Hostel AthenStyle, Athens

It's in a great location and is an excellent value. The staff were very helpful and mostly friendly. Everything is clean. Everything you could want is right around the corner, or at least nearby. The roof top and main floor common areas are great for interacting with fellow travelers. All major attractions in central Athens are a short walk away. The guests are mainly backpackers and not broke Greeks.

My personal towel was taken by the cleaning lady, and it took some real effort to get it back. The fire alarms went off randomly a few times, and once when the building next door was actually on fire. The rooms are extremely small, not even space for 2 people to pass between the beds, but the price can't be beat. There is only a microwave, and no stove or refrigerator, although the receptionist can put things in the staff fridge for you. Pretty minor stuff considering the value and location.

The view upstairs is nice and there’s a toilet you can use.

Power plugs to every bed not possible, but maybe this can change. Ventilation needs a bit of a fixing in the toilet.

The hostel is located in a central location, perfect to visit around! The receptionist was very welcoming and gave me great recommendations for places to eat. The dorm was clean, cozy, and had a private bathroom. (Also, free shot for the rooftop bar). Overall, very much recommended!

You need to pay for luggage storage in the basement lockers if you arrive early or wanted to store luggage after checkout. No privacy curtains.

I liked the location, the hospitality and the room was comfy.

The hostel is very near the city centre and the neighborhood is safe also at night, with many bars and restaurants. The staff is very thoughtful, helpful and friendly: the hairdryer in my room didn't work, but when I asked the staff to help me, they gave me another one very quickly. In general they are ready to respond to any request or need. The room and the bathroom were simple, but clean and very comfortable. I would suggest just adding a little table to put the stuff. But otherwise, it was great. There is also a rooftop where you can have breakfast or take a drink at night. The panorama is unique, with a beautiful view of the Acropolis. In conclusion, it's the perfect place for visiting Athens.

Place was very well located! Pretty close to the metro station and also to many restaurants. The staff was very friendly and kind, WiFi connection was also great! Bed was okay too; comfortable for a night or short stay. I stayed for a short time so didn’t have time to check the facilities. Isnt a bad thing so I will not add as “didn’t like section”, but the rooms were pretty small. There were no so many space to put your luggage and stuff around even with lockers available, but the room them self was kinda small. Also, it might be people staying a little bit longer so would be great to have more rules or advise about shared rooms, the room I was at has a person and was so many things of her everywhere, even food, fruits and salads, could definitely bring some little animals to the room.

Excellent location very close to Monastiraki Square and easy walking distance to all the main sights. Rooms were comfortable. Exceptional view from the rooftop bar.

The location is fantastic, 1-minute walk from Monastiraki Metro Station. The staff is kind and the facility is not bad.

The cleanliness of the room/ bed should be improved a lot. I found a few bed bugs on the bed . That's so annoying.

The location was great and the price was cheap. The rooftop bar had a view as good as any of the other big names without the big prices.

Not having free storage was a bit crap. If you want to leave your bags (and 3pm checkin is hard and fast) then you have to pay for a locker. Also, the soundproofing was poor. The drawback of such a great location is that it’s busy most of the night and early in the morning. So having poor soundproofing is a bit of a problem.

The location is amazing because is close to the Parthenon. The view, all the area is nice. The view from the rooftop is amazing

Great location couldn’t fault it near all the tourist locations.We had the double room with en-suite bathroom and a balcony,great views of the acropolis.

The location of the hotel is very good. Hotel staff are very helpful. The view from the terrace is very nice,

but the bar on the terrace is open to customers from outside and they make a lot of noise when leaving late at night. I stayed for 2 nights and had the same difficulty sleeping both nights. There is nothing else bad.

Location was good. The view from our balcony was excellent. The staff were excellent, very helpful.

The dorm could have been bigger. The shower didn’t have a door so the water went everywhere with dirty footprints on the floor. All the floors should have been cleaned properly including under the beds. The bunks were noisy and the mattresses were old. The whole place needs renovating. The lift is dangerous. If you don’t open it correctly it could slam back on you. You should have more comfortable chairs in the reception area.

good hostel, quiet at night. good AC. nice brekafast place next to the hostel. close to metro and 15 min walk to the Syntagma Square. moldy but reasonably clean bathrooms.

mattresses are roulette. some are ok, some are extremely uncomfortable, I had some problems with wifi in the room. bathrroms are really tiny. a bit too moldy..

The location is excellent, a few steps away from Monastiraki square, place is bustling and busy and felt like a great spot to socialize. Has lockers downstairs to store your luggage.

Very basic room, with no effort put into any design or making it feel welcoming. The shower head was in really poor condition, barely sprinkling any water, the tap was stiff and water temperature was quite unstable (went from cold to scorching hot without much in between).

No kitchen for guest use. Rooftop wasn’t very social on non event nights. No laundry services or washing machine available during our stay.

The beds weren't very comfortable, they were squickiy so the room was noisy any time someone moved in their bed.

Central, good price for convenient although basic facilities. Staff is very efficient and friendly. Clean. Rooftop is great. Nice entrance hall/common room. Easy access and no hassle to come back late at night.

Small room for 4. Would be OK for 2. Lack of space. Bathroom facilities a bit cramped. No padlock on locker, apparently you have to buy one if there isn't one available ? It wasn't clear.

The location is perfect. We got the single room with terrace and the views were absolutely amazing. The staff was nice and the room had everything you needed.

Very noisy, would be better with good curtains- it got very light very early. The pillows were old, the bed not as comfortable. You do not even get coffee or anything with your stay. There could be more room for clothes.

The entire establishment is well located and provides great amenities for those travelling to Athens on a budget. It is also a very open space where everyone can meet and hang out on the roof. Very young spirited.

The room wasn't small, but the couple's bed had a spring mattress, and it wasn't all that comfortable. Plus, it made a lot of noise. But not the worst. We had previously tried double beds in a room, and it was much more comfortable.

The breakfast was okay, but I thought it was including the price but it wasn’t, I had to pay for it. The manager guy was rude and demand me to pay for it, his approach is very unfriendly.

The manager guy and the bartender manager were also rude. They think I’m a petty, gave them a $20 bill but I was told that this bill was fake and demanding me to pay the loss. I told them it was from YOUR people that gave me the changes when I purchased a shirt nearby. So I paid for it and dump the fake $20 bill because it’s belong to their people of Thessonaiki, Greece, and I walked away. I was turned off.

There is an elevator!

Air conditioner was loud. But there was an air conditioner at the end :) Hard to complain for the price.

- very good location near Monastiraki - the dormitories have (tiny) bathrooms of their own. - they have ladies' dormitories - they have a nice lounge with tables and chairs

- the dormitories are small and cramped with 6 beds - the bathroom is tiny and old - a dustbin in the room would be helpful - the aircondition was set on +19°C (!!!) and apparently could not be changed, so it was either too hot or freezing cold. - they don't have kitchen facilities, not even a fridge. Using their cattle for preparing hot water was a bit of a fight with some of the guards. - The rooftop bar is beautiful, but it had a strange foul smell (stink). Officially, you are not supposed to sit there drinking your own nescoffee. I do not approve this. - Safestay has a strange police about the prices: On a normal weekday, a bed in the dormitory would be 23€ in late September. But on the weekend they charge a mind-boggling 30€! Even when they had a shutdown of the current from 08.00 - 11.00 h, they would not reduce this price. I do not approve this either.

Not the best hostel I've stayed it, but also far from the worst. Location is of course great, 4-people room was pretty good, rooftop bar is very nice.

Only bathroom and shower is in the room, which turned out not to be convenient, especially when someone showers very early or very late. No alternative shower area on the floor - if it's occupied in your room, you have nothing else but wait. No shelf on the upper bed, so nowhere to put your stuff.

Great convienant location, we were only staying for a day to explore Athens in between connecting flights so this was ideal. We booked last minute so only option was the twin bunk bed room which was fine however a very very small room. The air con worked well which was great.

No fridge in the room small minor detail. The overall room was a bit dirty, dust on the skirting and just felt musty.

The location is perfect, just in the center, and it's just a walking distance from most of the historical sites. The view from the top is amazing.
