Hostel Fish, Denver

Nice hostel close to downtown. Great social bar and kitchen attached. Rooms quite clean and beds fairly comfortable.

Loud music played through the hostel until after midnight. Bathroom, especially showers, were not very clean.

Very clean hostel, comfortable bed and spacious room for 4 people.

Noisy party in the hostel till 1:30am. Bring your earplugs ;)

I loved the location of the Hostel it was located in the city However chose your journey cautiously. Paid $5. for a 1:00 pm checkout. 4 Blocks from Coors Field (Rockies). 👍🏼👍🏼🫶🏼

Female room bed of 6 the others guest arriving very late not so Quite nor considerate. Preparing to leave I pulled on the bed sheet uncovering the mattress cover and it had dried blood stains! Made me feel sick that I slept on that. SMH YUCK 🤮. Bed quilt reused after other guest checked out. Male staff cleaning All Female room while guest in their private area. Not good. BUT worth the $$ if you don’t mined certain things. Need a small table to place clean clothes when showering. 👍🏼✌🏼

Everything. I like the location very much. Especially that it is well connected by public transportation and there are good grocery stores just by the corner.

Only thing that I didn't like is that the air conditioner in the room was very loud and the street outside was not very quite during sleep time.

Free Wi-Fi with good connection. Good breakfast. Very nice staff and answered my questions before my travel. Close to Union Station where 24 hrs good connection to the airport. Good bus connections to the Oriental Theater. Clean room, bed and toilets. I will stay here again if will visit Denver.

The shower was great, but the water didn't drain for the duration of the shower. My last day had puddles of water in both the shower cubicals and water flowing out.

The place was very organized. The beds had their own lights and plugins. There was a place under the beds for luggage.

But dont lock anything up in the room downstairs, they dont lock the room and I had things stolen from my suitcase stored there. If you leave it in your room only the people in your room have access to it. Downstairs everyone has access. The door is not locked, it's not even closed. But it is one of the most thought out hostels I've ever stayed in, other than that room. Just dont bring too much.

Staff was pleasant and the shared bathrooms were well kept. They continually checked to ensure needs were being met. Located in the heart of downtown without being in the middle of the chaos that can happen. Even better priced than expected.

An option for good coffee would be nice.

as others have commented, from 9pm to 2.30am it was extremely noisy, even though I was on a floor above the bar. supposed to be quiet after 2 am but people were still shouting at 2.45am. it’s a shame.

The check-in and checkout process was smooth and simple. We got the King room and it was spacious, with a large bed, two bedside tables and a chair. The bathroom was stocked with towels, soap, shampoo and body wash. Everything was quite clean. Also at the bar there are seats and space to work if you need to.

It would have been helpful to have a table or something in the room where we could put our backpacks, clothes and other items, rather than the floor or the chair in the corner. Also, sound travels quite well through the hostel, it was quite loud until late at night due to the bar, but a good tradeoff for the location & price!

The property is 10 minutes from the union station, I wouldn’t walk alone though at night as a solo female. The area will make you a little uneasy at night time if you’re alone but other than that great location. Staff is really chill and the bar is a fun place to sit and hang out.

The pillows are very flat so bring your own.

I liked the building, the room, the bed, the bathroom, the shower & the complimentary coffee. And of course the location! Everything was very comfortable and up to my expectations.

On Tuesday March 12, at 7:30 a.m. the kitchen and the small relaxing space on the side were still locked. There was not even the possibility to drink some water before leaving the hostel to visit the city.

My little light stopped working in the morning. And it was too loud up to 1 am ( I guess they have a night club going during the weekend)

The hostel was very clean as compared to many hostels i stayed in Europe. Also, it was not crowded at all (in late January). Beds were super comfy and the room was spacious. It is a historic building and they carved some sections of the plaster walls to show the red bricks under it, I think the owners are respectful to its history. I liked how they had digital keys to each room, to provide better safety. Location is superb, very central in the downtown! They have a nice bar area, as well as Ophelias downstairs. We attended a concert there and stayed at the hostel upstairs for the night. That was very convenient.

I paid for the locker, small fee but still that would be good to know in advance. Also, good luck in understanding how to lock/unlock, since the locks are a bit confusing. Even the staff had to try multiple times. But she was very kind overall, so I wouldn't think this as too much of a problem :)

The temperature. All places were so cold. They have the temperature set at 67 F.

Check in was super easy. The location wasn’t bad. A bit of a walk in middle of Winter from the train station but it was pretty.

The bathrooms were super clean. They didn’t have towels though and the shower head had mold on it. The wallpaper was also torn exposing degrading drywall. It kind of went with the rustic aesthetic though.

Showed up early, staff welcomed me and secured my bags in the back room. Location is close to downtown Denver. If you want to drink and party, this is a great place, as the hostel bar stays open until the wee hours of the morning. Bed was reasonably comfortable, and the bathroom was recently remodeled. Keycode entry to rooms and the bathroom provided security - but don't leave your wallet in your room when you go to take a leak!

Kitchen was filthy and cookware was in bad condition when I used it to cook dinner. I wanted to cook breakfast at 6:30 AM, ahead of my Amtrak departure, but the kitchen was locked up, and a call to the listed number merely rang the phone behind the vacant front desk. Fortunately, I had prepared for the eventuality. The hostel's advertisement as "upscale" is disingenuous. The entrance staircase is extremely worn-out. Bunks have electrical outlets, but no storage shelves and no privacy curtains.

Great that they could store luggage before check-in, convenient central location. Lovely clean bathroom facilities and comfy beds.

Comfy, clean, and secure hostel. Everything that one would expect from a hostel experience. Easy check in and check out. Friendly staff.

There is a large staircase right at the entrance - difficult to deal with if you have large luggage. The floors are also a bit creaky.

Great atmosphere. Interesting building. Ideal location. Clean showers etc despite being shared. Storage under the beds was fine.

The dormitory was too hot and stuffy. It would be great if you could open a window.

The atmosphere is great, the rooms and shared bathrooms clean. I was even lucky to be alone in a 4-bed room

A long and steep flight of steps when you enter. Hardly accessible and tough even with a bigger suitcase There is not only a disco underneath and a bar with open doors and music until 11pm, the hallways also have loud music until 2am. The receptionist says it is part of the design. He readily gave me earplugs when I complained but it did not help much. This deducted a lot from an otherwise great experience.

Live music venue downstairs. Depending on who's playing, the whole building may be shaking until 2 a.m. No bed lights. Very noisy HVAC with wide temperature swings. Not so easy to climb out of the top bunks, which are very high. Lockers are see-through so I didn't feel safe keeping my computer there. Not much fast food available nearby; just one pizza place across the street and a small food court at McGregor Place.

Kitchen was locked when I had to leave and there was no warning, either during booking or check in, that this would happen. I had to catch an early flight, couldn’t make breakfast, and ended up having to leave my food. There was nobody to call either.

We booked the room with a private bathroom, which was clean and comfortable. The location was fine for our needs. Sabina was really helpful in showing us how to use the washer and dryer. She made a fresh pot of coffee for us to have with our breakfast. Generally, it was a pleasant experience.

There was nowhere to put stuff in the shower or the bathroom - a.little shelf would have been nice. Also, a mat to stand on once you got out of the shower.

My room was next to the bar. It was sometimes hard to sleep before 1:00 AM.

Nice hostel. The female dorm is comfy, the bathrooms are spacious and clean, and the kitchen space has all the basics. The staff was nice. It was not too noisy. Good location.

The state of the dorms

The kitchen is full equipped and the hostel seems alright

it's super loud. there's constant music and the area doesn't feel safe at times. Parking is possible but expensive. Might have been just too old for the hostel.

Have to carry your suitcase up stairs to check-in. Some people might struggle. There were a lot of homeless in the area. Room 306 had a fan that come on and off automatically all night and couldn't turn it off.

Reception checkin was smooth and efficient. The bathrooms were very clean and bright.

The room was smelly in the morning with all the bodies. It probably can’t be helped considering it is a bunk room. My bunk only had a partial curtain.
