Pelican Bay Hotel Freeport, Bahamas

The room is big, comfortable and clean.

I have stay here serval times because it's the only decent hotel in Freeport but during my last travel the staff's attitude was terrible. Upon arrival at check-in, I was informed that my reservation had been canceled and that I should book directly with them, on the condition that it was for two nights. My reservation was not canceled in the booking system, and after I showed them proof, they accepted a reservation for only one night, but charged me almost $80 more than the total cost.

The rooms are spacious and clean, with a balcony and a bathroom equipped with a quality shower.

The hotel disappoints due to the poor quality of service from the reception staff, who are poorly trained and unable to provide customer support when needed. On two occasions, I had to contact the reception staff to receive missing towels (which took over an hour) and to connect the TV to the Wi-Fi, which was not resolved. Breakfast is not included in the room rate. Even so, we decided to pay for it, but the quality was simply awful, with no options for fruit, bread, or quality coffee.

Only the pool, the staff in front desk were rude the over charged me $500, I’ve never gotten my incidentals back that I’ve never used there before

The door had holes, the ac turned off, the chair was musty and old, the room was outdated , tvs were out dated, the staff was rude, the bathroom shower heads had mold , the sink had soap scum.

Amazing staff! Great view 🥰. Room was very clean I also love that there is plenty of bars/restaurants within walking distance. You must also go to Get Wet watersports !!!! Omg i can’t remember the name but right next to hotel is a great breakfast spot ( ask for bacon crispy tho lol) !!! I had a blast !!!!

Needed to switch rooms due to the A/C didn’t respect I was on my bday trip lol .

The room was a very good size but relatively basic.
It had a nice balcony and the bathroom was fine. The hotel is in a very good location with great pool facilities and a breakfast option (not great if you are vegetarian) but pretty acceptable.

A couple of times our towels were removed when the room was cleaned and not replaced so we had to ask for more.
Overall the staff are not particularly friendly but the speed of communication etc is fine.

Facility was attractive and quiet. Our view was lovely. Sabor had a nice variety of menu options, even though the menu was not extensive. The meals we chose were tasty and well prepared.

Breakfast was disappointing. Too many cooked options, but limited fruit and cereal, and no yogurt. Breads, cold meats, and cheeses were supermarket packaged items. The room was very nice but with a variety of minor maintenance issues: hairdryer was falling off the wall with loose wiring, cold water faucet was “frozen” at one of the bathroom sink so there was no cold water at that sink. And why provide nice cups and plates, but no knives, forks, and spoons, and no detergent, wash cloth or towel, so guests can clean up after themselves?

The place is beautiful, like a garden. The room facility is a little simple. But room is spacious.

The property is in a good location, next to a beach, market and scooter/car rental.

For the price the hotel is charging I expected a more modern, first rate hotel.

# The hotel room was okay. Expected a more modern kind of room with a microwave, again for the price they are charging. The bathroom shower head was a bit faulty (partially blocked).
# Laundry - only 2 washers and 2 dryers for a facility this expensive. The dryer doesn't have time display so you have to kinda guess and show up early to ensure other people don't put your clothes out. The laundry room also didn't feel clean.
# The breakfast was a big disappointment. It closes at 9:30 and we reached at 8:30. Almost all the main food was out - scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit slices. We had to wait almost 30 minutes for refills and then there were so many people competing. They charge $20 per person so I don't expect this to be an issue. It is also a short walk from the the main property so consider that before deciding to go there especially if it's raining. We didn't go there the next day and ate at Wendy's which is a short distance from there, much better pancakes.
# For a waterside room, much of the view was blocked by huge palm trees. It was also next to hammocks which was an issue because of some noisy kids (I understand kids want to have fun but the hammocks could be away from the rooms).
# The wifi in our room was a bit spotty. It worked better in the balcony than inside the room.

I loved the friendly staff, the bathrooms and rooms were tastefully done and very clean. Also got to eat at the restaurant flying fish which was exceptional.

Excellent location on the marina, close to a wide selection of bars & restaurants. Well-appointed room, great views, modern & clean.

We booked a suite but on arrival were told we only had a standard room (same price) & that the details on Booking.com were incorrect. After complaining we were upgraded to a suite.

I did not have breakfast as a part of my booking. My room location was excellent.

Beautiful property…lovely gardens…so much work to make them beautiful! I loved that.

The restaurant was very nice too, delicious and glad that they do takeaways!

Nothing (maybe a grass rug in the hotel soon would make it cozier), but very nice amenities

I loved that they had a full service restaurant right on the property. I really loved Sabor and my family did to. The pool was clean even though we did not get to use it and the staff was incredible! They accommodated us even when our room got flooded out. Very efficient and effective staff that was very welcoming. Oh and the buffet breakfast on the property was delicious!

Wifi is unbelievably bad for this day and age. It’s obviously a ploy to force guests to pay for the “faster” wifi service which is ridiculous.

The bed was soft and comfortable. The location was near restaurants and the breakfast was awesome the staff was nice and helpful, especially at breakfast.

There wasn't any microwave in the ground floor room but in the laundry area. The price we were given for one (1) night was $202.02. We end up paying $323.02 which is $121.00 over the price given by booking.com. This should have been stated before we booked.

Everyone of the staff was very friendly. The breakfast is great in a nice location. We loved the hotel because of its diversity. The water Taxi to the beach is cool.

It would have been nice to have more shuttle possibilities to activities.
