AYANA Resort and Spa, Bali

Pros Check-in: We spent three days of our holiday at this resort. Since we were on our honeymoon, they upgraded our room from a garden view to an ocean view, with a lush green golf course in front and the ocean stretching beyond. The view was stunning, and we really want to thank the hotel for this gesture. The Room: A large TV, strong Wi-Fi, and flawless access to YouTube and Netflix. I thought the room was perfect—the materials used, the heated electronic toilet, the bathtub… and you can separate the bathroom with sliding wooden doors if you like. The balcony was big enough for two people to sit comfortably, and we enjoyed the fresh coffee replenished by housekeeping every morning right there. :) Housekeeping comes twice a day to tidy up, and they provide very nice slippers. I even tore mine, and they replaced them immediately. :)) There was also an iron we used—it worked perfectly. They even provide a rechargeable flashlight in the room. Service: I don’t even know where to start—on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d say 11. Everyone genuinely tries to help you, and you can access all the hotel’s amenities with little to no waiting time. We even swam in the pool on a rainy day and it was heated—such a thoughtful detail. Rock Bar: This is the signature spot of the resort. If you can, definitely book a table here. Watching the waves crash against the cliffs while ending your day in such a high-quality restaurant was simply amazing. Thalassotherapy: Here, the hotel heats seawater and delivers it through 60 different jet systems across various stations. It feels like getting a massage in hot seawater. The experience takes about an hour, and then you still have additional time left to relax. If you have a rainy day during your stay, go straight to thalassotherapy—it’s a wonderful experience. Dining: We tried the breakfast buffet, and it was more than sufficient, offering options from many different cuisines.

Cons The only downside was that we had to wait quite a long time in the lobby during check-in.

Our stay was truly wonderful. We really enjoyed the pool, the attentive staff, and the Rock Bar experience.

The only drawback was that payments were limited to credit card only, which was a little inconvenient since cash was not accepted.

A superb hotel, quality services. Everything you want in one resort.

Beautiful resorts with gorgeous views (incl. the famous paras rocks), spectacular pools, Kubu beach, Saka museum and restaurants! Great intra-resorts connectivity with trams or buggies. Loved all the resorts with Ayana and Rimba stealing the show. Would definitely visit again :)

All the experience was wonderful. Every staff at Resort are soooo nice, they responded to our needs quickly and were always smiling and willing to solve problems.

The location, the choice - of locations, pools, food, drinks, facilities, everything!... the service surpassed expectations consistently from everyone we interacted with, the tiniest details being considered ahead of when you needed 'it'...the 'best kept secret' location of Kisik lounge - an absolutely awesome find when rock bar was so busy...the ability to roam around the grounds so easily... the catering for little ones... all of it was magical.

The multiple influencers is absolutely out of your control and while entertaining - really prevented us from enjoying the ocean pool in the late afternoon as much as we had been - it was almost overrun with lots of loud people posing and taking photos and doing nothing else... might be great idea to limit the 'photo opportunity time' to a certain time in the day - like the river pool (although sadly didnt get chance to see this)...

Rock bar pool…rock bar…the beach…amazing food and cocktails, the fact that you had access to all hotels. The app. ALL the staff are the most kind, helpful people i have ever met in a hotel We basically only left the hotel once to go to Uluwatu temple Great great instructors for aerial yoga and sup board yoga

Spa is severely overpriced Group yoga is at 06:30 (which is not complementary)

The staff were amazing! Super friendly and inviting, in particular Budi and Redi at the After Rock Bar, Yuli at the Rock Bar and Danan at Sami Sami. There were also others but I can't remember their names.

Very beautiful hotel with huge territory and different zones. Fantastic rock bar with amazing sunset view. A lot of restaurants and other bars, the food is very delicious everywhere. The staff is polite, professional, helps in everything. All services are arranged in the highest level

Facilities were great, scenary was spectacular.

It was very expensive and any additional add-on's like a spare bed, extra charge for additional person (even for a child) is payable. There should be more flexibility.

The hotel is situated in a magnificent area. The view from our room was fantastic and our room was really comfortable. Watching the sunset at the Rock Bar with delicious snacks and cocktails was also wonderful. I would love to stay at this hotel when we go to Bali again 🙏🏻

This is a really top resort. The service culture, the systems, always looking to lift the standards and exceed expectations. The sheer range of options within the resort. The massive property when never feels full even when it is fully booked. Rock Bar is heavily promoted but the seafood restaurant and bar at Kisik is in fact an even better experience. Simply superb.

Amazing location, ocean views, clean grounds, variety of restaurants and roof decks bars to choose from. Private beach exclusive to guests only. Different pools to enjoy. Also a golf course to play on.

What’s there to not like….Everything about the property was beautiful!!

Amazing resort. Amazing design and architecture. A feeling of luxury everywhere. Fabulous housekeeping with tools made up beautifully daily or more. Spotlessly clean throughout every part of the resort. Multiple different areas and fantastic pools, beautiful private beach, shuttle buses regularly and the most amazing dining options, with some right on the ocean to enjoy the spectacular sunsets. Despite being a very large resort it never felt crowded.

Communication was often poor. Quite expensive (for example a spa 1 h massage $aud 250-300 upwards and I could get a mobile massage in room for $28, Bintang beer $12.50 whereas at nearby intercontinental it was $7) Delay in check in by 1 hour despite asking for early check in as a member of our family was unwell that day.

Loved the level and kindness in the service throughout the entire stay. The services were readily available and easy to use. We stayed in the ocean view villa which was perfect. Very spacious for 2 people with a separate lounge room area and our own pool. The pool was a perfect size for used by two people more than a plunge pool but less than a lap pool. The bedroom itself was very spacious with another TV in the bedroom. There was also a TV in the lounge room. The wardrobe was a good size with a full-length mirror that was well lit and the bathroom was very nicely separated from the bedroom and lounge room area. The bathroom itself is also very spacious with a large bath in the centre and two basins on either side of the room. The shower was very spacious with a really nice view of the garden and outdoor area. The toilet in the villa was a Toto which was also a bonus. The resort has so many restaurant options and all that we visited in our time at Ayana were delicious. We also use the gym whilst visiting and had a very positive experience. It is spacious and Aircon with enough equipment to be able to train whilst on holiday.

My husband got a massage whilst we visited and the only negative feedback is that it would have been great to have the offer of a deep tissue/sports massage.

Staff cannot be praised enough! They were exceptional. Every attention to detail was paid and they showered us with so much joy and hospitality. Any matters were dealt with promptly and sufficiently. A special praise to Betty who was our first point of contact, set an extremely high bar, and all colleagues also met. There is always someone looking after the grounds, be it pool areas or landscape. Food was incredible and whilst I expected it to taste less authentic, was proved wrong! So much to see and do. Went as a couple but perfect for families too. No ask is too big for the staff at all hotels on site.

A personal reflection that it is quite insular, so you have to be intentional about seeing the rest of Bali. You get what you sign up for however! Food and drink was priced relatively steeply compared to anywhere else.

Clean, Cozy and Awesome

Beautiful grounds, rooms, pools etc.

For a place like this I would not expect to pay extra to use facilities such as a tennis court or putting green. Basically nothing is included and things are prohibitively expensive. 7 or 8 AUD for a coffee or soft drink is twice what it would cost even in Australia which really is a bit of a stretch in my opinion.

One of the most stunning places I’ve ever been. Very friendly staff, excellent food and drink as well as great pools.

Breakfast is pricy but amazing, by far the most diverse and yummy breakfast I have experienced Property with rock bar, after rock, gardens, museum and other hotel facilities and easy transport between via the shuttle it’s the most breathtaking resort I have ever had pleasure of visiting.

I don’t like price but considering what you get it’s hard to consider this a negative It’s good value for the experience

The hotel was super impressive, and the rock bar is amazing. All the pools are beautiful and clean. We loved exploring all the resorts and hotels. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, and we had a very nice view.

A little expensive. I wish we had stayed for longer because you need the time to explore everywhere. Need flat pillows.

We didn't include breakfast in our booking as it would have made the whole stay too expensive. The beach was fabulous the only downside to the day we were there is that the waves crash too close to the shore making it not very kid friendly, need to be a strong swimmer or used to swimming in the ocean to enjoy it. We had a wonderful massage down at the beach, absolutely sublime. The pools were incredible, so many to choose from and easy transport provided by the hotel to move between each hotel / resort to experience them all. Overall, we had a very relaxing time. Definitely book yourself a seat at the Rock Bar. Book for at least three nights so you can enjoy all this resort has to offer.

This was the first time we have stayed at Ayana and we loved it. We swam in a few of the many pools on site, ate way too much delicious food. All the staff were terrific. We toured the new Museum and learnt more about the history and culture there as well. Definitely going back next time.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike at this resort.

The service and the amenities were amazing. There were lots of activities in the resort and the views were amazing. The food was exceptional.

The rooms were not very clean and we got a room with a connecting door (we did not know the people staying next to us) thus the sound proof was not very good. It was difficult to sleep.

Amazing property, super friendly staff, very clean

The resort was so luxurious, the variety of pools was amazing, there was so much to see and do. The kids club at rimba was ideal for my two toddlers. It’s all modernised and happy went off with Nannie’s to play for a few hours. Ocean beach pool is breathtaking as is the rock bar at sunset. There are really good water slides in the kids pool but a little too big for my toddlers. We loved watching the monkeys and the sunsets from our balcony too

It can be dangerous for toddlers - lots of steps/ ledges and my 2 year old managed to climb over the balcony ledge in our room to the other side luckily we got him safely down and warned him not to try again

We absolutely loved our stay at Ayana! The staff were the most exceptional I’ve ever come across. I’m pregnant and got Bali belly just before we arrived, and they offered to drive us 30 mins away to the hospital and pick us up, they provided a pregnancy pillow and even brought in cake and balloons on my husbands birthday! Super attentive, amazing attention to detail and the room was always spotless and well looked after daily. The grounds of Ayana were insanely well kept and beautiful.

Breakfast was really nice and the staff were super helpful.

The property is amazing with access to a private beach, exclusive first access to the world famous Rock Bar. Staff are warm and remembered our names upon just one interaction. The clever use of the resort app also made contacting the staff super easy.

Breakfast coffee can be improved a little and the spa price is on the high side

Extremely high quality atmosphere. Every one of the staff members were awesome and even remembered our names. Very helpful and charming. You could tell they loved their job.The location had a fantastic sunset and a private beach, and the Rock Bar rocked! The whole resort was extremely quiet. Food and service were excellent.

The on,y thing I didn’t like was that we had to leave. Leaving heaven is not a happy thing!

Our upgrade to the suite was amazing, fabulous fabulous and the staff were so accommodating and warm nothing was too much trouble.

Our first room " ocean view" on the ground floor was really ocean glimpses with golf course views, we also had super noisy people above us waking us at all hours, we were deliighted to be relocated and upgraded to a suite.......fabulous room and we finally saw the ocean

Everything & so much more! AYANA truly is an exclusive resort and if you’re visiting you’d find it hard to leave like we did.

A lot more expensive than expected, but you do receive amazing service and the food was great.
