylish. Really enjoyed sitting room in our suite. Very comfortable bedding.

Wasn't crazy about the stairs down to the bathroom, but it was fine. Sometimes life gives you a spacious suite on two floors!

Excellent choice for couples looking for small romantic places.

A unique and interesting place loaded with history and very, very romantic and cosy. Location is top very near the Farringdon tube station.

The ”double bed” was very cosy but extremely narrow for two people. Cost very high, especially as breakfast is not included.

My second and certainly not my last stay in this wonderful hotel.

Full of character, perfectly located for all of central London, bedrooms furnished beautifully and the staff are exceptional. The living rooms, honesty bars and room service ensure this is a stay you won’t forget.

Nothing worth raising.

Beautiful hotel with historic characters and friendly staff made my holiday special

It’s one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed in. Full of characters. And location is super convenient if you travel from Heathrow. Elizabeth line connects to central London effortlessly. The bed was super comfy. The staff were so nice and remembered me from my past stay.

There were a few nights when I could hear people speaking or singing loud on the street but guess that comes with Christmas and NYE holiday.
