Blue Moon Villas Resort Amed, Bali

I like the boutique atmosphere as well as the obliging staff and the great restaurant. The “included” breakfast menu was a refreshing change from the more common standard buffet “included” breakfast at most other places I have stayed.

The first day or so of the 7 days we stayed I found the proximity of the roadway a bit noisy although I reminded myself that this is the local thoroughfare and I am visiting a local village and the roadway is theirs, they are going about their lives and that is what I’m here to experience along with the local roosters cattle dogs cats and pigs and it’s all part of the experience I’m in Bali to enjoy. From that realisation onwards it was all good😃

The food and drink was very good and varied, the room was clean and had everything we needed. The pools were refreshing and relaxing. The staff were lovely and helpful

The hotel was cliff front, not beach front, and you had to travel to find a beach to swim off or snorkel. No local transport was available except scooter, or motor bike higher. Lots of cats jumping on tables while trying to eat, also they were in the kitchen, unhygienic, this could be a problem if not rectified.

The rooms / villas with sea view and direct pool access are excellent.

The family room / mountain view was not ideal, no real views and many steps.

One of the furthest hotels from Lipe Beach and Sunset Point, leave at least 45 minutes to travel for distance and road conditions. No grab cars here. Hire scooter or private car only

Nice spacious room with friendly and helpful staff. You are a few minutes walk from a couple of restaurants but there isn’t lots to do in the area - you will need a taxi or bike.

We did not realise that the hotel is split in two, with a busy road in between which is noisy. We were in the part set further back so had a view of the road rather than panoramic sea view. The neighbours played heavy base music which was annoying.

The staff were amazing and it was great value for money

We loved the beautiful villa and wonderful infinity pool which to our delight was lit up all night to use. The magical views and sunsets over the pool were amazing. The pool was a lovely temperature. The food and drinks were excellent and there was plenty of variety on the menu. Loved the fact that we could order food and drinks from our phone via what’s app and have it delivered to our table outside our villa. Just a short walk to reception to have breakfast. You can hire snorkeling gear for under $5 a day also . Great snorkeling on a track near the Villa. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious! I would love to return here again as it’s a lovely spot to chill out for a few days.

The view is marvelious. Straight to the sea( We was in blue heaven vila). So you get up from bad and you see sea... Stuff was verry kind, lways helping ((don't forget leave tips for stuff). This place is for that people who want to relax from city vice. Amed city center is about 5-7 kilometers away from this place, but there are so small shops.

This is simply a wonderful place to stay near Amed. The hotel is gorgeous, built in traditional Balinese style and a modern twist with spiral staircases, the two infinity pools and the luxurious gardens of flowers between the rooms. The restaurant is fantastic with great ambience, delicious food and a varied menu. The staff are wonderful. Special thanks to Ketut who helped us in many ways and made our stay very special.

The hotel is truly exceptional- the beach is not directly in front of the hotel although there is an adventurous rocky ledge you could snorkel from. The beach is very easy walking distance to the east. The hotel could make it more clear that the beautiful lower infinity pool in many of the photos on Booking is only available to the guests staying in the adjacent rooms. There is another beautiful pool near the restaurant with peak views of the ocean but not the vast sweeping views of the ocean at the other pool.

It was quiet & good breakfast

Its getting a bit tired & could do with some refurb, its not very central a taxi or scooter ride everywhere. The staff could be friendlier

Exceptional property. Very nice staff and the rooms lovely. Location is a little hike to get to but we’ll worth it for the privacy and views. 2 lovely pools and plenty of loungers.

Tucked away but it’s only hard to get to as the roads are being updated so lots of pot holes until water drains finished.

Blue Moon Villas is one of the original places to stay in Amed. We stayed in the Ocean front villas which have a beautiful wet edge pool directly in front of the balcony with an amazing view across the ocean. It was beautiful to watch daily from our cliff top vantage as the enormous fleet of sailing boats went out morning and afternoon, returning on the downwind breeze with their colourful sails aloft. We spent our days relaxing by the pool and wandering up to Komang John’s excellent restaurant where we loved everything on the extensive and varied menu. The walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes and you can hire snorkels to take down the bay.

The rooms are lovely. My only minor issue was that the plumbing needs attention, with the drains backing up a bit, but no smells so no drama. There was a bit of light construction on a new boundary wall happening while we stayed. I fear it may take out some of the magnificent view to the west. At this point in time, there was just ugly black shade cloth shoddily erected to hint that might be going to happen, and the soft tap tap tap of a workman’s hammer. This part of Bali is undergoing a building boom so you just need to remember that it may not always be as tranquil as you hope but it’s still relatively quiet, despite the garbage problem, which is very sad, both road sides and beaches in general.

Excellent food with a very refined taste. I loved the friendliness of the staff and the room, pool and view were great.

The door to the veranda and pool could not be locked. Not that we thought anyone would take something, it's just more comfortable if we can lock things.

Location was close to the beach, hired a scooter to get around to other places.

This place feels like paradise. It's absolutely beautiful, and the food is amazing. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. During our vacation in Amed, we ate here almost every morning and evening. The breakfast options are fantastic—smoothies, smoothie bowls, and the cappuccino is just perfect. Everything is super fresh. The swimming pool has a stunning view of the ocean. It truly is paradise.

Only things outside the hotel’s control. It’s about 20 mins from Amed Beach so if you don’t have a scooter you’re stuck there. It’s not a bad thing just need to accept it. If you are in the further rooms on the top side you will have a neighbour that plays loud music during the day and a variety of animals to wake you up early so you can see the beautiful sunrise

Amazing view of the coastline! Cute hotel with lots of charm, great views, good service and food! We loved the chill vibe. We stayed in the oceanview penthouse suite and loved the large balcony and beautiful view! Selang beach is a couple minutes walk away, the Japanese shipwreck was a 15 min walk, and there are several restaurants within a 5-10 min walk. The staff were so helpful and responsive, arranging transport and activities for us in advance of our arrival.

The location is a bit far from Amed, but there are some restaurants and shops within a 10 min walk. We loved the oceanview penthouse suite for its space and superb views, but the only downside is you could hear some street traffic.

Great view of the ocean. The bedroom had a lovely ambience. Deck in front. Nice pool, sun-beds with umbrella or cabana for shade. Restaurant on site ( we didn’t use as we were in Amed for a birthday and we had all our meals as a group friends staying at another resort) motorbike hire. Friendly staff. Response for new batteries for the air-conditioner was prompt. Towels, changed daily.

Like a lot of the accomodation in this part of Amed, guests planning on a stay need to be aware there are steps to reception, then to the rooms. Might not be suitable for anyone who has mobility issues. Whilst everything was clean I think the rooms could do with a bit of a refresh.

The rooms, property and view are beautiful, the food is delicious and fresh, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. We also had great massages.

The view from the room and pool was great.The staff were friendly, helpful, and discreet. The food was good for bali. Overall it's a lovely place but make sure you specify what sort of room you want the extra few dollars make a lot of difference.

The pina colada cocktail I had was the only thing I could fault.

The accommodation was very good and clean, but I missed having a wardrobe in the bedroom, and the kids would have appreciated a TV. The location was a bit disappointing, as we had to rely on taxis or scooters to get anywhere. Fortunately, the incredibly helpful staff made up for it. We felt more like we were among friends rather than in a foreign place. The pool was great, and the flora and fauna within the property were beautiful.

Nearly everything: good stuff, cleanliness, amazing view and sunrises, beach is in 2 mins walk and nearly nobody there.

Too far from the airport, but that is not a bad point because not many tourists can get there

Nice location near a beach. My room looked out over the ocean. The food was nicely presented.

I was there without my own transportation so I felt a bit secluded from the main village which was fine for a night but if I did it again, I'd probably stay closer to the village center. The cushions on my balcony were a bit worn, due for a switch.
