The St. Regis Florence is a masterpiece of history, housed within a 15th-century Renaissance palace originally designed by the legendary Filippo Brunelleschi. Located on the banks of the Arno River, it has served as an emblem of Florentine hospitality since it opened as a hotel in 1866. Its interiors are a rich blend of history and luxury, featuring original frescoes, hand-carved details, and antique furnishings that celebrate the city’s Medici heritage.
The heart of the property is undoubtedly the Winter Garden, a stunning space crowned by a 19th-century stained-glass ceiling and a majestic Murano glass chandelier. It serves as a social hub for guests to enjoy the hotel’s signature Bloody Mary, take part in the daily champagne sabrage ritual, or indulge in a curated afternoon tea service.
Luxury here is personal, highlighted by the brand’s iconic 24/7 butler service. For wellness, the hotel offers refined Spa Suites featuring Carrara marble and mosaic accents, providing a tranquil sanctuary after a day of exploring the city’s storied streets.
Its location on the Lungarno puts you just a short, picturesque walk from the iconic Ponte Vecchio and the world-renowned Uffizi Gallery. You are also within easy reach of the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella and the bustling Piazza Ognissanti, which sits right at the hotel’s entrance. Staying here feels less like a hotel visit and more like an immersive step back into the golden age of the Italian Renaissance.

“After a head-to-toe renovation, the St. Regis Florence opened in 2011 in a landmark building that was designed in the 15th century by Filippo Brunelleschi (of Duomo fame). The 100 rooms and suites boast centuries-old frescoes, Murano glass chandeliers, beautiful antique furniture, Arno River views and every modern amenity.”

Excellent hotel and location
Fantastic hotel. Not so good for meals. But in Florence there are 2000 restuarants and eating out is a main experience even for breakfast.
No real bar or bistro.
