The Marriott Mena House, Cairo

The location is stunning. Lovely rooms. Comfortable beds. Wonderful staff.

The food in the Italian restaurant was not particularly good for such a luxury hotel. The pool was annoyingly closed for my stay but that’s just bad timing. The Exec Lounge was not as good as it should be: it feels small, pokey, no nice view and mediocre food. Sadly, also, too many narcissists constantly taking their photos/videos inform of the main restaurant, which is annoying but such is the world we live in now.

My stay was truly exceptional, I’m not even kidding when I say I have been to a 1000 different hotels in my life and this is one of the absolute top ones. Not only the location is amazing, looking straight at the pyramids but everything from cleanliness to helpful, amazing staff, great facilities, free private sauna and jacuzzi, I had the best massage ever in their SPA (and I spent 1,5 year in Thailand getting massages nearly everyday at different price range), food was tasty, I loved sitting outdoors while at breakfast or lunch, dinner. I can’t express enough how well behaved and mannered the Staff is, they truly made my stay unforgettable by the way they made me feel. The gardens in a hotel are beautiful and even if the rooms are a bit dull (as most of the hotels anyway) it was very clean and I found it spacious. I felt like a Queen there and it is worth the price. I read the bad reviews but honestly it’s gotta be some bad days or unlucky one time experiences because the hotel was amazing. I recommend it with all my heart!

They helped us with doggy-bag at the breakfast, which really helps considering you'll trip around Pyramids on foot all day.

Prices are international Marriott Prices; whereas the country is relatively affordable. Therefore Marriott overpriced the hotel and its services. I hope the staff is well-paid.

The staff were incredible, impeccable service. The food was also delicious, a little expensive but I think the quality met the price. Staff were very attentive, helped with anything we needed.

The rooms remained a bit noisy, not that well isolated from exterior noises, which for the price you pay is a bit of an issue..

We dined in the hotel all meals….brunch, Buffet and Italian. Staff were kind and attentive (sometimes to much attention) Meals were good, I would forego the buffet in future and dine a le cart… better value. We enjoyed the lounge area, piano music and a cold beer…very relaxing.

It’s a safe hotel and you feel safe at all times but room charges seem exorbitant….we are accustomed to Fine hotels in Canada that are not priced this high. BUT we treated ourselves to more comfort during a couple days in Giza.

Beautiful property with staff who are engaged with guests , and care. In particular, Ahmed at the pool bar was excellent.

Noise Facilities and rooms old need refresh

This hotel has a quiet historic background. Many celebrities also stayed in this beautiful hotel. Location was next to pyramids. Room was very clean and bed and pillows were very comfy 😌. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. Amal hostess in the restaurant was very curtyest and pleasant. she was looking after everyone so efficiently and promptly. Pool was very big and clean. Overall hotel was amazing.

Perfect location if you mostly visit Pyramids and the new museum. Perfectly clean, colonial decoration, wonderful staff and service, perfect english, amazing rest with pyramid view. Actually this is the oldest british hotel in Cairo,,renewed and enlargened. Excellent

An unparalleled location. Truly an epic view and beautiful compound. The most incredible pool!! A spacious room with a very comfortable bed. A great buffet restaurant with fresh and delicious food, and includes Egyptian food which was a welcome change. I want to recognise Mahmoud in the restaurant for his warmth and kindness. I’d also like to recognise Ali who was the housekeeper on my floor (Room 230). He was so friendly and his attention to detail in how he serviced the room was outstanding.

The rooms are a bit dated and should have a revamp to be on par with other 5 star resorts at this price point. The majority of the team in restaurants and bar were exceptionally attentive and warm, and this means staff who aren’t really let the side down. There was one young woman in the restaurant who was rude, abrupt, and didn’t seem to enjoy the hospitality part. I did let the manager know and the manager apologised and heard my feedback. A hotel of this quality cannot afford a poor performer in customer facing role.

The 'Garden view' room descriptor didn't make it clear that it wouldn't include a view of the main garden but of a side strip. We had to upgrade.

Location stunning, hotel, room and facilities amazing. Call out to the breakfast staff, they couldn't do enough for you, so professional and helpful. Overall really enjoyed the stay as always, thanks so much!

View of the pyramids from the hotel was amazing. Having coffee at sunrise with a pyramid view was just magical. buffet breakfast was probably the best we had during our visit to Cairo. I’d probably consider staying here again just for the breakfast 😂. Staff are super helpful, friendly and professional. Compliments to the staff! They definitely made the stay a pleasant experience. Hotel swimming pool was open until 8pm. Bathroom was clean, water pressure was fine too.

139 pavilion was closed during our visit which was actually part of the reasons we decided upon staying at the hotel - they only informed us last minute like 2 days before our departure which was quite unprofessional as we couldn’t even make a cancellation and make changes to our plan at that time. They were doing construction throughout the entire evening past 10p.m. making a lot of noise we could hear from our rooms. The shelf next to the table had dust collections.

unfortunately there were some constructions ongoing that spoiled part of the pyramid view and we were informed very late of this. Sad that a private event can ruin it for everyone for so many days ... not sure Marriott should be part of this and all the clients to pay for it indirectly. not fair especially at this price.

This is the best Hotel I have ever stayed at. The breakfast is the best breakfast I have ever eaten at a hotel, the variety of options are endless and it tasted incredible. The staff are the most friendly staff I have come across in a hotel. The best part is obviously the view I felt like I was in a dream. Wow, mind blown this is a must if you are coming to Cairo.

The pyramid view from our room was excellent. Worth having if you are in Giza for a short time. The pool was also beautiful and grounds well maintained. There is also a high level of security as you come in.

We went for a walk past the original part of Mena House and were ushered into the construction site which seemed odd by a staff member and then taken into a surprise jewellery/ tourist gift shop in the middle of the construction site. Interesting by Western standards this would not be allowed without a safety induction to be let into a construction site. Like everywhere in Egypt tourists seem to be ushered away into a tourist store and pressured to spend USD, despite being told ‘there is no pressure’ to spend.

What is there not to like. From the guarded entrance to the memorising pyramids welcoming you in. Service was 5* 10/10 with nothing to complain about. The food the drinks the massages were all beyond reasonable pricing! The pool area was so quiet and spacious with amazing staff and services. If you want to stay in Giza and have a true authentic experience this is the only place to be at. We had the pyramid view room and simply breathtaking. Can’t wait to come back asap.

The view is breathtaking, the location is little annoying due o ongoing works in the streets, but in general location is amazing because of pyramids view, breakfast is very good, hotel is clean and the staff very helpful, the cost is high but considering the view and the services could be fair to limits.

The cost and the traffics, also the entrance for taxi's could be improved to find easier way to pick-up and drop-off the visitors.

Fantastic views, unbeatable location, and the staff are incredible! This is a MUST stop when visiting Cairo!

Could not fault anything about the property, however the sandwiches and burgers at their restaurant 139 Pavilion weren’t the best, however the seafood pasta was one of the best I’ve ever had so it more than makes up for it! And the view is worth 10 stars alone!

The location was spectaculair! Breakfast or dinner with the pyramids in the background. And walking distance, 10 minutes, from the pyramids.

The room we had was a bit older. It was perfect clean but the shower was in de bathtub and really small and low.

legendary hotel, the location can’t get better. everything was brilliant and exceeded our expectations. upon checking in, the very friendly Donia offered us a free upgrade with a partial view of the Pyramid, which was wonderful. the room itself is spacious, clean, comfortable and cold enough in the hot Cairo weather of July. the pool is clean and well maintained and the changing rooms were clean. we also tried the Indian restaurant: The Moghul Room which was nicely decorated, food and service were brilliant. finally: to the highlight of the visit: the breakfast buffet: lovely staff, amazing selection, fresh and delicious bakeries and desserts and the view was just wonderful. thank you to the staff that made our visit wonderful, specially to Donia. gladly again

Everything was excellent, I did not have the view from my room I would have liked but was very accessible to all the views, the view of the pyramids from the patio of the restaurant was beautiful, I was very happy with the hotel and staff everyone was exceptionally pleasant and professional

Nada and sandy in reception and nada from house keeping went above and beyond to make us feel as welcomed and comfortable as possible. The view and history of the place was absolutely majestic. Would definitely recommend to couples and families

The location was unbeatable! With a view of the pyramids from nearly every angle within the grounds of Marriot Mena House. The staff were very friendly and worked hard to deliver excellent service and cleanliness throughout the hotel.

I would have loved if Marriott Mena had a convenience store where we could easily pick up things like sun block ect.
