Tango de Mayo Hotel, Buenos Aires

The hotel is right in the center of Buenos Aires. It is save to walk around, except when moving in crowded areas. Unfortunately we experienced a pick pocket incident. Apart from that we had a great time here. The Roof Top Restaurant with spectacular views over the city is in the same building as the hotel Tango de Mayo. Take one of the hop on hop off buses to get an idea of the town. November is a good time to visit because it is spring time and the parks invite for leisurely walks.

Beautiful property, fabulous location, comfy big rooms. The rooftop bar was closed when we were there but it was fun to buy wine and snacks from the supermarket across the street and take them to the roof ourselves- in fact this might be better (and certainly cheaper and more private) than when the bar is open to the public.

Terrible breakfast (the only hot food was greasy mini sausages and cold scrambled eggs), the rest was pretty boring too.

Tried to organize transport from the airport but it never arrived. The website said there was a restaurant but it was only open for breakfast

It was a small slightly old-fashioned hotel that made you feel very at home and comfortable.I would recommend it for couples. The neighborhood is nice and safe and has a good selection of restaurants.If we go back to Buenos Aries I would stay there again. Also, the staff was very helpful and welcoming.

Great locality, in the walking distance to most of the interesting places.

The room is spacious and clean. Location is fantastic. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Hernan. He assists us with information more than we required.

The breakfast has no many choices.

The location on Avienda de Mayo is perfect. The staff were extremly helpful in all aspects. The breakfasts were well presented and consistent with a 4 star hotel. The room was very clean We did not have any noise problems on the 5th floor

The water shut off twice in the 5 days we were there but they reset the pump ( I was told) and it was on again in 5 minutes ; even at 5am. The safe did not work and they could not fix it.

Fabulous location. Very authentic & tasteful decor. Found it very clean. Breakfast was fine. Not enough choice on hot drinks. Staff friendly & helpful at reception.

The location, staff and breakfast were great. Nice smell everywhere. They left a beautiful letter for our honeymoon, champagne and gave us a beautiful room. !

My room on the second floor was very noisy; the sounds from the street were present all evening and in the morning.

The design is beautiful and full of character. The main tango theme is very well executed, and the building itself is quiet and charming. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we especially loved the terrace with its breathtaking views. Breakfast was good, although the variety and number of options could be improved. A great bonus was the self-serve tea and coffee station in the lobby in the evenings. Very thoughtful and convenient. The location is excellent: close to public transport, main attractions, and many cafés, restaurants, and convenience stores. There are plenty of sightseeing spots within walking distance.

The only issue we experienced was at checkout. The hotel charges payment on departure, and although our Canadian cards worked everywhere else during the trip, including in Chile right before and after, all of them were declined on the first terminal. It was stressful, especially before a flight, but fortunately a second terminal processed the payment immediately. It didn’t ruin the stay, but it did leave us with some extra stress at the end.

Nice location in the heart of the city

The room was nice, just wore. Broken closer doors, broken lamp shades, stained curtains and scuffs on walls. Lobby furniture could use a cleaning also.

Okay, I didn’t really like the room decor as it was too red for me. But that is up to personal tastes, so can't really complain about it.

Great location on Avenida de Mayo, within walking distance of the main attractions. Friendly and professional staff, and a good complete breakfast.

During our first stay, the room on the first floor was very cold due to poor window insulation. On our second stay, the room was much better, with a smaller window and proper sealing.

The hotel was in an awesome location - very central and in a beautiful spot, close to a lot of attractions and the subway. The breakfast included was great for tourists as it had both Argentine options and eggs, cereals, fruit and toast etc. The hotel recommended the El Querandi Tango show which was an unforgettable experience that we will treasure for years to come.

It’s probably outside the hotel’s control but Buenos Aires can be noisy. We were kept awake by people on the street yelling at 3am on a Monday. This didn’t have a huge impact on our stay as we understood we were staying in a central location where lots of people go out etc

excellent location, in the heart of BA! Staff were helpful and welcoming. We had a very comfortable stay here, rooms and lobby were clean! Shower was excellent! Breakfast was okay, and fitness centre wasn’t fit for purpose!

The breakfast isn’t good. I recommend you do your reservation with no breakfast included. Barolo Palace is just in the corner and it’s fantastic ! And you are free to wake up and go for it anytime! I love Buenos Aires !

The location was good, btoh if you're going around in taxi or public transport. The staff was friendly and helpful. I slept very good, and the bed was comfortable. The rooms are equipped with everything you need

The windows don't block the noise well, so you hear the street quite a bit. The breakfast was not of great quality. The bathroom could use a bit of maintenance (shower head, silicone around the sink, etc)

Glum, slightly terse staff at breakfast and a reasonable buffet but limited healthy cereals. No tea and coffee in our room and the service in the lobby never seemed to be available when we needed it. It was a shame that the rooftop bar was not available while we were there.
