They create a schedule with activities and tours, so you can meet people that go on the same flow. Thanks to that I could speak with so many interesting people.

I loved everything

I booked last minute and this was a really good find because they had a kitchen and it was clean and really big with nice seating and big bright windows. I was also there for Halloween. I know it was a really good place for that because they had activities, cool movies playing, candy they gave out for free.

The staff are young. Some are inattentive. Time saver: If you need a hairdryer, you should know ahead of time that you’ll need to give them $20 as a deposit or your ID because the ones in the rooms bathrooms don’t work. I did find that in the wheelchair, accessible shower, one of them at least, that built it in wall dryer for hair turn on. Regarding shower water pressure: it’s positive. I have really thick curly hair and it worked. The wheelchair accessible bathroom room shower is better. That one was really good.

The staff were amazing. Angelica (sp) and Peter were especially great, but everyone on staff was kind and helpful. I went on two tours one led by HI Staff and the other through a partner operator Tours by Foot and both were so fun and interesting. I would’ve liked to do other activities if my schedule had allowed. The location can’t be beat on the edge of Chinatown with lots of access to nearby subway stations. I appreciated the large lockers and the room was spaced well so it didn’t feel cramped even with 7 others in the room.

The bathroom showers leaked in several bathrooms which wastes water (which is odd since they have signs throughout the hostel encouraging ecoconciousness)but the facilities were otherwise really nice.

Great location, amazing staff and great events. I learned a lot about Boston through the events (especially the quiz). There is enough of toilets and showers, the area in the second floor is super comfy and great for working.

Good location and good place!

The bedrooms were really nice with curtains to have some privacy from other people in the room. The kitchen was big and practical. There are a lot of activities proposed during the week. It is well located in Boston center town.

I could hear a lot of noise from the street through my bedroom window.

Excellent location from which to explore Boston by foot. Also, near a T Station that allows quick access to a variety of further afield locations. Many good food options a stone’s throw away.

The hostel was comfortable and clean. I loved the activities and tours that is organised almost everyday; pity I couldn't attend all of them. The hostel is within walking distance from subway stations, Chinatown and shops. The kitchen is spacious and there's sufficient storage.

Nothing really apart from some guests who don't clean up after themselves in the kitchen.

I had a great experience staying at HI Boston Hostel! It was my first time booking and staying in a hostel, and it turned out to be such a nice first experience. The staff were really welcoming, and they even host events that help guests meet and mingle. I met so many amazing people during my stay. I’d definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Boston!

Room was clean and staff was helpful; I booked a room with a private bathroom; I thought at least it would have a coffeemaker (with the usual coffee provisions) as standard amenity - no - while coffee is free for the first "2 hours" I have to get dressed and go down to the second floor to get coffee; coffee was horrible - but had to drink it so I don't get caffeine withdrawal. On my way to the hotel from the train station - didn't see any good coffee shops nearby and one doesn't really want to go out in the cold just to get good coffee.

Bathroom can have more frequent cleaning. Need more light inside the room. Not just one centralized one.

Unlike another hostel in the area, this one has nice common areas which is appreciated. Also, I liked the curtains around the bed in the dorm room.

Really quite expensive for a hostel, but I guess that's Boston...

The location for many of the sights of Boston is superb.

No issues whatsoever.

The location was perfect, lots to do nearby. There was a nice atmosphere in all the common areas and the room was comfortable, basic, but fine for the price.

A shared room with strangers is never ideal, since you have to be mindful of making noise or using the lights when others are asleep. I had early mornings, so I felt bad about that.

Huge & so-well organized hostel. It is super clean, offers multiple bathrooms and a spacious kitchen with a view on Boston streets. We very much liked the central location and modern design. I recommend this place to any budget travelers!

All the staff were so kind and helpful! The private room was good size and a great shower with hot water. We loved the daily activities and did several. Location was fantastic!! We played pool. It’s great to use the kitchen. They have milk in the morning for coffee. Security was good and we felt very safe. We would stay again!

It was a little noisy at night. The coffee wasn’t the best. The hair dryer didn’t work but they gave me another to use. The light by the bed was broken and they fixed it the next day.

It's a cozy and comfortable place for people who travel alone.

The location is amazing, right in the heart of Boston!

I understand that keeping things organized and clean can be quite challenging in a large facility. However, both bathrooms near my dorm were out of service, and the bathroom in the other dorm was unfortunately dirty for two days, with the soap dispenser also broken. I hope these issues can be looked into to make everyone's experience better.

The from is too cold

Amazing staff all around. They accepted delivery for a small parcel I had arrive, with no fuss or worry. Flexible booking arrangements, they were very understanding of my airport delays/missed flights and amended my booking without hesitation. Amazing location.

Very nice location. Very clean and has all things which I needed such as towels toiletries lockers. Leaning was very clean and nice. Beds are nice and comfortable. I was in the room with seven other women. I forgot to use earplugs so I did hear a person coming in and another person leaving at night, but didn’t bother me too much I noticed and then fell asleep in dead deadly. Otherwise at all quiet and I had a nice sleep. The only thing I would mention that is not in details of the hostel. You need to have your own lock for the locker. You can buy it thrown them. But if you would like me who has a lock, you probably want to shake it with you. Otherwise they do provide I should say that and it was only eight dollars. Overall, a very good space. Priced a little bit higher for a bed than I would expect.

Price is a bit higher for a bed in a hostel, but then everything is expensive in Boston.

The location was great. I believe it's one of the only hostels in Boston, so great if you don't want to spend lots of money in accommodations. The lockers in the room are spacious, the beds are comfy, they provide towels and I loved that they have bath mats in the showers that helps keep the bathroom tidy. They also keep your luggage for no additional fee and I liked that the bathrooms were outside of the room. Take the tours that they provide in the hostel, they are great and you can meet other travellers!

The kitchen does not have enough utensils/mugs for everyone. There were no utensils on 2 out of 3 mornings I stayed there. The noise in the hall comes into the room, so the room can be a bit noisy. Also, they cancelled one of the hostel tours and didn't provide any notice or different options, which was a bummer!

Location was great, easy access to food/coffee/public transport/attractions like Boston Commons, Newbury St, Beacon Hill. Staff was always nice and attentive. Take your stay at face value - you're staying in a hostel.
