Waimea Plantation Cottages Kauai, Hawaii

Reserved a room here to get a remote area where we could watch the meteor shower. This place exceeded our expectations. This was a beautiful little cottage right on the beach. IT was quaint but it was everything we needed. No, this is not the Marriott but it was so much more. We walked out the front door of the cottage and walked right up to the beach. There were so many stars in the sky and there was no light pollution anywhere. We will definitely return again

I don't believe there was anything that we didn't like. It was close to town and the trail. IT was just what we wanted.

We loved everything about it. When we asked for a BBQ it was promptly brought to our cottage. We got married at another location and my husband requested the office staff to bring champagne, chocolates and flowers to our cottage for our return. They did a beautiful job and made the evening perfect.

Larger variety of items in the gift shop. I know there is limited space but would have liked to see more options for all ages.

Quiet and beautiful location, amazing vegetation (fruit trees) and close to the coastline, cute cottage with all amenities (also for cooking), private parking in front of the cottage, good location for hikes in the Waimea Canyon.

The rooms are a bit outdated (especially the bathroom), the curtains in the bedroom are see-through, lots of mosquitos (but that's not their fault).

The location was perfect for my trip.

The cottages were so cute, the grounds very clean. It was quiet despite full occupancy. Ala at the front desk was so kind, helpful, I feel I was asking her questions every day and she went above and beyond to help. Fantastic customer service!!

These are sweet well-appointed cabins on oceanfront property. The location is great for visiting Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Park. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. It was handy to have laundry facilities.

It was peaceful and quiet. The grounds were well kept. The trees, palms and flowers were nice. The spacing of the cottages was good for privacy. Parking was good. One front desk clerk in particular, she was welcoming, attentative and courteous. The beach is nice for strolls and the sunsets were beautiful.

No good dining on the resort or nearby. The restaurant there never opened on time. Not enough beach lounger to supply guests, which is included in the resort fee. The washer did not work properly so the wash alone took over an hour.

The proprety is stunning, in a beautiful setting on the oceanfront. You have everything you need within a 20 min drive, but just for all the essentials, Waimea town is sufficient. There is a taco place simply out of this world within a 10 min walk. Very calm, quiet, and the most amazing evenings we had in Hawaii

You cant really swim in the ocean because the water is really murky and the currents are strong. So even if you stay on the seafront, if u wanna swim, you have to go to another beach, or use the swimming pool. The cabin itself was a little outdated, doorknobs weren't working proprerly, old style fixed metal shower with a shower curtain from the 80s, electric wall sockets far away from the bed (4 star complex i remind you) and considering they dont have housekeeping, after a few days you have sand and leaves everywhere, no matter how careful you are. The on site restaurant makes a deacent pizza, but honestly we prefered cooking ourselves or eating elsewhere. Very expensive, but you pay the location and the setting

The property is a traditional cottage on a large estate with a lot of open space and beautiful trees. The cottages are well spaced out and have verandahs with, in our case, a lovely view of the ocean. The accommodation is comfortable but unpretentious and the location of the estate is excellent for excursions to the Waimea Canyon and the Na Pali coast. There were fruitful mango trees on site. The staff were courteous and helpful.

can’t think of anything. the smoke detector alarm was located beside one of the bathrooms and went off if the door was left open after a shower - but we soon learned to keep the door shut and all was well. The beach has black sand and the sea tends to be brown from the nearby river water but there is a pleasant pool on site and plenty of yellow sand beaches nearby.

really cool property with historic cottages to stay in. perfect layout in our cottage was really relaxing and beautiful landscaping everywhere. loved it and want to go back. restaurant is also fun with live music and great smoked chicken.

I loved the ambience of the vintage cottage - it was like stepping back in time. The grounds are wonderful, well-groomed, and quiet. The staff was extremely helpful and there was free laundry to boot. It was a lovely, friendly, and "different" property to stay out.

I would have liked more menu options on the on site restaurant, which primarily only offered barbecue and salads. But that is a minor complaint.

They only clean your place once a week and you have to request it. getting fresh towels is not automatic

It was so quiet and peaceful here! The cottages are lovely and you have enough separation from your neighbors, it feels very private. We found the restaurant on-site to be fun, delicious, and convenient. I enjoyed being able to go for walks & run along the beach. Waimea itself is more laid-back than Poipu nearby or Princeville in the north, but it's a great location for relaxing and taking a drive up the canyon.

The A/C unit, while powerful, was quite noisy. We ended up turning it off completely the second night, and stayed cool enough with just the ceiling fans.

The grounds were lovely and immediately kept. The little cabin was charming and we were away from all the heavily populated resorts. The cafe gave all profits to a camp for Hawaiian children and it seems some of them have work experience there. The food was all homemade and was delicious. It is truly a hidden gem Loved it!

The kitchen had the essentials for cooking but could have used a bowl for salads or doing scrambled eggs.

A lovely experience in a lovely location. Cottages were well-spaced so there is a feeling of privacy and seclusion. Quite a ‘quirky’ idea of re-located and original plantation cottages - which added to the fun of the experience. Ours was very comfortable. Nice outdoor pool too.

Great location near boat tours & the beautiful Waimea Canyon. The property is just like the pictures, & well maintained. Quiet & peaceful.

No A/C in the living room area, which can get uncomfortably hot.
