Hotel B, Lima

We have enjoyed Hotel B on several occasions when in Peru. The property is charming and well located with very professional staff.

On this trip, we were disappointed to be in a room directly below the rooftop bar. The level of noise after the bar closed was unacceptable. The moving of tables it seemed was causing this disruption which we didn't appreciate it. Also we received a call late in the evening from management asking us to turn off our tv - Tv which was NOT on. This further disrupted our sleep unnecessarily. One final note is that we received several prearrival WhatsApp texts asking for our dates of birth, passport numbers and other personal information. Perhaps we are more conscious of our security than most, but these are not pieces of information we generally like to share in this way. We told them we would share those pieces of information in person and that seemed to suffice but the request did raise some concerns for me about the security of our personal information. We travel the world quite regularly and are not generally asked via WhatsApp or any other messaging app to share this info.

Our room was freezing and we weren’t able to find the switch for the aircon to turn it off. Barely steps as the cold air constantly view on us. It used to inhuman to keep a room so cold The front desk girl was inefficien. We had a very short day as we arrived in the middle of the night. The tour guide arrived early and instead of having her wait for us the receptionist sent her away resulting in us waiting further the tour guide. Then when the guide finally came the front desk girl still had not completed our check out and again we were made waiting because she had my credit card. Front desk girl cost us 30 minutes of our 4 hour window to tour Lima The hotel confirmed awareness for our food allergies but were unable/unwilling to follow up endangering the guests The hotel is extremely inflexible to guests. First I booked it but changed my mind within a few hours as our flights changed. They refused canceling even within the sane day of reservation. They would not give us a late check out so we could relax a little but in fact the front girl made sure to check us out several hours early. There is no shutters accesible for guest to close in bathroom and construction across so construction workers looking into you. No privacy and no possibility to keep room dark Quite a lot of street noise.. For guests arriving late and wishing to be able to get some sleep after 5 am it is not ideal Tours of outside tourists in lobby and restaurant was very disturbing as they blocked access to bathrooms and reception It is a beautiful hotel but they don’t seem to care about guests more about money and coming off as a fancy place

A beautiful, unique property with tons of character. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. Tea time and complimentary drinks were lovely extras. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and the bathroom/tub sublime ☺️. Thoughtful little touches everywhere and the art is a bonus. The hotel and its staff go above and beyond to make your stay extra special. Great restaurant recommendations too! Within walking distance of the main Barranco attractions. A few reviews call out rooftop noise. Our room was on the second floor, so we had NO noise and slept like babies.

The location was perfect, close enough to bars and restaurants but still felt quiet and residential. The rooftop bar was great and amazing to watch the sunset from up there! We had a large group of friends joining us one evening for drinks on the rooftop and at check-in they provided a contact number we could use to make the reservation, and anything else we might need! Every snack, meal or drink we ate at Hotel B was delicious, and every member of staff was amazing!

accommodation is beautiful in old colonial style building, rooms are very nice and well decorated, the whole place makes you feel at home, staff is incredible and highly professional - I haven’t had a bad experience with staff

soundproofing could be improved, until 11 PM there is noise from the rooftop, but also there is noise from the road, and therefore it was impossible to have zero silence in the rooms, therefore the hotel could improve on room isolation, the staff still went above and beyond to control as much as possible the noise, and offered great pisco sours to the room for sleeping as well :-)

Fabulous selection for breakfast, including many non-traditional foods. Gorgeous rooftop terrace with fantastic cocktails. Artwork like staying in a contemporary museum. Loved everything about the hotel!

Rooms in the same category (aposento) vary wildly in size. So you may think you're getting a big room but the one we got was actually quite small. Friends in same category had palaces! (I think we were in 220)

fabulous rooftop with wonderful sunset views to the ocean. beds are so comfortable. ceilings are so high. amazing artwork—like sleeping in a contemporary art gallery. walking distance to Kjolle, Awicha and other great spots.

our room was on the ground floor, near the courtyard that it’s noisy as they run events pretty often.

The hotel is amazing in so many ways: excellent location in the absolute best part of Lima and in walking distance to great restaurants: Awicha, Isolina, Kjolle; the most comfortable beds in the world; fabulous rooftop terrace and bar with a drink called Chingon; and an incredible perfume smell that reminds me so much of all the great hotels in SE Asia. Fantastic breakfast with do much selection including lots of non-breakfast items like chicken in cream sauce, olives, cáptese salad and hummus, plus all the egg dishes as well.

it’s pricey so I suppose that’s a drawback for some.

The hotel hit the mark. it was clean, great service and a very charming place with a huge art collection spread over the house. while it’s a boutique hotel, it didn’t lack athmosphere as the restaurant/ bar seems to be a popular destination. the rooms are far enough from the restaurant that one gets to enjoy the vibrant hotel and yet retain full privacy once in the rooms.

The staff was nice, breakfast was super good and location is good.

The soap in the bathroom was expired and smelled bad, the complimentary water was just an expensive water bottle filled with tap water (mine had fungus at the top), the rooms are extremely average and the light from the fire alarm is so bright, when all the lights are off the room becomes all red.

the location in Barranco neighbourhood is fab, very trendy area with lots of restaurants and bars. staff are very friendly and the hotel itself is very cool with lots of art. they also have super cool cocktails and the breakfast is very nice. would definitely recommend staying here as one of the nicest hotels in that neighbourhood

I was given a room in the old wing for my first night and absolutely hated it, asked to move to new wing and it was much better. the “complimentary” afternoon tea was terrible, soggy sandwiches and stale pastries… it was also a bit cold in the common areas as it was winter time

Loud in the evenings - you could hear the music from the hotel bar. Very poor ventilation in the room - the smell from kitchen was in the room for the entire stay. The lack of amenties like gym or sauna. Very overpriced - the stay and additional services.

got an excellent deal on the room so felt it was worth the price. Would not pay the $300+ I was seeing for the room, as I don’t think it was up to date enough to demand that rate (lots of wear and tear). More of a 3 star hotel but still super unique, room was comfortable, excellent location and I’d stay again (in a discounted room). Excellent breakfast spread and staff is wonderful!

The Hotel is amazing. The rooms are super nice , the stuff is very friendly and the breakfast is amazing. The location is my favourite in Lima . Stroll around the little streets and you will find nice restaurants, cute coffee shops and nice concepts stores. Btw - the Bar is also good for cocktails and dinner .

The decor and the staff. It’s a beautiful historical building with lots of detailed decors. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice location. When there was a construction going on outside the hotel when we left, the staff helped us watch for our Uber to the airport outside.

NOISE. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights (Friday-Monday) and to be honest we NEVER a good sleep. Our room window was facing the dining room downstairs. The rooftop is open to public so on the weekend, it is VERY noisy. We could hear people walking down from the rooftop until closer to 12am and the CLEANING STARTED. We don’t blame the staff because it’s their job and they work very late. But we could hear EVERYTHING clearly - a staff dropped plates on the ground and startled us from sleep, vacuuming at 1am??? Another note - when we checked out, our bill was wrong. They added other food items and tips to our room when we only had the free breakfast once at the hotel the morning we checked out. Our bill turned out to be $400US + per night and our room didn’t even have a window facing outside. If $400US doesn’t mean anything to you then it might be a good place for you to stay at to enjoy the “finesse”.

The room, very nice room. Just what we were looking for.

The mattress was in terrible condition. We wanted to relax and watch a movie; very limited channel options. No Gluten Free options in the menu. Breakfast menu can be improved. Tried to charge me for a water that was supposedly included.

The staff were so amazing and helpful. They made us feel so welcome and answered our questions on where to find everything we needed in Barranco. The ambiance and vibe were great; I really liked the artwork and the music.

They no longer offer complimentary tea time and the breakfast is no longer "all you can eat". This has been disappointing.
