Marriott Hotel at the Renaissance Center, Detroit

Besides getting charged double for my room and trying to contact them for weeks about this with no return calls or emails it was a decent hotel. A little dated but nice

Staff was awesome. Got an upgraded room with a view that we loved!

We got dropped off from our Uber at the backside of the property and it was a maze to get back and it didn’t feel secure. There were homeless in the bathrooms

Couldn’t check in until 4, didn’t even want to check and see if our room has been cleaned at that time. The shower wasn’t all that clean, for the price of $300/night I would have expected spotless, towels that had a weird bad scent. The a/c really wasn’t that strong

The flatbread was the best! It was a good quality product. I had wings and fries, a ceasera salad that was fresh. The bathroom was filthy & disgusting. It was blood on my comforter. House keeping needs a new manager!

The bathroom was filthy and atrocious. Their was a plane cookie wrapper under the toilet seat. That means it was not cleaned. The shower head was pointed up, which meant water seeped on the floor. EVERYWHERE! I had to clean my own bathroom with bleach wipes and my towels. No one was available to help me.

Perfect location for Detroit river view walk and marina. Canada bridge is close, view form the room is amazing. Everything is close and people mover in the hotel

We were not told at check in that rooms do not get serviced everyday. Also we we got back from dinner and our bottom sheet was inside out and had sticky stuff on one side but when we rung there was a changeover of staff so said don’t worry and laid a towel on it.

The view and the location were great!

The valet parking was full. The separate parking lot was very inconvenient. The architectural set up of this building is the atrocious! It took over 45 minutes just to get to our room, and then our key didn’t work so we had to return to the front desk after 45 minutes of hassle. It took just about the same amount of time to get out of the hotel back to the parking garage. Many guests were also struggling with how to get to where they parked. Signage is unclear and lacking. We will NOT be returning to this Marriott location again due to all this frustration. Also, we did not like that our toilet did not work.

Close to the venue we were attending a concert at.

I reserved a room with two queen beds and it said check in was at 3 we got to the hotel I was told check in was at 4 and they had no double rooms only rooms with king beds. Their were 3 of us I was told a comped rollaway bed would be in the room , I had to call to request the bed be brought up. The person who slept on the rollaway bed said it was very uncomfortable and I’m pretty sure my original room was more then the king bed room to which their was no price adjustment so technically the rollaway was not comped. The hallways were EXTREMELY HOT Very frustrating!

The room seemed very outdated and dingy. For the price, was definitely expecting a bit more of a wow factor. Instead, we walked in to see your average room... something we could have gotten for much less somewhere else.

Staff was nice and courteous they took care of us after the conflict with the wait staff at the restaurant accommodated us for the meal and Compass breakfast for the inconvenience of the room being cold

The room was small and the bed was uncomfortable. For that price, I would expect better blankets or extra blankets. Coffee was also stingy. Nothing was open in the property on the weekend which was strange to us. I just expected better for the money spent. It could be so much better.

Room needs updating, especially the air handling. we would have had a lovely view of the river, but because there was no bath room fan to handle shower humidity, the single pane window had internal condensation blocking the view the whole time we were there (in March). it is difficult to find your way between floors and towers. better signage would be helpful.

Well, we booked about 6 rooms and 4 out of those 6 rooms that were originally assigned to us were very dirty (Beds were unmade, trash was everywhere, etc.) when we got into them.. They did however accommodate to the rooms that were dirty and give some money off and gave some money for them to go receive breakfast, along with getting upgraded rooms.

Food was great. Location and views were amazing. Easy walk to downtown ans easy to get in and out of parking.

Rooms were old and small. Not much in the way of amenities- very basic. Most of the places onsite were closed. Parking was expensive!

Wi-Fi did not work in room 4708 I had to use cellular data for six days and my carrier charged me $50 for that!

Cleaning of the room, toilet was dirty.

Room was smaller than I thought it would be. The bathroom wasn't stocked with soap and things I thought would be in there. The view was nice, but windows were a little dirty. The staff was EXCELLENT!

I had to get a lot of work done and I'm used to free wi fi at all the hotels I stay at. The fact I had to pay to use the internet bothered me especially for the money I was paying for the room.

The rooms are very comfortable with a wonderful view of the river and Windsor, Canada.

It is very difficult getting around in the building. It’s a maze just to get to the exit or find the restaurants on site.

Location to Hartz Plaza and downtown. The bed and pillows were comfortable.

Why isn't unlimited WiFi included in the price? No-one can live without being connected and being expected to pay $14 .95 USD extra per day is robbery and unattractive for international guests. No airport shuttle. No daily room cleaning.

Front desk check in was very smooth and accommodating.

Wireless connectivity was a bit sporatic. Frustrating that the rooms were not cleaned or that the amenities (in room coffee; soaps) were not replenished during the 5 night stay.

The hotel was in the perfect location for what I needed. Rooms were clean.

The elevators were not working properly. It was hard to get more towels when needed.

the elevators were atrocious. the wait to get on one took approximately 10 minutes. my booking stated one king bed and a sofa bed. I needed the sofa bed. no sofa bed in the room. our air conditioner did not work overnight. after multiple people took a shower, all the windows in the room fogged up. I feel that $400 was not a good price because of all of this

The beds are extremely comfortable and the view of the river walk was amazing.

When arrived there was a line close to 20 people to check in and only 2 staff at the counter. At times the wait for the elevators are over 20 minutes. The ac in our room went out in the middle of the night and when I attempted to call down to the desk the phone just rang and no one answered.

Rooms were not cleaned properly. Very dusty, fridge not wiped out, bags left in the drawer and dirty rags left in the bathroom. Doesn't seem like anyone is inspecting the rooms when they have been completed..

Second room was clean an warm and comfortable with a great view of the river French coffee shop “ Cannelle Detroit” off Woodward was pretty much the highlight - eat desert first!

First room someone have suck in and had a shave and a dump in after it was cleaned apparently. Second room was nice and clean and warm, great view nice bed too. Until 1:30 am when the “guest” in the next room ran his stereo full volume till 3:30. Very bad night sleep, not really their fault it’s just a symptom of the society we live in - I paid a lot of money to be here so I am going to do whatever I darn well like. Shame for the rest of us.
