Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

Location is perfect, breakfast was very good.

Hotel is due for a renovation in Some areas. But not as urgent.

Every aspect exceeded what I would expect for the price we paid.

The atmosphere when we walked into the hotel The warm, respectful, friendly welcoming from exiting the taxi especially by Kamel.

The restaurant The salt & pepper containers were empty . The waiter tried from four different tables to try & help.

Very convenient, next to suria KLCC so there was no problem finding something to eat and supermarket

One time i booked the Chinese restaurant for lunch and my reservation was confirmed through the reception. When we got to the restaurant, the staff told us there was no booking under my name or room number. So I still don’t know who was responsible for this miss booking.

Fantastic location next to KLCC. The room was super comfortable and quiet. The Petronas Towers view was incredible.

Only gripe: the room wasn’t ready at check in, though the wait was short.

Location

Located at the foot of the Petronas Twin Towers and the large KLCC park and Mall, the MO is well located. The hotel is impressive with truly beautiful common areas, lounges, restaurants and foyer. The infinity pool is great with plenty of seating and a nice pool restaurant. The breakfast buffet was great with a fabulous range of international cuisine.

The bedrooms are old fashioned, tired and a bit shabby, in dire need of a renovation. I would not describe them as 5* at all. We had a cockroach in one of our bathrooms when we arrived, which wasn’t a great first impression! The staff were sweet but by the pool they were very slow to top up water, bring over drinks etc…. The breakfast dining space isn’t sufficient for a hotel of that size, so felt crowded and cramped.

It certainly needs a reform... even if it is historically dated.

Breakfast was sensational. Indian, Chinese and European tastes catered for with excellent service. There was a queue to be seated if you hit the rush-hour but it didn't detract.

Our only negative was that we were charged in error for extra costs that wasn't corrected until 6-7 days after we had checked out.

Beautiful decor and spacious room and bathroom. Many tasty breakfast options, well-located next to the iconic Twin Towers and easy downtown access to malls etc. The staff were super attentive and helpful as well. The spa was lovely as well as the gym!

The location was phenomenal, the staff were polite and professional. Mr Ryan who checked us in was outstanding.

“Excellent service! The room was wonderful, and the lounge was a delightful bonus — a great place to feel fancy while pretending I don’t check my emails every 5 minutes. The bed was so comfortable it practically held me hostage. All in all, one of the better places to stay in KL — and trust me, I’ve tested a few!
