The room was very comfortable, we enjoyed our stay after spending 2 weeks in Patagonia. The bathroom was also very spacious and the shower was fantastic. Great linens & towels; all the details were better than expected. We also appreciated the flexibility to arrange a late checkout. For $60 we were able to stay until 5pm which was very helpful since we didn't fly out until midnight. The staff were very kind to hold our bags while we went to dinner and waited for our ride to the airport.

I was not happy with the breakfast. Other reviewers had spoken highly of it, which is why I booked, but I found it to be disappointing. The coffee was terrible, eggs were watery and cold, baked goods stale. The only edible item was some fresh fruit; we had to go out and find coffee & breakfast elsewhere which was disappointing. The neighborhood/location is fine if you want to see the historical buildings, but we found it seriously lacking when it came to good restaurants. We had one day to explore the city and wished we had booked something in the Palermo neighborhood instead which would have offered much more variety and higher quality options for food. Overall, it was a pleasant place to land after 2 weeks in the mountains, and we were comfortable. But, the food at the hotel and in the surrounding neighborhood was a disappointment.

Location turned out to be great. U can walk to many of the sights and attractions. For others short uber ride. Really nice restored art deco hotel. Staff was always very helpful. Breakfast was very good.

Rooftop bar was not open. But you could go there with your own drinks and enjoy the view.

Great location for accessing the main city centre sites of interest. The room was huge and nicely appointed with a huge very comfortable bed and large en-suite bathroom. The roof bar is nice although you take your own drinks with you.

A warmer welcome after an 18 hour flight would have been nice but I guess it’s a very busy city centre hotel

Air con was freezing and difficult to regulate. Hard to find initially- we walked past it as signs for it are very small.

Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of foods. Staff was outstanding. Location is very convenient. The hotel provided drink and snacks for a midnight celebration on the roof for New Year’s Eve.

It would have been good if there had been dinner available at the hotel on New Year’s Eve since there was almost nothing open for a light dinner without a big party,

The room was very comfortable and accessible by elevators. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great. This building was originally a Singer Sewing Machine showroom and factory when it was first built in 1913.

The staff were excellent and very helpful. The hotel has a great nostalgic feel to it, unlike many soulless big named hotels the Tango de Mayo felt like home.

Some of the fittings were a little bit worn around the edges, nothing that a little bit of maintenance couldn't handle. Just took the edge off the period decor a little bit.

Good location. Nice and very clean rooms. Comfortable bed and pillows. Every afternoon, free tea/coffee and cake in the lobby. Everyday bottled water in the room. I would gladly stay in this hotel again.

Air conditioning (fourth floor) not working properly, BUT on being informed the reception changed my room without any problems. The windows in the rooms do not open, so you have to rely on AC. The breakfast selection is just satisfactory.

The hotel charm and confort is exceptional for contained price. This has been my preferred hotel in Argentina over 6 weeks trip. Thank you. Personnel is also helpful and flexible

Loved the Art Nuevo, French style. Excellent location with a delicious breakfast buffet. The staff was friendly and helped with transportation arrangements from the airport and to the port.

The hotel was original building and the design and architecture was beautiful. A little old fashioned but we enjoyed the different sty instead of a more modern look. It was central to a lot of old historic buildings so enjoyed looking at the architecture around the city.

The included breakfast was very average and food standards were low.

We were blown away by the value for money of this hotel. We kept reminding ourselves that 3 great nights here cost about the same amount as one night at the Brooklyn La Quinta -- a horrible place! Our room was really big and had an actual king sized bed (we expected a queen and feared we get a double). The decor was a bit loud -- but the hotel is called "Tango" and it wasn't too over done. Our bathroom was luxurious --great shower, nice thick towels. Breakfast was really excellent and varied enough that we didn't get tired of it in three mornings. There's a big lobby with lots of seating which was full at times with groups getting ready to leave, but it was perfectly acceptable to hang out there with luggage before check in or after check out -- and the hotel was happy to hold luggage for us for most of our first day and last day. Staff steered us to a very enjoyable restaurant 6 blocks away where we ended up eating two nights, called Chiquilin. They also advised on where to change money safely, helped with a Subte (subway) card and were generally very kind.

Picky -- but some hooks in the bathroom and better ventilation or different air freshener in the hallway would have made a nearly perfect place perfect!

Wanted to sit and have drinks on the roof top terrace, unfortunately it wasn’t open for this. It is seen as one of the best when asked for recommendations on Google, disappointing especially as we were staying there.

Quite a few nibbles had to be looked at: telephone not working, wardrobe clothes rail fell off, Aircon just couldn't get cold enough, cold water tap fell off in shower.

We were so glad we stayed at this stylish hires with a very up-market feel. Our room was very much above the ordinary, with a lot of character from the tango theme, and the included breakfast was very nice. We would stay here again without hesitation.
