Hotel Van Zandt, Austin

The location was great, the amenities including having a nice restaurant and cafe inside that could charge to the room was an awesome bonus. The room size, black-out curtains, and sound machine made for a comfortable stay.

We had difficulty with check-in. We requested an early check-in and while we understood it is subject to availability we were told we were next to have our room cleaned and ended up waiting 2 hours missing some of the events we had planned. We could have worked with the delay of check in, but we would have like the communication that it could be hours before checking in.

The design was great in both set up and colors!

Great location, live music nearly every night upstairs in the restaurant. Great vibe. Staff super attentive and friendly.

The friendly staff - and especially the valet team-were exceptional. The hotel has an amazing vibe of being hip and cool in a laid-back way. Proximity to Rainey Street is just an added bonus!

Checked in with ease - offered some complimentary margaritas -love the vibe here !

Just a heads up -You’ll most likely have to use valet service for your car. If you’re lucky, you might find a parking spot nearby.

The staff was really nice and the hotel has great drinks.

Really liked the record player in our room. Property was very clean, and impressively designed.

The hotel is beautiful, modern, and very well maintained. The room was extremely comfortable, with impeccable cleanliness and housekeeping service. The location is excellent for tourists as it is just steps away from the lively Rainey Street, but steel far enough to ensure a peaceful night’s rest.

The valet service was a major disappointment. We paid $335 for 5 days plus daily tips, but from day one something felt off. While most of the team were professional and friendly, one attendant (ponytail) was passive-aggressive, and I twice got the car with strange adjustments – once with the entertainment system switched to Spanish, another time with the seat all the way back and steering wheel pushed max. low and forward wich was an undriveable position.


Despite confirming the night before that we’d need the car at 4:45 am, it wasn’t ready and we waited 15 minutes, causing unnecessary stress. Perhaps my “mistake” was tipping only on pickup, not on drop-off.

Our room was lovely and well appointed. We had several meals in the hotel and each one was quite good! Even the downstairs hotel bartender was so very personable and helpful! He also made a wonderful cocktail!

New and fresh.

Booking.com sold me a room with a spa. But really it was bath except for the shower in my room.

The pool and restaurant area were amazing

I loved how close it was to everything. The vibe is amazing and the pool was really cool. Loved that they had live music most nights.

I didn’t like that they let too many people park on the 4th of July and I ended up having to park off site and pay $200 for one night to park. That really sucked.

Really nice, modern hotel with great staff & amenities. Close to Rainey Street, which has a nice vibe to it in an evening.

The bar could stay open later for residents, shut at 11pm on the night of my stay.

Is housekeeping daily or every other day? Thought the room would have been freshened when we left at 11a and again at 1:30-5:30

It's been 2 weeks, and our luggage is still packed. Apparently we haven't dealt with the reality of not still being there lol. Considering the fact that we live in Houston, and its been at least 25yrs since I partied on 6th Street, I hadn't considered a "Love Anniversary" vacation in Austin as a grown person. However, my stay at Hotel Van Zandt (Downtown Austin) let me know just how jaded I was!! My wife and I have stayed in  some pretty Chic and Upscale Hotels/Suites during our travels, and our accommodations at Hotel Van Zandt ranks up there with the best!! From the "Urban Contemporary " decor, to the daily "Complimentary" margaritas, they made sure we enjoyed being at the Hotel as much if not MORE than being out and about. It's perfectly located in an area where daily walks or enjoying a "Nightlife-Stroll" is certainly warranted! We were privileged to spend our nights in the Presidential Suite. It's "so layed" that we wished we had invited several of our friends! Moreover there was so many amenities and features available that we developed "FOMO" and booked and extra night! lol (including the rooftop pool, live music at Geraldine's, and Artful cuisine at Brass Poppy all within the hotel.) I think we STILL MISSED something though!  ***Be Aware: There is NO free parking, so expect to pay a nice chunk for Valet (which we chose) and if you're expecting "absolute quiet" DO NOT BOOK your accommodations overlooking Rainey Street lol.*** "But it's Rainey Street right? Who's ever heard of a quiet party?"
Connor and Paulina made absolute CERTAIN we would return soon! I mean we're still packed right?? We miss you Suite 315!

It was beautiful, and clean, the food was good and the live music was great.

The bar staff . The bar is so nice we wanted to celebrate my son getting his masters and the staff was kinda rude . So we went somewhere else .

The decor and rooms were great

While I didn’t use the pool it did appear to be cloudy

it was beautiful. it was easy to get to and in a great location right by the River.

Bed could have been a bit softer

Exceptional customer service! The staff was very accommodating. I had a terrible headache; I needed a cup of coffee. The coffee shop had just closed, and the young man at the front desk directed me to the restaurant. The staff at the restaurant was great! The bartender poured me a cup on the house! Such wonderful consideration.

That I had to leave!

Beautiful hotel with a great staff and really fun vibe. Beds are comfy and the room layouts are very cool. The location is prime, being right off of Rainey St.

Definitely get the amenities package, free margaritas and a really cool vinyl rental program.

The shower had an issue with leaking water on the floor. Maintenance took care of it ASAP!

Suite was wonderful. Bed was comfortable. Loved the happy hour. Geraldine's is in the building and has great music and food. Nice chill vibe.

Lots of construction in the area so less foot activity and a bit of noise during the day. A number of patios nearby so you can hear music in the rooms at night but white noise machine helps with it.

It was a beautiful property and everyone was so nice and accommodating

The huge bathtub , the pool when the sun finally hits it ! The lady who served me overnight oats every day and the dude with blonde hair on reception giving me water

It was sxsw and St Patrick's day always gonna be loud. But the music is loud even on 16th floor. White noise machine and earplugs no probs. But if you want a quite spot it's not for you. But upside is you walk out to Rainey St !!

The staff we spoke with were very helpful, and patient. We especially noted how kind the gentlemen were at the front of the hotel - opening the doors, making sure we weren’t waiting too long for our rides.
