Location is very central on the edge of China Town, 7 mins walk from the Common. Breakfast was great, good variety, great Bagels. Large kitchen an dining area.

Price, location and atmosphere.

Great location, friendly staff, very big lockers. You have to bring your own lock. Room was big enough for the amount of people and security is great. They have a big kitchen, provide good breakfast, and have water fountains, which is amazing. There were also plenty of bathrooms..

The door didn't really close to you had to push it quite hard to close, which led to many people not really closing the door. The room was also not soundproof and you could hear every conversation from the room next door.

The location is a big plus - walking distance to the train station and the main subway lines - orange and red - as well as the waterfront, Boston Common, Charles River Esplanade, and many other attractions worth exploring. It is very noteworthy that this truly international student place has a daily schedule of activities, most of which are free, including a walking tour of Harvard University. I would like to thank our tour guide Peter, who was very knowledgeable about the history of Harvard.

Although there are 4 washrooms available in the block around 314-316, most of the shower controls should be fixed or replaced.

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The staff were friendly, the facilities are so clean and welcoming. It provides free breakfast but since it’s Ramadan for me, I could not experience it. It’s in the heart center of downtown, you’ve Chinatown right there as well if you want to try Asian food. Incredible location overall. The guest of the hotel are world travelers so everyone was super friendly and kind. I’ll definitely revisit this spot the next time I go back to Boston.

To be honest, I wish they can fix the shower shampoo knobs. The 3rd floor room 3 (left shower broke). Overall, no bad complaints. I enjoyed staying here.

Breakfast is served from 7 to 10 am with variety such as cereal, fruit, bagels, bread, waffles, peanut butter, jelly, yogurt, coffee and juice. All the common areas (bathrooms, kitchen, sofas, etc) were very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Daily activities are organized.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and caring, making the stay feel warm and welcoming. The evening meet-up sessions were a great way to connect with fellow travelers, and the guided trails to landmarks like MIT, Harvard, and the Freedom Trail were well-organized and insightful. The breakfast was excellent, and everything was up to the mark, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience.

There was nothing to dislike, everything was well-managed and exceeded expectations.

HI Hostel was simply amazing. The cleanest hostel I've ever stayed. Private and clean bathrooms, comfortable bed, tasty and convenient breakfast. Staff were also very kind and helpful. Lockers were big and could fit everything I brought. The location is awesome, walkable distances from important touristic sites. Really recommend this place, I would definitely come back.

I love the location since it was in the heart of the city and easy to find my way around the town. The breakfast was served based on your choice of hot or cold and it was tasty as well. There was always food to eat from 7am to 10am, that, I'll say is a whole lot of work in there to serve everyone.

The fact that I couldn't find a personal towel where I kept within my space and also some of the roomates weren't friendly, which I think is okay since everyone is different.

Very good location within walking distance of South Station. There are a lot of great food options right around the corner.

I had a great experience at HI Boston. Centrally located in Chinatown, and easily accessible from the airport taking the S1 Silver Line and a 10 minutes walk from South Station. The hostel is very clean and relaxing with plenty of lounging areas with a fabulous reception area with comfortable chairs, big bay windows and a fireplace. I stayed in the six-person female dorm with a nice amount of space. The beds were comfortable with ample storage lockers and I stayed warm during the cold weather. Plenty of clean bathrooms with a shower in each bathroom so I never had to wait for a shower. The breakfast is the usual fare of yogurt, bagels, cereal, some fruit and coffee which was a nice way to start off the day. The staff were nice and helpful and there are activities thoughtout the day and evening. This isn't a party hostel which I appreciated and plenty of quiet time but you can easily meet all types of people at the hostel. Plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants around with delish Vietnamese restaurants everywhere. I loved having the green/orange train lines so close (5 minutes walk) where you can get to the Boston museum, Boston University or transfer to the red line for Pinceton and other Boston sights. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would stay again!

Beds in dorms had curtains giving high level of privacy. Beds comfortable, personal light and recharging sockets too. Good breakfast and common areas too. Good range of tours and activities for those who wanted them, though I didn't personally take part. One of the best hostels I've been to.

The Team was absolutely great!! The private room with ensuite was just what we needed! The breakfast was nice. It was a great stay and would happily recommend this hostel to anyone travelling to Boston!

Very big, friendly and ok breakfast

I enjoyed the privacy of the one person shower/bathroom since other hostels tend to have a form of communal bathroom which I do not enjoy. Free breakfast was a plus. This hostel is located in downtown near two subway stations and other transportation modalities which is extremely convenient for traveling. This hostel host many events which provides an amazing community feel. When I return to Boston, I plan to stay at this hostel again.

I had a room full of noisy roommates who spent the first two nights entering and leaving the room non stop and making a lot of noise. There was just no consideration at all towards other people trying to sleep peacefully.

Very impressive for a hostel. It is a huge property, with lots of space and common rooms. The lockers were large in the room, and the beds were comfy. The bathrooms were super clean, and plenty with no waits. Also loved how the bathrooms were a full bathroom and not a shared open space. The breakfast had basic bagel and pancake with a spread and some cereals, with the cleaning staff to clean the dishes which was lovely. Location was very central to walk, though I am not sure how useful it was to the transit.

The night got way to hot and then too cold, so would advise to check the HVAC.

Really cares about sustainability

I liked the location the most. It was very convenient to get a subway either from Downtown or south station. The staff was helpful. The atmosphere was chill and there was a sense of comfort. I liked that they were so tourist friendly and organised various events for hostellers to get to know Boston.

During my stay, the lighting in the restroom on 4th floor was not functional. I feel that could have been taken care of !

Very friendly staff, always ready to help us. They had free tours organized and we went on one and really enjoyed it. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was simple but did the job! Location was fantastic!!
